Darren McFadden, Micheal Bush, Justin Fargas and Adrian Peterson are my favorite RB's. Even though Justin plays for Denver, he will always be a Raider to me.
Dmac's a better football player. AP's the better back (if he stops fumbling). NFL and college, his team only wins when he plays well. He ran over the SEC's best defenses with all 11 men in the box. NFL, he's on one of the worst teams, and still has a solid average. AP has always been on a good team. Nonetheless, he's fast and super strong.

@hawgsfan5 now that raiders o-line is playing amazingly mcfadden has shown all of the people crying bust what arkansas fans knew he was capable of doing. if that o-line gets a bit more discipline to cut down on the penalties the raiders are going to the play-offs for sure.

I can't believe that so many people are CONVINCED that McFadden is better than Peterson. That's not to say that it's wrong to think McFadden may end up being great but admit it's just merely speculation at this point.
The only thing that has slowed Peterson down is injuries and clearly McFadden isn't immune to injury problems as well.
After year 1 McFadden has still yet to prove anything. He may well do it this year but he's got a long way to go before that point.

I loved Reggie Bush and AP was amazing to... them were top 3... Dmac is a beast and if the raiders give him the ball and he stays healthy he could dominate... DMAC avg 5.6 yards per touch... he had 782 yards on 142 touches... that is higher then chris johnson 5.1 yards per touch... And that is taking numbers from a year with two turf toes

I am a Razorback fan and enjoyed seeing McFadden play. I did not see much of Peterson as I am a SEC guy. But the best back I have ever seen is Bo Jackson, hands down.

I disagree. McFadden seems to have more speed because he was timed better in the 40 but Peterson hits full speed just as fast as Mcfadden and probably has a higher top end. I've watched both get ran down but none as embarressing as Mcfadden against the Chiefs. Pollard would've never caught Peterson!

I'm not going sit here and tell you that McFadden is a better Running Back than AP, but McFadden wasn't thrust into the same situation as AP was his rookie year, thus no chance to put up any numbers. McFadden was injured mid season but the last 6 or so games he was vastly underused and it puzzles me.Truth be told, these guys are similar runners and should both have good if not great careers.
Very good comparison. They are almost identical in their running styles. Neither is afraid of contact and both have crazy speed. Only difference is their O-lines.
Ehh that's the general idea. I doubt it though, MN has a terrible right tackle in Ryan Cook. An aging pro bowl center in Matt Birk that has lost a good deal of his performance. (or a young center in Sullivan, if Birk isn't resigned) T-Jack actually played pretty well this year, and was benched way to early. The only reason people believe he is so terrible is because of his performance against the Eagles but if we looked at performances against the Eagles only Kurt Warner looked good.
im a fan of kurt warner (full times ram fan and was a cardinals fan untilt hey moved out of st louis and we got the rams) but i feel they should have lost that game. To be honest if they didnt have a hall of fame (im calling it, kurt warner 2015 hall fo fame) quaterback and a all star reciever who is really the greatest threat in nfl.

AD is better. I don't know how ppl can say DMac is better when he has played two games in the NFL. The first was against Denver who had a HORRIBLE run D last year, yet DMac didn't do anything against them (he did have to share carries with Fargas, but AD shares carries with Taylor). AD has proven to be one of the 3 best running backs in the league, if not the best. DMac hasn't proved anything, YET. That said, I do believe AD is better and will have a better career.
yeah when peterson had 220 yards and 3 touchdowns with no fumbles it was against a top 10 run defense..dmac ran against the second worse run defense in the league and when peterson ran for 296 and 3 td it was against a top 10 defense too

All of D Mac's highlights are of him running through a humongous hole and out running everyone. No one ever touches him. AD simply had to do more to get his yards than run towards the endzone.

DMac hits the holes with explosion, and he's going to be like barber in the sense that you can't bring him down but he's more explosive. But Peterson actually had to work for his yards, the Ak Oline did 50% of the work for him.

I wouldn't go too far with the Sanders or Payton analogy. Peterson is much bigger than these two were and likes to run people over. While he has more moves in the open field than McFadden he definitely doesn't compare to Sanders in that regard.

McFadden is not stronger. I can't believe anyone would say that. Peterson constantly breaks tackles and flat out runs over people quite often. He's also seven pounds heavier than McFadden at an inch shorter which means he has a stockier build. Plus, Peterson has strong legs which McFadden lacks.
There should be no doubt about which one of these guys is stronger.

I disagree. McFadden seems to have more speed because he was timed better in the 40 but Peterson hits full speed just as fast as Mcfadden and probably has a higher top end. I've watched both get ran down but none as embarressing as Mcfadden against the Chiefs. Pollard would've never caught Peterson!

I'm not going sit here and tell you that McFadden is a better Running Back than AP, but McFadden wasn't thrust into the same situation as AP was his rookie year, thus no chance to put up any numbers. McFadden was injured mid season but the last 6 or so games he was vastly underused and it puzzles me.Truth be told, these guys are similar runners and should both have good if not great careers.

Ehh that's the general idea. I doubt it though, MN has a terrible right tackle in Ryan Cook. An aging pro bowl center in Matt Birk that has lost a good deal of his performance. (or a young center in Sullivan, if Birk isn't resigned) T-Jack actually played pretty well this year, and was benched way to early. The only reason people believe he is so terrible is because of his performance against the Eagles but if we looked at performances against the Eagles only Kurt Warner looked good.

there's a difference between 40 time speed and game speed..and Dmacs 4.27 run was unofficial his real combine time was 4.33 which is still faster the peterson 4.4..but peterson still seems faster on the field in the nfl then dmac does..

Yeah..read some of my comments and saw some typos but too lazy to fix them..sometimes my mind thinks something and my hands type something else..for the second time peterson has gotten 1000+ yards by the 9th game and we can actually compare the two backs now that they are in the nfl and Dmac has i think 300 rushing yards and peterson had like 1100 with a 6.3 YPC average..if i remember right peterson had a LCL injury which usually last 6 weeks to a full season but he's a wuss so he came back in 2

AD is better. I don't know how ppl can say DMac is better when he has played two games in the NFL. The first was against Denver who had a HORRIBLE run D last year, yet DMac didn't do anything against them (he did have to share carries with Fargas, but AD shares carries with Taylor). AD has proven to be one of the 3 best running backs in the league, if not the best. DMac hasn't proved anything, YET. That said, I do believe AD is better and will have a better career.

yeah when peterson had 220 yards and 3 touchdowns with no fumbles it was against a top 10 run defense..dmac ran against the second worse run defense in the league and when peterson ran for 296 and 3 td it was against a top 10 defense too

Adrian Peterson is far better than D Mac.
All of D Mac's highlights are of him running through a humongous hole and out running everyone. No one ever touches him. AD simply had to do more to get his yards than run towards the endzone.

DMac hits the holes with explosion, and he's going to be like barber in the sense that you can't bring him down but he's more explosive. But Peterson actually had to work for his yards, the Ak Oline did 50% of the work for him.
It'll be fun to watch how both careers compare in the NFL.

I agree 100 yards is a good day but it was against Missouri - you know one of the horrible Big 12 defenses I keep hearing you SEC guys talk about. Missouri shut him down much better than most SEC teams did.

OH I love AP, but I think 20,000 yards is pushing it haha. You have to be really really durable to do that, you dont even need as much talent, mainly durability. I definitely think he can break the single season rushing record though, break the 300 yard mark, and maybe get close to if not break the TD record. It's gonna be interesting with a passing attack.

Peterson is like a Barry Sanders or Walter Payton
Mcfadden is like a Tyrell Davis or Erick Dickerson
Peterson is more patient and more creative in the open field with his moves
Mcfadden explodes through the seam , and get break though the secondary back without waisting any movement on jukes.
Peterson probably gets more out of running on plays in the open field, but Mcfadden will get more out of runs up the middle

McFadden is not stronger. I can't believe anyone would say that. Peterson constantly breaks tackles and flat out runs over people quite often. He's also seven pounds heavier than McFadden at an inch shorter which means he has a stockier build. Plus, Peterson has strong legs which McFadden lacks.
There should be no doubt about which one of these guys is stronger.
