@fumbaxt no that fight shouldn't have been stopped, a lot of the elbows were being deflected by Hammill's elbows & forearms, it seems like only 25%-30% of the strikes on the ground landed, I think Jones got frustrated & started throwing those cause it's not like he came out throws thows when the fight went to the ground. That wasn't Mazzagati's fault, that was Jones's fault.

first of all it was all the reffs fault for not stoping it. even if the shot didn't hurt hamil at all he was stuck and could not get out the rule is if a fighter is stuck and is taking damage and cannot get out they have to stop the fight so the fighter does not get excessive damage. if the fight didn't stop their he should have stop the fight at the first elbow or given an warning.
and it should have been no contest because jones was winning. the fight with shinya and jz is a prime example.
90% of the punches that Jones threw were partially blocked, and Hamill was still working to get out of that position. It makes no sense when you say "it should have been no contest because jones was winning" WHO GIVES A FUCK IF HE WAS WINNING, he threw an illegal elbow and should be punished for it. By your same logic, whoever is winning the fight can use any illegal move and not be punished? So if one fighter is winning, than he can eye gouge and punch the crotch and only get a no contest?

- While Houston was circling in Rd 1, Kimbo didn't care and just stood there the entire time
- Only checked like 1 leg kick
- Couldn't submit Houston on the ground, despite Houston having none.
- Gassed out

* Hammil should not have won the fight via DQ. It should be ruled a N.C. It doesn't make sense for someone to win as a result of getting destroyed.
* Ref should have stopped that fight earlier - wasn't intelligently defending himself

why should it be a no contest? Jon Jones used an illegal blow and Matt Hamil couldn't continue after it.

first of all it was all the reffs fault for not stoping it. even if the shot didn't hurt hamil at all he was stuck and could not get out the rule is if a fighter is stuck and is taking damage and cannot get out they have to stop the fight so the fighter does not get excessive damage. if the fight didn't stop their he should have stop the fight at the first elbow or given an warning.
and it should have been no contest because jones was winning. the fight with shinya and jz is a prime example.

90% of the punches that Jones threw were partially blocked, and Hamill was still working to get out of that position. It makes no sense when you say "it should have been no contest because jones was winning" WHO GIVES A FUCK IF HE WAS WINNING, he threw an illegal elbow and should be punished for it. By your same logic, whoever is winning the fight can use any illegal move and not be punished? So if one fighter is winning, than he can eye gouge and punch the crotch and only get a no contest?

i think the point is that Hamill was eing dismantled, fighting for your life is alot different than actually having a place to go, the blow was illegal, but inconsequential. Hammil was done for , Jones had his arm pinned dislocated hammils shoulder, and just smashed his face. illegal elbow or notg, jones clearley won the fight

i also said it was also the reffs fault for not stoping the first elbow and give a warning, and i bet you anything matt could not shake him off plus one of his hands were hurt so bad he couldn't use it to block. It should have been no contest because no one won. i could understand if he got a warning and continue to do the elbows, but he didn't because steve is the worst ref in the ufc.
