Before reading any of these comments I can tell there is Hockey players out there watching this. Yes, I play Ringette. I don't say "Ringette is better!" Or "Hockey sucks!" Because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I've played Ringette for a while and my best friend plays both, and she loves them equally. So you basically what I'm saying is; don't hate someone for loving their sport.

Ringette is the best sport ever. I play it all the time. Ringette is the fastest sport on ice, much faster then hockey. If your loooking to play a sport a suggest ringette! Its fun and you get to make lots of new friends! :D

@BostonSecret45 Actually i was asked to play in U16 when i was 12... So yeah, whatever. & No, it's way harder actually. You have to stab the ring when it's coming really fast down the ice. You also have to raise the ring in order to get a goal if the goalie is a stay down goalie.

@SoulBxS i've been playing ringette for 7 years. I would def NOT say it's easier to control the ring... When you shoot it all you can hope for is it doesn't turn or go too high. Plus, when you're going so fast you loose control of the ring.

Ringette is an amazing sport. You can't say it is better or worse than hockey cause that depends on your personal preference. Unless you have played bothsports for an equal amount of time it is unfair to judge them. People Love both sports because each is special in it's own way.

Okay to be fair, speed skating is probably the fastest sport on ice but you'll find ringette is often faster than hockey because it involves skating more than hockey does. That's not to say hockey players aren't powerful skaters, it's just a different kind of skating.

@BostonSecret45 Actually, it was a man who invited ringette, though he did have plenty of help from his wife. When ringette was invented, girls were not allowed to play hockey at all--pro or not. Ringette was invented to allow girls to play ice sports. Eventually, girls were able to play hockey and the sport began to die. As for hockey vs ringette, the later is actually faster and require more agility. Try playing it (or watching it) and you'll find out.

@BostonSecret45 Quick question... have you ever played it? Because I've watched a competitive boys hockey team play against a competitive ringette team for charity, and the girls destroyed them. And then they had a hockey game, and though the game was closer, the girls STILL won. And these were both same age level, both AA teams. Ringette isn't as easy as it seems--and neither is hockey. Both sports are challenging in their own ways.
