I kind of don't understand whats happening here....it seems like where they landed, Tranquility Base, lies a giant transformer. So, what does that have to do with the command module losing contact with Houston when its behind the moon? Is Michael Bay suggesting that they landed on the far side of the moon as well? @iakny in the movie it appears that they use the "dark side of the moon" story to fool the media while they cut visual feeds to investigate the downed craft. In the movie, as the men approach it, you can see clear light so they did not move far from their original landing.
