Babe you need a balanced diet yeah, cos you have eaten quite a few grams from the top of that biro pen :P You got great Video presence btw, it's INEVITABLE :)))
I will be teaching a 15 minute course twice a month for a monthly payment. I am leaning toward Vimeo. This is all very confusing. I will have to advertise the course myself and build a client base. The course is a new sport sweeping the country with no teaching access in small communities. Any suggestions? Barbara
Very helpful outlook. I guess the only one I was wondering about is what your thoughts are on Viddler? I'm debating between YouTube, Vimeo and Viddler for the most part.
I kind of wish youtube would allow for a wider selection of categories. Say I upload an animation... I could put it in the animation category and the 2D animation sub category instead of just Film & Animation. I make a short comedy film, I could put it in Film - Short Film - Comedy.
Small little changes like that could just make youtube a little better I think. Or if not, atleast it would make it easier to find new channels you actually like. :(
I love youtube but Vimeo just seems to have more interesting and high quality content. The film & animation category on youtube is the category I would frequent most, but it seems like people put videos there just because they 'FILM'ed it with a camera. BrittaniLiousTaylor gains views by giving away gumball machine toys and asking her viewers to spam the comments, CTFxC vlogs, SXEphil and ctfxc post movie reviews. Not my cup of tea.
Nothing compared to Vimeos Film and Animation categories.
I have a Vimeo account and you can have a video that is longer than 1hr just as long as it's under 500mb for a free user and a free user is the account where you only have 1 HD upload per week and it all depends on how fast your internet is how fast it'll upload! Also a premium user can have unlimited HD uploads and they don't crack down on copyright as hard a youtube but TV Shows are a diff thing... I suggest that Vimeo is way better and try it for one week and you'll see how much better it is!
Youtube layout is better, but community is bad. Stupid comments are encouraged here. But I still use it much more than vimeo, because most of videos on youtube. Most of good software tutorials are on vimeo.
@djmakerz quite a while back mate, and now there are ppl (who havn't paid) that get what seems to be unlimited upload time.
(btw, to cityvj1: my personal thoughts/opinions on the three: YouTube: best if you wan't a lot of attention (just prepare for a lot of hate as well) great place to get noticed for sure, but the community is unfortunately not as kid friendly anymore and appear to have just stopped caring what comes out in their comments :(
@testingte community, and no video time limit. great place if you wan't some professional videos with ppl who actually talk on what they truly think about the video and how to help you out (instead of just saying "first" or some other random stuff) the only downside to vimeo that is semi-bothering to me is that there is not a lot of ppl using it and it feels like it will take years before someone comments on your video :(
Facebook: I don't do/don't have/not allowed on it so I cant say much ;P)
@testingte I agree with you about vimeo.. You gotta love the youtube traffic. But if its technical 'thats good but try this instead' kind of comments your after, you have to go with vimeo. The only thing about vimeo I sometimes dont like is that its all about reflecting light in mud puddles (i.e a little pretentious).

@djmakerz yup, still wished they at least moved it a bit higher, say 20 min would be greater :D A total double from the original 10 min limit.
