  • I'm 6 years old, and I am now an atheist because of Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins. I spent many years studying all the major religious dogmas and was not impressed. Science and reason are my "religion" now.

i gotta go now, my mom is making pizza bites and I want to watch muppet babies.

  • @ToadsMGodes troll?

  • Dawkins just come to my school... please..!

  • Thank God I was brought up an atheist, lol!

  • "Faith means not wanting to know what is true."- Nietzche

  • stupid little ingrates!

  • if dawkins had've been my bio teacher i would have been rendered agog with the sheer awesomeness

  • Evidence unites, belief divides.

  • If Richard Dawkins ever came to my class i'd be constantly asking questions and taking notes, not just sitting there in silence doubting his theories.

  • man I keep fusing Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins name together :D

thought this may be a compliment

I WANT TO BE IN THAT CLASS SO BAD!!!!

  • @moviedude120796 That's because in a perfect world the two would merge like Voltron and bring reason and critical thinking to the masses. Add Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking and the world would be a magnificent place.

  • stupid little shits those london kids are

  • hold your horses people. god has a low chance of existence based on what point of reference? I mean were on a rock flying throughout space so like... how the fuck would you ever even start to assume anything maaaan. seriously think about it

  • @LeavittMusicService

    "spontaneous generation"... "inorganic matter"

    IDiot !

  • 7 people of religious beliefs who didn't even give this series a chance

  • @MeepullStewray OK, I ask you a question. Neo-Darwinism claims the mechanism driving evolution is "mutation and natural selection". Serious question: what is the science behind that? When we observe what mutation do, they certainly do not bring any individual forward. Pretty much all mutations we see are detrimental or neutral. Now what is this theory "mutation and natural selection" based on? IMHO, it is not science, but the necessity to find something that explains life we see around us.

  • @petermoel2 Why are you dismissing fossil evidence? That's certainly more than any religion has to offer.

  • @MeepullStewray - I do not dismiss fossil evidence or any evidence. That's what I said below, evolution and creation have exactly the same evidence.

Evolutionists sort fossils by size and feature, their *interpretation* is common descent.

Creation looks at the same fossils and interprets this as evidence for a big flood.

Darwin already said, the missing links in the fossil record are a problem for the theory. So "punctuated equilibrium" was invented. Sorry, this is not science.

  • @MeepullStewray You say "this is more than any religion has to offer". This is not science vs religion, this is religion vs religion.

If anything, evolution is a religion, because you have to believe that species A evolved from species B.

Beyond similarities, what do you have? And similarities do not necessarily show common descent, they can be explained equally by a common designer., or creator. And that you deny a Creator has nothing to do with science.

  • @MeepullStewray - Actually, I forgot something in the other post. It is not simply ""mutation and natural selection", but ""mutation, natural selection and very long periods of *time*". Most evolutionists will freely admit they don't know how *exactly* life evolved, but they say that because we have billions of years, it somehow happened. Again - IMHO, this is not science, but a philosophy, a worldview. What they cannot explain, they attribute to "time". This is as religious as creationism.

  • @petermoel2 You have too admit that living your life for science, or without belief has more evidence though, surely.

  • @MeepullStewray Sorry - don't understand what you want to say.

But I guess you want to say evolution = science, creation = religion. Sorry, both evolution and creation are not subject to operational science, we interpret the evidence based on our worldviews and presuppositions. They are equally religious in nature.

  • @petermoel2 Erm no. Creationists have decided from the get-go that there is a creator or a flood and will pick only that which "supports" that position. That is not science, that is wishful thinking.

Evolution, as any good science, can be falsified by, as J.B.S. Haldane put it, "rabbit fossils in the pre-Cambrian". So far, no such fossils have been found.

  • @TomFynn There are plenty of problems with the fossil record in regards of evolution. But if there is anything that contradicts evolution (that is slime to man evolution) it is simply dismissed.

Also evolutionists believed in evolution from the get-go. Darwin pointed out eg the problem of the missing links, which is still a problem today.

Creation is religious, but so is evolution. Evolutionists say "long periods of time and chance" when creationists say "God the Creator".

  • @petermoel2 i know i will get little out of this exchange but do it anyways.

People aren't evelutionists for one if they accept evolution, which is indeed a fact. Change over time can actually be observed, and yes into a new species in fact with organism that reproduce rapidly, as it would be the case with virus or bacteria.

And no one dismiss anything factually real that contradicts evolution.. because there has not been anything yet..

    You're and idiot. Congrats :D

  • @Dimajo When you are finished wasting my and everyones time with posting insults and attitude - what is the scientific fact that convinced you that evolution is true?

I am not talking *interpretation* of fact, but fact.

And to make sure we talk about the same thing, I talk "slime to man evolution" or "common descent". Nobody denies we can observe changes, changes/adaptation can be observed. However, common descent exists only in the heads of evolutionists, not in the evidence.

  • @petermoel2 It is funny seeing you make all the points as the other debunked creationists such as kent hovind etc. it shows that you have not learned anything other than what has been spoon fed.

I already explained macro evolution not only micro, the rapidly reproducing organism mentioned earlier is capable of becomming a new species in a persons life span, actually alot faster than that.

So Macro evolution is also observable. Btw you can't believe in micro, without accepting macro.

  • @Dimajo You seem unable or unwilling to answer my question. What simple scientific fact has convinced you that evolution is true? Not interpretation of science, but science? You keep you statements very general and I cannot see a simple fact from operational science. You also seem to display an arrogant attitude. Creation has not been debunked, if anything evolution has failed to "evolve" past a religion worldview.

  • @petermoel2

Before I click on the next video, I'd thought I'd just stop by and say....creationist will never be swayed by evidence, they'll interpret it as god's greatness. Creation can't be fully debunked, because of peoples ignorance and overwhelming fear of dying. Evolution is a fact though, as much of a fact as you were once an infant. Just because your baby pictures were weathered away doesn't change the fact.

  • @petermoel2 if you need further education my number one recommendation is, get an ecucation. an easier step read books upon the subject, actually understand and learn evolution not just regurtitate what debunked criminal creationists claim.

An EVEN easier step, watch "why do people laugh at creationists part 19" and then read a small bit about the exact thing that confuses you.

Evolution is simply a fact, it has neverb been disputed by anyone who understands it.

    Have a nice day. (better?)

  • @Dimajo What makes you think I am not educated? I believed in evolution longer than I believe creation. As a believer in evolution, you would have accepted my education as sufficient, because I shared your belief. But now I believe in creation, and you accuse me of being an uneducated idiot. See the pattern?

Science or education are not the issue. Worldview is the issue.

If you believe science is the issue, try scientific arguments for a change. So far you only show attitude.

  • those kids don't know how to argue about religion . They humiliated themselves in a sense because of lack of religious knowledge . Dawkins felt easy to argue with them since he was mature and older and can easily play with young minds . Most of you must have also been gullible enough to believe word to word exactly what dawkin said . Science and religion go hand in hand . The bible as is proven by history has been corrupted by wars, tampering , and much more . science brings people closer to god

  • @magicalgold010 I agree these kids cannot argue about religion very well and Dawkins uses his experience and training as an unfair advantage. These kids are derailed easily.

However, the Bible has not been corrupted, it is a solid basis. There are plenty manuscripts to assure nothing has been changed. Also (and especially) the KJV is a very true translation. But that is a totally different topid.

  • "I refuse to look at evidence if it contradict my holy fairytale" so very very sad.

  • It's like watching a game of soccer/football, seeing the game end 5-0 (5 being science's score) and then trying to argue that you've won by having 0 points.

  • @The727stpete727 What science do you have in mind?

I'm not asking for *interpretation* of science, I'm sure there is plenty of that. I'm asking for actual fact or operational science.

Anyway, evolution and creation have exactly the same evidence and science at their disposal. But because of the different worldview and presuppositions, the interpretation is very different. I find that evolutionists often cannot see where evidence/fact/science stops and where interpretation starts.

  • Dawkins manages to confuse a few teenagers, great job for an Oxford professor. Why not get in front of the camera with someone "his own size"? Anyway, Dawkins sells people is worldview, not science. He just calls it science.

  • @petermoel2 if you think any of this was confusing you are a moron. Confusing starts with string theory not with evolution

  • @sondano You can call my "moron" as often as you like. That just makes you look bad and shows you have no arguments.

Besides - did you even watch the video? He does not present evidence without interpretation and lets these students decide for themselves if evolution is true. He comes along a the great professor from Oxford and makes general statements, *claiming* evolution is true.

  • @petermoel2 What science do you mean? Can you summarize for me? There are many claims in the video - where is the science?

  • @petermoel2 You should give his other documentaries a look my friend. He takes the fight to people his own age as well

  • @MeepullStewray I watched a fair few of Dawkins documentaries and I have to say I find that almost painful. Dawkins has a talent to make his worldview look like "scientific fact".

Anyway, in this particular case he makes some Christian teenage school students look bad - great achievement for an Oxford professor.

When he still tried to debate Creationists, he looked rather helpless. That's I guess why he stopped this.

  • o my gawd these kids can't even comprehend his awesomeness let alone reality haha

  • Can't we just call it the "Law of Evolution" to avoid confusion?

  • @RationalAtheism we already have "the laws of science" and the religious nuts fight that tooth and nail lol

  • @shcnoozlebop

They do get confused easily don't they... ;)

  • @shcnoozlebop You tell me what factual evidence convinced you that evolution is true. Try to leave out any interpretation, but present only the evidence. Let's see if what you say convinces me evolution is true.

  • Once a person states that they don't care if their beliefs are true or not, the conversation is over.

The good news is that science doesn't require belief.

  • Richard Dawkins is hot

  • These kids are forced to believe in their religion. They would never be able to tell their parrents that they no longer believe. So no matter what Richard says here, they will still stay religious. But im sure they know that he is right.

  • @Krauz85 probably deep down, you know, they're putting 2+2 together, but some peoples' minds just can't comprehend what other peoples' can. that's why you get people who run away from religious cults while a lot don't, and the same in a lot of other bad lifestyle situations.

  • by age 16 i was an athiest. I have my science teacher to thank for opening my eyes. Great guy. By this age they should really have their own thoughts developing. I find it so surprising an weird how people who you would think are smart, hold on to these old superstitious beliefs.

  • these kids have NO idea how fortunate they are for having DAWKINS in their classroom

  • Im very glad my mother were as liberal christian as she was, alowing me to deicide for myself when i questiond religion at age 5 or 6 when i learned that there were more than one religion. I feel really sorry for any kid who is brought up in a onesided enviorment.

  • Lucky bastards, i'm 13 and if i was ever in the same room as Dawkins i would lose my mind. His book "The God Delusion" is the reason i became an Atheist.

  • @TheJokky12 your a funny 13 year old

  • @TheJokky12 Good stuff. ^^ "The Selfish Gene" is another good one.

  • @TheJokky12 I'm 13 too, and I would do exactly the same :D

  • @TheJokky12 13... nice!

  • I understand the vital nature that propels RD's forceful presentation to these students. But it is also plainly visible how strident the parents will be when they find out about his visit. This isn't just school, this is intellectual/spiritual war.

It is so simple to understand how many high school science teachers feign away from teaching against generational belief... even if it's the only way we are going to save our damn species from ourselves. This isn't new, Socrates died for it.

  • DAWKINS IS GOOOOOD!!!!!!!!

  • Jealous of those kids. Wish Dawkins had come to my science class :(

  • where is the whole thing? this only shows clips after it's all edited >< i cant find the full thing!

  • It's embarrassing to see what those kids say.

    Religious brainwashing is incredibly effective.

  • in 4:28 damn those are some ignorant kids

  • You should put a link to the next part in the description of each

  • Dawkins is kind of a dick.

  • You will realize that if the Divine light of truth shone in Jesus Christ it also shone in Moses and in Buddha. The earnest seeker will arrive at this truth. This is what is meant by the Search after Truth. Science must be accepted because Faith without Science is nothing more than religous tradition! Evolution with the help of natural selection is the best way to explain human origins and all of life origins

  • Science must be accepted. No one truth can contradict another truth. Light is good in whatsoever lamp it is burning! A rose is beautiful in whatsoever garden it may bloom! Be free from prejudice, so will you love the Sun of Truth from whatsoever point in the horizon it may arise!

  • 3:58 - 4:03 oh snap

  • @lisanti42 reminds me of all the kids in my old high schools stance on scientific proof. Could he go to my old school please and knock some heads together? Or better yet come to my college and give a lecture.

  • 3:06 Richard Dawkins - Master Stalker

  • I so a tree man thas this person evolv ?...but was it about sickness or simply they are born that way or was it that the body of a person it self was born to form/evolv?

  • 3 :49 right you're a tard

  • I would faint if Richard came to my school

  • There is no gene for "race".

  • So sad that even at 15 years of age some of those children seemed to have already closed their minds to new ideas.

Oh well, I guess McDonalds' has to get its staff from somewhere.

  • LOL good one

  • Thank you Dawkins channel! :)

  • Comment removed

  • The true beauty of Evolution is that it dispels the myth of race. If we all come from a common ancestor then we are all the same race. We are all brothers and sisters.

If we were all created in our present form then we are all separate races. The evidence is truthfully astounding that race within a species is a myth.

  • @atchisrj1 well, you see "race" is just a term to separate individuals within the same species, that have significant differences :) and whether 2 individuals are the same species requires them to be able to reproduce with each other! however, scientists have proven that THERE IS NO GENETIC RACES within the species of the human being! :)

  • @atchisrj1

We also have common ancestors with kangaroos and sharks, even with avocados. By your logic, species, genus, phylum, and kingdom would also be discarded.

Race is real. It's just not a decent basis for how to treat people.

  • @jursamaj What? What a perversion of logic you're statement was. I never said anything about genus, phylum or, kingdom. If you read my comment again you will see that I said race in species. Do the world a favor...

    Don't be a moron!

  • @atchisrj1

What difference between "If we all come from a common ancestor then we are all the same race" and "If we all come from a common ancestor then we are all the same species", or genus, etc.? I merely extended your statement to it's natural conclusion:

I & a black man have a common ancestor, therefore we are the same race (your claim).

I & a fish have a common ancestor, therefore (same logic) we are the same race. To be the same race, we would have to be same species, genus, etc.

  • @jursamaj Race and species are interchangeable terms. ie. Human race/Human species. Get it? We "humans" are cousins to fish, plants and, all other life on this planet. You are far over reaching with you're interpretation of my comment.

  • @atchisrj1

Wait, I thought we were talking about science. You *did* make the scientific claim that "Evolution ... dispels the myth of race". In biology, race and species are *not* interchangeable. For instance, Key lime and Mexican lime are the same species, but separate races.

  • @jursamaj Maybe you should research the Human Genome project.

  • @atchisrj1

I know about the project. What do you think it has to do with the distinction between species and race as used in biology?

  • i meant stupid lol

  • these british kids are so fucking stuoid.. i feel bad for them LMAO

  • Me too, but I gotta say though, I would be a shuddering fuck tard if I were speaking to Dawkins. They are actually exchanging in a convo with him, a back and forth dialog, even if what comes out of there mouth is crap, I;m still impressed.

  • some people just have got the balls to spew out crap xD

  • Atheist all over the world proudly defend rational thinking

  • i have a kind of scary feeling that these kids would face some kind of domestic abuse if they came home atheists after talking to richard dawkins, like the video were the mother screams in a child's face after learning that he had become an atheist!

  • I seriously do believe, that if I came home telling my mother I had impregnated a female (let us assume a girlfriend I had secretly) my mother would not react as violently (not physically) as if I had told her I had become an Atheist. No doubt in my mind exists about that.

  • @bfoaliali lol, wtf?

  • Richard DAwkins is my idol

  • Daft Punk is mine. :-)

  • wow even american children have answered better.

    Calm down, im american.

  • feckin' 'el, these kids are so unbelievably stupid. Especially the Jewish dork who really ought to have just sat at the back of the classroom and kept quiet. Then again, maybe the blonde kid was the dumbest with that "I believe it cuz I go to church every week". Urgh, fuckin spastic children, they all need slapped about!

  • I feel sorry for them though - their parents obviously raised them that way. I was lucky enough to be raised in a non-brainwashing family, and to have an extremely good scientific education (particularly at the age these kids were).

  • Yea the public school kids beleive what theyre told. I went to catholic school when i was young and that i beleive is the fastest way to convert kids to atheists. Once they realize the contradictions and nonsensical teachings in the bible.

  • I don't think i was ever that retarded.

I doubt they actually believe the crap they are saying, they just feel they need to say something because they're on tv

  • it just shows that the way parents bring their children up can cloud their minds to great lengths.

  • This is beautiful!

Beliefs can and should be challenged , true empirical knowledge is beyond challenge.

  • Dawkins is a genius.

  • Atheism FTW!

    Evolution FTW!

    God = Fail

  • It's called research. Some modern humans are simply not as evolved as the rest of us. Who and why?

Take Ray Comfort and his banana. In evolutionary terms, he is just a chimp playing with his food, while the rest of us strive for the stars.

  • Life, Darwin & Everything=42?

  • 42?

  • Read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

  • Oh, definitely! Fantastic book (as is the rest of the series).

  • @dawkinschannel, in order to understand the joke, look for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

  • @dawkinschannel Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy!

  • @dawkinschannel

42 is a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference haha

  • LooooooooL too bad most wont understand

  • Yeah. People don't read these days.

  • Except the ones that do

  • @StanRather And the other ones that do as well.

  • I'm so relieved that we, as Americans, don't have a monopoly on the blind religious idiocy market.

Very good to see that London, for all their refinement, have dumb kids and useless scriptural rhetoric.

  • Sadly it seems we British cherish our eccentric folk a little too much. Just think of us as California with more rain and considerably less sunshine ;-)

  • sigmund freud wrote a book called 'the future of an illusion' nearly a century before the publication of the god delusion. History keeps repeating itself yet people dont listen and just carry on living in their comfortable little fairy tales.

  • those teenagers are so lucky i am 16 and if dawkins came to my class room i would go bonkers he is my hero

  • if only I had the fortune to have Richard Dawkins come to my school when I was there - lucky little buggers.

  • "this lot got me"

If only I were so lucky :D

  • The start of this video is sooo damn scary. "Yes it's alright to believe something only because you were told to, even though it's massively unsupported".

    Nice :-/

  • I think, who don`t understand evolution.... is someone who never live as human, because never ever use is brain. Dawkins is right when he says "that people never die, because they never live by themselfs"

  • ,.. how Christian like..

  • You're a Christian?

You add to the pile of evidence that Christians are moronic scum.

  • Haha, it's so true.

  • Man those kids are retarted i want to jump on there heads. Jesus there teens arnt they supposed to start thinking a little.

  • I'm afraid they're brainwashed by religious motherf*ckers.

  • If you consider rampage, butchery and rape pleasurable, then I seriously pity you and fear for those around you.

Our moral intuitions are innate within us, which is a demonstrable fact. Read 'the selfish gene', look up Kohlberg's stages of moral development, or go to google scholar and type in "moral development". Puka is another good source. We most certainly do not get our moral intuitions from any holy book or supernatural source.

  • ...Just read the Bible for directions on how to do that properly...lol

  • turntochrist says: "lets all go and rampage the world and rape all the nice girl women and butcher everyone, forget even going to work lets butcher people and take their daughters for pleasure"

    quote mine ftw :P

  • you sir, are a moron.

  • well i think it's wrong to tell 5th graders there is an invis sky daddy

  • thats very true

everyone has the right to say anything against or for the idea of god existing

its a personal choice you make in life

  • This is why you are a shithead.

Let's see, Dawkins has a PhD, and you have...?

    5th grade grammer, point made.

  • "...this lot got me". Duh duh duh. lol

  • Man, I wish Dawkins took me on a field trip @_@,+! I'd squee like a mall brat and cling to him all the way.

  • Great!

    Thanks for posting man.

  • these kids are retarded

  • Actually they're indoctrinated.

Though both have similar effects on science education.

  • Its not the fact that they are indoctrinated. The arguments for their belief in god are not coherant.

  • i wish he'd come to my school :/

  • lol, hes scaring those kids....lol

  • Baffles me how few hits this channel/videos has. Well done to the 918 so far! May it continue to enrich your lives.

  • You can see at the 5:00 minute mark that he's really shocked at what he's hearing from those kids.

    These are great videos.

  • I just had a creationist on another thread tell me:

"I know all about Pangea... The Bible, too, suggests ONE LAND, while humans did exist! Under that one land were reservoirs of water, and the Flood catastrophe made the oceans' valleys were the Flood waters went into. There is still water under the surface. The Genesis Flood was what caused the continental drift, which happened quickly during and after the Flood. Earthquakes and faultlines are results of that Flood."

    How should I crush em?

  • Ask him where did that reservoirs of water came from and how did it formed and when did it formed? Ask for scientific references, sites or books...

Genesis flood caused the continental drift? My goodness tell him to go back and re-study in elementary and High School.

  • looking at the truth of the matter.

  • This is so sad. A creative, enlightening and important video has (at the moment) less than 1,000 views whereas crap about aliens, evil Jews and symbols on the dollar receive millions. It is really true that only a few individuals stand above the others and take the lead.

Keep up the good work, which explains so much clearer and easier than all the absurd myths requiring caveats, exceptions and nonsense.

  • yah, but if it had millinos of veiws, creationist would have flagged this vid like crasy, and youtube would remove it because its offensive, thats youtube for you.

  • LOL, your comment made me laugh, I agree with you 100% there smb12321.

  • I think you are mistaking somebody enthusing about the first of five videos with a complete wanker wanting to be the first to comment.

But then perhaps your reply was very ironic.
