  • minha música favorita do joy division

  • Raw..

  • like @billiam4 said they were practically just kids. they were'nt music experts by a long shot. gradually they managed to communicate their meaning and understanding through music and this became more dynamic and creative than any of them could have imagined. also if you haven't already i recommend listening to the bournemouth winter gardens live version. real mindblowing.

  • @ceremony1372 i dont no wat you think KIDS are was it a long time a go you went to churts

  • @marchel26666 i did'nt mean kids literally. just using it in a general way. like lads or whatever. yeah they were over 20 obviously. im just sayin

  • This tracks great way better than the rather lame album version, I'm sure not many people knew Ian was such a great Guitarist, So that makes Singer, Song writer and lyricist a complete performer.

  • @HazeFerRillz no love lost

  • Alguien me pode decir la cancion en la que el bajo es el instrumento principal? Grax

  • @cambiadecanal

    Isolation?

  • @cambiadecanal La cancion From Safety to Where es bueno por tocar el bajo

  • this is how music has to be.

  • @ronaldvanderkleij amen to that

  • wow and wow again!! love this video

  • I remember nothing but Joy Divisions outstanding music and sweet Ians godly voice...Thanks a lot for sharing:)

  • ...

  • How did Iggy and Bowie influence this brilliance? You know Ian had to have been in a dark place in his head to emulate it so masterfully through this music. I wish he could have stomped some of that out so he could still be here with us.

  • i was listening to a joy playlist i made for then, then i deleted. the song i heard had a hella alot of guitar and it kept building wondering if this was the one or is there more? anymore like that i am missing? i will have to look . poor me. heh

  • @HazeFerRillz The studio version of this song doesn't take this much time to build up and "begin". If it was another song you're referring to, it's probably Dead Souls.

  • @eatshitgoogle do you know any others with alot of instrumental ? and varying repetition / eratic like . im pretty sure it wasn't t dead souls. thanx for the look out & reply.

  • A W E S O M E ....

  • A M A Z I N G ! How I wish I'd been there...

  • I wonder if U2 got their idea from these song in Bullet the Blue sky. Also check you youtube/wisprworld

  • @wisprworld interesting thought

  • I wonder if U2 got their idea from these song in bullet the blue sky. Also check you youtube/wisprworld

  • A shit recording of a great performance. God dammit

  • Luv jd, but this is noise

  • give me headche which makes me feel better

  • "Soy el unico que ha subido este video". and so what???? that doesnot mean that the vidéo belongs to you!!! YOU didn't shot this vidéo!

  • Ian Curtis is ALIVE!!!!

  • my foundation.........

  • ...

  • Holy shit

  • One one the darkest performance I have ever seen.

Just try to imagine how Joy Division could change the music if they existed since today...

  • @gab136

i wouldnt want joy division to be in todays music scene. not a single band in todays mainstream music can hold a candle to joy division. jd's presence it to worthy to be in todays music scene

  • joy division 4ever!!!

  • JOY DIVISION IN A LONELY PLACE 5 MINITE PLUS VERSION!!! TYPE, JOY DIVISION IN A LONELY PLACE COMPLETE VERSION, IN TO YOU TUBE SEARCH.

    ds

  • I Remember Nothing ...

  • where was this ?

  • beginning sounds remarkably like u2's "bullet the blue sky" (?)

  • u mean u2 ripped off joy division, like when they wrote she's outta control, wonder where they got that title from.. shame they didn't have 1 thousandth the talent of JD. U" are a bunch of cocks... the EDGE, the edge of what??? he's the worst guitarist ever....

  • @mojaroar ..

Yes sir right you are...I like to call them Douche2

  • @mojaroar very true, sadly bland music can turn you into megastars. bono leaches onto anything that's cool - usually about 20 years after it's happened. He's done the same thing with Kraftwerk, now tries to make out they were an influence, I have no idea how

  • the sound is a bit distorted but otherwise this is better than the studio version

  • i love roug recordings myself. they sound so raw and personal than studio recordings

  • esta realmente genial

  • brasileiro fã de Joy é Dificiu ver heim husahusahusa

    adoro Joy

  • thinking ourselves darker than ancient hells, give us a sense of peace and rest ever seen, isn't it?

  • I saw them at the Rainbow Theatre April 4th in London, fascinating show. Though I perhaps did not appreciate as much then as I do now! He was dead in six weeks.

  • Damn u r so lucky...most of us can only dream of it...!!!

  • utterly brilliant! wish I had been there!

  • the perfect band for rediscovery on youtube

  • absolute masterpiece

  • first doom song

  • Joy Division are the MAESTROS of intense, dark, powerful, soul piercing music!!!

    Haunting & chilling as HELL!!!

  • Wonderful, but frightening... I don't hear this very often... it's probably the darkes song in music history.... shows how goths and black metallers are ridiculous when compared to this...

  • We almost see the dark souls around the band members...

  • My particulars obsessions revisited...

  • this song is so powerful and beautiful

    it literally gives me chills

this is amazing live footage thanks so much!

  • I wish, I had a time machine!

  • @carlamccoy yes...how true!

  • Joy Division are one of the giants of my youth, and they will accompany me for the rest of my life for certain.

This live version is so amazing touching onto industrial, it's pure genius. I recommend to play it loud as possible.

  • @Billiam4 I don't think my headphones will ever be loud enough lol! It's just amazing how something so powerful was made by a group of lads in their early 20's!? They were kids! It just gives me hope that I can do something like this but take it to the next level.

  • it takes some serious stones to play this song live. they succeeded brilliantly here.

  • Mesmerizing!. Thanks, Alicia, just missed the breaking glass.

  • JD does TG?

  • Muy buen video, Gracias por subirlo AliciaCurtis has de ser la esposa del Ian Curtis o su hermana?

  • This song sure sounds even more depressive and sinister live.

  • this is so slow and full of drone is almost doom.

    its fuckin genius!

  • strong

  • You obviously don't know joy division TRBNGR666 check out some other material they were a superb band.

  • Great guitar :)

  • this is fuckin amazing...love the drone!

  • i think it's one of the best and most intense JD songs, ever... either you get it, or you don't. they were WAY ahead of their time... wow.

    gracias por subirlo!

  • "Fuckin hell, this song is shite!"

Hmm...kind of surprised you write this. For me, this was the most powerful thing that they ever did, the whole video is absolutely majestic.

This song is simply unsurpassed, nobody ever did anything as powerful as this.

    Just awesome!

(btw, I didn't minus your comment, it's your opinion, that's your right!)

  • Well, Ian cashed in his chips just before they were supposed to play Tuts in Chcago, and I used to regret the cancellation, but now that I've seen this video, I REALLY fucking regret it! Beyond this world ...

  • I love the drone. I love the drone.

  • Thanks for digging up a video of this... strange stuff, not any less masterful

  • i love this song.

  • niesamowita piosenka i kurwa on ma zajebisty głos idealnie pasuje do muzyki

  • Joy Division, Wire and The Fall took music and destroyed it to make something completely new with what´s left. This was the greatest time of Rock&Pop. Nowaday´s not even underground can scratch on this.

  • sweet jesus

  • rare video, thanks for upload it!

  • ke rolooooonaa!

  • Their very best song.

  • Łał, daje poi berecie.

    I mean, good.

  • this just doesnt make sense who are these people where am i ooooo

  • Thank you.

  • la unica o el unico???

  • So good live.

  • best song

  • stop listening to great music then

    you may be allergic

  • there is nothing more you can remember

...there is nothing more you can feel

    ...what you are is nothing

...what you dream of is ilussion

  • -- speachless

  • So I now have the Here Are The Young Men VHS and can see where most of the rare live clips come from now.

  • Joy divisions most haunting song?

  • As cliche as it is, i'd still say Love Will Tear Us Apart is the most haunting. Gives me a shiver everytime i hear it.

  • defo

    and new dawn fades

  • i agree, also most underrated

  • so true

  • another stunning joy division video

  • er, well, the lead singer hanging himself sort of threw a spanner in the works really...

  • it did kinda did nt it whatever happened to this band indeed

  • *Post punk

  • This is probably Eindhoven 1980 or possibly it is Leuven.

  • @4N3Y No this was from The Apollo.

  • @RiotNrrrdUTube

Was this ever released on anything besides the video tape "Here Are The Young men"?

  • @monkeytek unknown pleasures album

  • @birdandthe

    Thanks, I meant this version!

  • @monkeytek No, just on HATYM.

  • If it wasn't for Martin Hannett's mastery in electronic sound effects Barney wouldn't know what to do at that time with that sound board!

  • And you think he would now :)

  • jd are great at instrumental build ups. deads souls, no love lost to but name 2. the tension is palpable by the time ian curtis begins to sing. superb.

  • great footage.

    thank you for the video.

  • un gran coñazo, pero porlomenos a alguien les gusta.

  • Hail to the Ian!

    Just great.

  • You can hear the forshadowing of so many bands that followed and flat out copied this sound. How many many come to mind!!! Incredibly talented and way ahead of their time. Muchas gracias.

  • This is really ominous and creepy!

  • WOOW como me impresiona esta Banda! demasiado adelantados para su epoca!,para mi son uno los padres del rock alternativo, apenas puedo creer que esto haya sido grabado en los 70's! descanse en paz IAN CURTIS
