According to Jerry, Rod Tidwell had 110 catches and 1500 yards in the previous season. And all the football commentators talk like they're surprised at Tidwell's play. Just for reference, Cris Carter never had 1500 yards receiving, and he only had 110+ catch seasons twice in his illustrious career. That kind of play speaks for itself. It's a small internal inconsistency within the movie, but what the hell, I'm a stat nerd.
@crazyriders83 I agree. It always bothered me that his stats were so under appreciated the entire movie. Funny thing is how he was so happy with the 4 year 11.2m. These days if he put together two 100 catch season with 1200 plus yards, he'd get a 40 million dollar contract.
