  • GOD BLESS YOU

  • Water lawns less often. Clean cars less often, shop less. Live simply and enjoy life!

  • One thing we can do is use less energy for the costs to eco, human, and animal health are too high - and expensive, too. Turn off water and lights that aren't needed, walk rather than drive when possible, use more public transportation, use more efficient light bulbs, grow your own chem-free veggies, flush toilets less, stop using paper towels and napkins, etc. Any ideas - post 'em!

  • So what's the hold up in the US? We should do this too. Rural people with less education have improved things, while pampered people use up old-style energies that poison air, soil, and water. This solar tech is doable and healthier. I saw a TED where a young man from a rural African village made a wind tower and hooked it up to his family's home. Wow!

  • Man i LOVE Indian accents in English.

    :P

  • wow .....will power of one man ....

  • I wud lyk to know why did the people who disliked, why ????

  • Corrupt politicians and businessman disliked it.

  • 50 dislikes?

    wtf is wrong with people..

  • Bravo!

  • Inspiring

  • Good Video...

  • absolutely amazing

  • Great video and work!!!!

  • So are you trying to defame me by using the label "WHITEPRIDE?"

Where did that come from? Are you a political correctness officer or something?

I say when your own group is threatened, defend your own group before another. As it is said, charity begins at home.

To a liberal, even using the word WHITE creates a torrent of rage. I see it as a genocidal rage, irrational and dangerous to other humans.

I am talking about white survival and you are defaming me.

  • so INSPIRING! Listen to the people.

  • Wonderful. Thank you for your love of all people. Love and peace to you:)

  • We should learn from him! Cheers!

  • Mathew Muthuplackal Dear Mr.B.Roy, Wonderful movement, congras.I,am Fr.Mathew from Solar Alternatives from Patna who made Scheffler cookers for you. But I saw the photo of some other person in your presentation. Not for any publicity, just a correction.Best wishes and Happy New year.

    Dear Mr Roy,

I saw this comment on Facebook. I am posting it here. Great work, keep it up

  • @SAVETHECHILDREN6592 Did they let you out of the mental institution or did you escape?

  • @FractalHolon What threatens you so much about people awakening to the ongoing program of genocide against the white race? You want to call me crazy for sounding an alert to other white people?

  • @SAVETHECHILDREN6592 And "White pride" is codeward for inbreddumbfuckingidiot. Take a look at the video you spammer, you are clearly off-topic so gtfo.

  • Those who dislike this are asleep. They belong to the lowest consciousness group of existence. They may be highly intelligent people but have no wisdom and compassion.

  • Thanks ;)

  • I agree with aerobique.. NOMADdaf reminds me of a man I met yesterday: I said to him, "I have run into someone who has found a cure for HIV and we have a case series study of 20 people." His reply: Not good enough. You need a double-blind study or it's no use. But it's working. A double-blind study will cost the earth. No answer because he didn't want to say, "Well, that's too bad!" I hope the university we apply to for research will accept our evidence, anyway.

  • @MrKilulu thats the kind of thinking that killed many when x-ray was first discovered.

  • I am deeply humbled by the deep wisdom and proactive action taking of Sanjit Roy. Absolutely amazing.

  • inspirational!

  • TED talks are always inspiring, insightfull. Awesome sauce, that needs to be spread.

  • "THE TRUTH IS, WE DO HAVE THE ANSWERS... ALL WE NEED IS EACH OTHER; THE SIMPLIEST YET MOST TANIGLE SOLUTION."

  • total rubbish. The only thing worth having in this video were the modern things like solar panels which were made by educated people. All of this helped no one. Go talk to the geneticists that have doubled food production. They have done great things. What has he done other than renamed uneducated as educated.

  • @NOMADdaf yeah yeah doubled the production lower prices higher yield for farmers and no diseases in following generations ? please cite proper instances

  • @freedomformind not sure what that is supposed to mean, but if I have to explain to you without currant food production technology the world would have been short of food a decade ago.Why do you think we have so much to send them? Why do you think Russia buys so much from us? If I have to explain it you wouldn't understand the explanation any way.

  • Absolutely humbling. This is an example of things that are hidden from the "wise" and given to the truly wise.

  • This brought tears to my eyes! Why, oh why, can't we have someone like this man in Pakistan? Here we are two neighbours, the very same people, the one racing on to the stars and the other wallowing on the rubbish heap of an anti-progress religion.

  • a real hero!

  • As usual too many spectators too cowardly to live their lives but brave enough to stand on the sidelines and trash the doers and achievers of the world. This man has done great work. his message to ask people and listen to find out how you can resolve their problems is something that bleeding heart wealthy goodie two shoes people can well learn from..as for you who have so much to criticise about this man and his work, how about you get off your bottom and do something worthwhile with your life?

  • It is an amazing odyssey of Mr Bunker Roy who has had the courage to connect with Bharat first, and then, has focused the talent and the basics of human aspirations. These attributes which are border-less, have there after been taken to the most disadvantaged across state and international borders. A process of crystallization and cross pollination! Congrats!

  • The work speaks for itself. Competence, confidence and belief indeed.

    Look fwd to the transcript.

  • If only he wasn't being so deeply misandrist. But even with this big lazy flaw of arbitrarily excluding men I still applaud what this movement has accomplished.

  • @ooooneeee I don;t think he was being misandrist. He made some jokes which I don't think should be taken to seriously and said the men didn't want to work there because they all wanted to go to the city for better jobs.

  • @ooooneeee You have no idea how much male dominated the rural societies in India are. Sex ratio in India is so much screwed up due to female feticide that many Islamic countries fare better. He does it because he understands sees the society for what it is and not from an outsider's point of view. The only way third world nations can get rid of their poverty is via women's deep involvement in the process, men are involved anyways.

  • @prabhatpalpal what an idiotic comment .... women are respected in the Indian society.. even in villages.. the problem is people dont get a chance to show their talents...

  • @kalkibhagwan Not giving a chance to show their talent is called suppression.

  • @prabhatpalpal: Misogyny cannot be healed with misandry. But only with compassion toward both men and women.

@violet101: I'm afraid he is taking those limiting sentiments way too serious himself though.

  • Such a great man.

  • great video :)

  • The self-satisfied "I'm more humble than thou art" smugness of this guy is unbearable. Pandering to white-guilt, glorifying provincial poverty, and gloating over sexist misandry is not worthy of the revolting gushing I see in the comments to this video.

  • @ddunniii I agree to some extent about the smugness. But that doesn't take away from his sacrifices and achievements. I personally detest worshiping someone and gushing at their achievements, so I understand your discomfort. But looking at his work objectively, one has to give it to him for what he has pulled off.

  • Nice to see humanity getting off it's knees. I am so proud of the Indian people.

I loved it when he said they made that doll out of recycled bank reports.

All of humanity is waking up from their sober slumber! All I can say is 11.11.11

  • Capitalism and money is not life..This is !!

  • What a Brilliant Man!

  • *humbled* what a great man

  • BEST VIDEO CLIP I HAVE EER SEEN TY TY TY

  • 28 dislikes?

    wtf is wrong with people..

  • @aerobique ?! IDK.

Perhaps TED talk by Kathryn Schulz may assist. /watch?v=QleRgTBMX88

  • @aerobique everything...

  • this is so brilliant! ...so empowering ....solutions come from within ...indeed

I keep coming back to this inspired presentation

    standing ovation so well deserved

  • @kaminarigaston That part was bullshit, the rest is fine.

  • I like it how the albino fuckin' goons are clapping. They're the ones responsible for the poverty that this guy is trying to alleviate. How ironic.

  • @buzzin1975 Yeah, every single white person in the world is responsible for the poverty everywhere else. It has nothing to do with agriculture and a ton other factors or anything.

  • @AsifIcarebear3 Yup, they're responsible. India was self-sufficient for 70,000 years, and all that changed after Whitey British came and stole everything. Anything to add?

  • @buzzin1975 So by the same token, the white people in the USA are all personally responsible for the slavery of the Africans back in the day, yeah? And we should blame all the Germans for killing those jews. No, not unless you're a complete fucking idiot. That was all done by different people. Thus, you cannot say "They're the ones responsbiel for the poverty that this guy is trying to alleviate." because it's wrong. End of discussion.

  • @AsifIcarebear3 Yup, all the white shits in America are responsible for slavery, the Germans are all fucking Nazis, and the Spanish are all genocidal. Unless you think Indians are more culpable? Get real fucker. How do you think the world ended up this way? You think global climate change is the work of aborigines and indigenous peoples? You stupid white fuck.

  • 25 executives of WB and IMF didnt like it...:P

  • "unfortunately they're almost half german. They're so precise!" lol, i love it.

  • Soth ond gut gefremmod

  • Bunker Roy's charm, humor and a simple solution = success.

    A brilliant man!

  • you have impressive sharing, feel like meeting you soon Bunker roy...

  • We need more folks like this if we're to really solve any problems in the third world.

  • Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Give him a fishing pole...

  • @leonidasx666 he'll need to apply for a fishing license.

  • @bboyAdubs LOL :D

  • @leonidasx666 I love how you think you're smart because you can regurgitate an ancient quote, acting as if you're the only one who thought of that analogy.

  • @AsifIcarebear3 "acting as if you're the only one who thought of that analogy"... what? It was only a comment.

Please don't fall into 'youtube hate', there's already a lot of it going around... I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought about this quote. And I'm sure there are many others who thought the same way after seing this talk... I just wrote it.

  • Sounds great for undeveloped countries but thatll never fly in Europe or north America.

  • What a man, I feel like a selfish bastard after that.

  • inspired. great speech, great role model, the best community.

  • Sub please

  • This man is inspiring, what a hero

  • If there's a hero in our days, that's him...

  • Simply brilliant and inspiring!! Thank you Mr Bunker Roy! =D

  • Amazing.

  • This is so inspiring.

  • Did anybody else keep thinking of that movie "Accepted?" Haha very interesting talk.

  • @dudepal187 lol! now that you mention it, yeah, it is kind of like that movie :) Well, not exactly, but one basic idea. Loved that movie, and love this talk :)

  • Videos like this are why I subscribe to TED.

  • Best teacher of Social Science ever!!!

  • Pretty impressive.

  • impressive

  • what an amazing concept! to be certified as a professional by the services that you can provide by and to your community and buildings that are built to last based on what the land provides and finally an education that is useful according to what is needed. I can't think of a better way of what and how it was meant to be.

  • I have to say, this WAS pretty spectacular. :P

  • What an amazing man.

  • 20 people who dislike this video probably went to "very good" expensive private schools... just saying. :P

  • Great video! You did take me to another world, a wonderful one.

Hopefully this will make people come back down to Earth :)

    LOVELY! :)

  • kind of speechless. fucked up my school over here, i wish i had the balls to drop everything here, leave with the clothes on my back and go leanr there..

  • Fucking shit.

    Holy fucking shit awesome.

  • hahahah he would be a really realy gud comedian. not that what he's saying is funny. but his voice, is perfect for it, the tone. and the jokes he did make were hilarious :D

  • simply amazing - this is real education!

  • What a guy!

  • ahuough... hey's akcent is funni

  • For fuck's sake!

Do not equate barefoot with poverty!

  • Fantastic! One of the best TED Talks I've seen in a while!

  • Cool school, I like the decentralized and bottom-up approach. Only thing I dislike is indoctrinating them with the tyranny of the majority from such young ages.

  • I could maybe donate, how can?

  • Incredible! I loved hearing about the project.

  • AWESOME SPEECH!! AWESOME PROJECT!!!

  • This is so awesome it make me tear up :(

  • Sweden Woho!

  • Best TED talk i have seen..he is very wise man

  • Now this is a TRUE feminist!

  • This was the most spectacular Ted Talk I have ever seen.

  • @sibnova Indeed :)

  • Oh my God, this guy is brilliant!!

  • This is the kind of TEDTalks story that brings me back for more. Please stay at or near this quality of subject matter.

  • Private school efforts in India are doing wonderful things. Voluntary cooperation of interested individuals can accomplish anything, everything.

  • Where do they get the money for those expensive solar power units? This is an amazing improvement for those villages, great job.

  • @PoooTeeWeet "He saw people dieing of hunger for the first time." exactly. He saw people, people who were dying of hunger for the first time.

  • @NewgroundsOwnSBB It's obvious what the context was. Geezus. It's people like you man.

  • and it is water prove for at lest 35 years?! :D

  • Awesome

  • Absolutely fantastic talk!

  • this gives me so much hope! I'm going to watch this a lot of times.

  • Indian Here - I invite all of you to come to India and travel the rural landscape! It is beautiful and you get to meet simple people with big hearts.

  • Badass.

  • "Tell her I'm the prime minister."

    Win! :)

  • this is perfect. utilizing the talent and the skills of the common people, to better the community instead of forcing them to first get certificates and other bureaucratic red tape.

  • Brilliant! YIKES!?! ...suddenly I found myself standing and clapping too (spontaneous~yes ...embarrassed~a bit ...thankfully I'm by myself)

we do indeed have all of our solutions right in front of us if we would just work together ...there are very wise people everywhere sharing their knowledge freely

  • that's the most relaxing voice I've ever heard.

  • I'm in love with this!!!!!

  • THis is a dentist: Iliterate. Well wha kind of a stupid thing is it that you can go to this college and don't learn to read and write?!?

The basic idea that poor people have talent to offer is a good one but wouldn't it be better if they also learned to read? Not being able to read makes it very hard to leave a community.

  • @reafdaw01 I also think that literacy is important. But I think they don't need to and won't leave their community. You heard the speaker said men are untrainable because they always want to leave the community, but on the contrary, women stay (or they are forced to stay because of social custom) and develop self-reliant local community. He also mentioned that the solution is from the within, people on the ground, and not from the outside.

  • @SunE6792 You make a lot of good points. I just think this hints that maybe these schools aren't all perfect. It sounds to me like there is a clear ideologie there, clear ideas about the nature of men and women and their place in society. Maybe this is not so but I remain skeptical. The thought of grandmothers explaining to officials and engieneers how to instal solar instalations is epic though.

  • @SunE6792 I thought that odd also. While the college no doubt improves the lives of the people, being illiterate does keep them in their place. Literacy is power.

  • But does this help ,to improve people lifes in village, or its our acceptance that they will live like than forever and improve little bits

  • @GameDoctor21 I am not sure how they really live. Yet what do you mean by improving their village life? If they have food and water, housing, and solar energy, they can probably lead a self-reliant life. And also if they rediscover their abilities and talents and don't always think only those who have "certificate" are smart people, they may thrive on their own.

  • @SunE6792 maybe you are right

  • EPIC! HAHA

  • What an amazing concept, i really think the future of human civilization depends on the people united as a whole, not a monetary system nor a political reform. All it takes is for the people to love one another to respect and care for everybody to properly progress in a united world society..

For me this shows the real power of what people can do, we are beautiful intelligent people and working together we can do things we cant even imagine.

  • Wouldn't you say, they best life is a simple life?

  • This is amazing, too much emphasis is being put on what degree someone has and from where. This seems like a much better system it looks like it takes hard work, but, it allows a person to create and take chances and ultimately produces results. These people look happy, they are living their lives and doing something real to better our world

  • His mic is really annoying me. Fantastic speech though

  • Nobody is entitled to more than $100 month. You come for money? forget it. You come for work & challenge? with pleasure. How about Obama, who seems to be running out of IDEAS, forgets about greed for a moment and listens to someone who knows the only way to make humanity survive. If we don't rise up against the system that's controlling us, we will lose and die

  • @cyberdems You're an idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • @jASTDK I think you missed the principle in what I said (ie you missed the whole point entirely). Then you still called me an idiot. Talk about irony being unleashed via hypocrisy in its purest form. You should really hypothesize/reason through your thoughts in your own mind before just opening your mouth to lash out and criticize someone else about something you're either clearly clueless about (and probably think you know too much about). Prove how I'm the idiot, or you're the idiot, frankly.

  • I thought my running was about to improve.

  • I definitely thought this was going to be about walking and ergonomic strides or something. Pleasantly surprised.

  • Just what I needed :)

  • "A water diviner is a professional"

    Lost all credibility right there.

  • @Barkspawn well, a water diviner is a professional con artist so his statement isn't entirely untrue ;)

  • @photographer85

Funnily enough, I mentioned this to a friend and he said the exact same thing.

  • @d3st88 although your comment has been flagged as spam I'll overlook the language and answer (just in case you were being sincere) He did say "bonesetter" A bonesetter in an individual that is skilled in resetting bones after a break has occurred. The skill includes physical techniques combined with herbal knowledge.

one botanical example is the plant 'Comfrey' which is commonly known in some cultures as 'knitbone'

    hope this has been helpful

  • @gaiagale Even if d3st88 did not use this information, it was helpful to me. Thank you for your knowledge!

  • @ckramer24 my pleasure ...thank-you for 'seeing' and for making time to reply

    respect
