  • Yes. This is Lord of the Dance.

I have it on fucking tape and DVD.

    And it isn't an ENSEMBLE*

    It's one woman.

    Erin something or other.

So, go fall in a hole now plz. c:

  • I love you XD Bsu

Yes, it is from Lord of the Dance. Many singers sing this song, but this particular one is from LotD. A very beautiful performance, I do say so myself.

  • Thank you!

    xD

  • It's Anne Buckley, her character's name is Erin the Goddess. Wikipedia is soooo helpful sometimes. Just don't use it for History or Science homework.

And it is only her singing, and I don't want to fall in a hole thnx. ^^

  • Yeah, that!

I can never remember her name.

    Sankyuu.

  • this song makes your soul freeze

  • Love the song! Hate the fact that YouTube is also about the video and all you showed is a title card.

  • You'll be disappointed a lot on YT.

  • Pretty!

  • It is, isn't it, Drowzee? You should see all of Lord of the Dance. I do have a few more videos that I'll want to add to my stream from this.

  • What a wonderful voice... so soft and sweet. I like it:)

  • Whenever you want a quality music production, you can count on the Irish to give creative and emotional moving, excellent performances.

I agree with aubiece03. The Irish have endured horrible hardship and misery, yet they survived and I suppose the wonderful heartfelt music helped them survive. The Irsih have wonderful entertainers!

  • I already learning this song :D! Is there every body from Hungary?

  • it's a beautiful son, I'm absolutely in love with it now =]

    thank you for posting it!

  • well, the lord of the dance is basically a story.. this is kind of the sad moment of the story, if that helps any

  • uwielbiam to!! i całą płytę lord of the dance

  • I'll sell my rock, I'll sell my reel

I'll sell my only spinning wheel

And buy my love a sword of steel

Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán (And may you go safely, my darling)

I wish, I wish, I wish in vain

I wish I had my heart again

And vainly think I'd not complain

Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán (And may you go safely, my darling)

  • Thank you for posting the lyrics. :]

  • You're very welcome.

    I'm a she :)

  • I wish I were on yonder hill

Tis there I'd sit and cry my fill

Til every tear would turn a mill

Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán (And may you go safely, my darling)

Suil, suil, suil a ruin (Go, go, go, my love)

Suil go sochair agus suil go ciúin (Go quietly and go peacefully)

Suil go doras agus éalaigh liom (Go to the door and fly with me)

Is go dté tú mo mhúirnín slán (And may you go safely, my darling)

  • This is a song from the flight of the Irish Jacobites, a group of Irish catholic soldiers who were forced into exile. The song is the lament of a woman whose beloved was about to go into exile and wants for him to returm quickly and safely.

The Irish are a remarkable people. They have endured hardship and misery to become THE best place in the world to live.

Thanks for posting. LONG LIVE IRELAND AND IRISH WOMEN!

  • what does suil a ruin mean? I also don't get some of the lyrics. Is it Gaelic?

  • Gaelic, indeed.

Look at taniaoff's comments here, he or she posted the lyrics.

  • I'm surprised this was all the way back here; I thought it was one of the beautiful parts of it and loved watching her sing it more than once. I love Lord Of The Dance also and thanks for at least the thought of posting the song; so many clips of most of the other parts and none of this and only 8 thousand plus viewing it. I listened to it from Celtic Woman next to here but not near as beautiful as this. Thanks again.

  • I love Lord of the Dance! I also love the songs she sings in this. So beautiful...

  • suil, suil, suil a ruin

suil go sochair agus suil go ciuin

suil go doras agus ealaigh liom

is go dte tu mo mhuirnin slan

  • this song is so sad. I love it!
