  • set fire to the driver for the minor inconvenience :)

well push bike brakes aren't as goodas motorised vehicles as long as you can see your braking distance your ok i think.

  • @stevekayjackkay if it was a child the child shouldnt be out playing in the street in the first place and he has proberley done more dammage to his bike than the car also the driver should of looked or keep moving and it dosnt matter the speed he aswas going its the thickness and the qualty of the brake pads

  • bore off @mbear300. its probably people like you, miandering along at 15mph 1 metre off the curb who give cyclists a bad name.

  • these idiots should have their licences revoked

  • Seems that the machined and lacquered finish on those Focus wheels is a problem. Mine is a Central/North UK car. The creeping corrosion on those is pretty bad, but Cornwall is a Coastal area... Oh yeah, glad you weren't seriously hurt there!

  • I know that road and you were clearly doing more than 30MPH so Tough, it's people like you that give Cyclist's a bad name.I cycle and people like you DO NOT HELP OUR CAUSE!!

  • @mbear300

Double checked using reference points and I was doing 30mph give or take 1mph.

You sound like a car lover, go polish your car or your nuts :)

  • @StreetZips you need to be faster than that-do 50 miles and dont use brakes-will be 1 moron less.If was my car,I will brake your nose and jaw,you nazi cyclist full of shit

  • @Route66quattro

Ha, ha 'brake' you mean break.

Go wank over a German car Polish boy, it will make you feel better :)

  • @Route66quattro wow you're hard aren't you? nazi cyclist HAHA what a wanker, i hope your car gets written off by someone with no insurance

  • @mbear300

    Here is the proof

    Speed=(3600/9)/(1609/118))

    Speed = Time /Distance

Distance measured from first junction 1:18 and 1.27 crash junction, distance travelled is 118m in 9 seconds = 29mph average speed.

Case Closed - Driver was at Fault and admitted it at the scene!

What more proof do you car lovers need, lol.

  • @StreetZips you were hitting speeds trough that village!

  • @StreetZips You're addressing commenters as though people who drive cars and those who ride bicycles are two different races! That accident was that driver's fault, the fault did not lie with all car drivers. And believe me if I had a penny for every time a bicycle rider caused a near miss with me whilst I've been driving, I'd be very rich - but I could say the same regarding near misses with other cars. Stereotypically, bicyclists are far worse than car drivers, so stop the immaturity!

  • @SammSammmm

Sadly at least 70% of people in cars don't ride bikes and have no idea what it's like.

I nearly get killed 2-3 times a year just by riding a bike and the car drivers don't care two hoots.

You're also forgetting if a cyclist crashes into a car, the car always wins. Car drivers can make mistakes and walk away but cyclists can be riding along and someone elses mistake can kill them - hence this video.

I'm not having a go, it's the plain truth from my experiences.

  • @StreetZips It's a give way junction so the driver has no defence. He should have given way, didn't and caused a crash. Having said that I think you could benefit from looking at this and thinking about it. A bike is a third of the width of a car so lazy drivers who give a half glance won't see you so easily. Always make eye contact to make sure they've seen you or be ready to stop as they just pull out regardless. It's not your fault but you could have avoided it and it's your life.

  • @mbear300 stfu dumbass. Just because a cyclists goes 30mph doesnt make cyclists look bad. Its the cyclists that dont follow the rules of the road, its still perfectly legal for cyclists to go fast as long as its not over the speed limit. Lawyered.

  • @mbear300 Cyclists are not bound to speed limits, only motorized vehicles are.

  • In most circumstances, I usually consider the cyclist to be at fault. However, in this video the fault is entirely the drivers.

  • ok the car pulled out infront of you but if you werent going so fast you might have been able to stop

  • Cycling way way to fast, Remember its a Maximum speed limit and if your on a cycle with silly uselss brakes doing clearly in excess of 30mph you deserved to have got knocked off , what if that was a child stepping out from the kerb , If it was my car i would have held the bike untill you payed for the damage.

  • @stevekayjackkay either way he wouldve hit the car bc it WAS the cars faut. and what ifs are pointless if they didnt happen. if he had slammed onto the breaks he wouldve flown off so he had to ease. it was the drivers fault.

  • @stevekayjackkay HAHAHA, if it was a car he would have NO chance of stopping (or slowing to the extent the bike did) in that distance and the damage/injuries would have been a lot worse. children can be avoided, they do not take up the same amount of space as a car you plank

  • ha ha ha love it!!!!!!!!

  • The cyclist was clearly built to last!

  • Wow looks like you were getting some speed up down there, how fast were you going.

  • @frankbing1

Max speed was about 40mph, I calculated that I was acttually doing the 30mph speed limit before the crash.

The video looks faster bacause the camera has a fish-eye lens.

  • looks more like you hit him, jussayin

  • He should pay for the damage to your bike thats the driver of the cars fault.

  • youre going way too fast for the brakes in ur bike can handle. should have upgraded your brakes. I think both of you made mistakes here.

  • Did you smash the car driver up?

  • Where is this ? Great roads

  • So what happend?, did the driver admit fault and pay for your damages? and no police where involved?. Atleat your ok the main thing, could have been so much worse!.

  • @TheMaka456

Managed to sort out my bike, no permanent damage. His car took a few hundred quids worth.

Almost happened again last night! Did not have my camera on.

  • @StreetZips get off the road you idiot before you get your self killed and ruin someones life

  • Yeah I had an accident very similar to this once. A car didn't bother looking and turned right into me. I would've cleared behind him had he just kept going but the moron parked right in front of me. I didn't hit him but smacked into the curb right behind and the jerk didn't even bother asking to help and drove off. Not sure why people see cyclists and think they're somehow not deserving of basic human respect - I'm both a driver and a cyclist. Now I ride bike with my head on a swivel everytime

  • @Alexplus20

Oh dear, this user seems to have had his account suspended, I wonder why, lol.

  • @StreetZips Nah its on private (you do know there is that feature right?)--don't want to be traced by these damned cyclists.

  • Oww! I never trust drivers at intersections ;

  • You should have slow down at the corners,i learnt my lesson

  • That's why cyclist should be insured. I had a cyclist turn the corner and hit my mercedes he fucked my bonnet and cost ME over £1000 in repairs out of my pocket or loose my 8 years NCB. The wanker on the bike just comes out with "sorry bout your car big man" and limps off.

  • @blueeagleTFL

I can understand your point, I think in the near future it would be a good idea for bike riders to have insurance. I guess it is just the logistics to do that, they would need probably number plates etc.

That sucks about your car, I drive too and can totally see where you are coming from.

  • insurance premiums would probably take the fun out of a free ride a little, but would at least cover against accidents, loss, damage, theft etc..

  • @blueeagleTFL I understand about the whole cyclist insurance thing, but surely you are not using this video to aid your point? The car blatantly pulls out on him and leaves him absolutely no chance of doing anything.

  • Very sporty and cool to let it go. No need for a big fuss & uncivilized insults over a few pennies..

  • HA delighted :) hate cunts on bikes.... hungry bums dat wont pay car costs nd think day shud get as much respect on d roads.... shudnt of been go so fast either

  • Could have been a lot worse if you had not braked in such a timely manner. I would imagine this dented your confidence in riding that stretch of road now at those blistering speeds?

  • @londonboyracer

Aye, a bit - they have just put up a speed camera that flashes slow down.

I'm off to set it off tonight :)

  • were you going the speed limit? that last series of curves looked as if you were going at an unsafe speed if anything were to happen including a possum in the road, gravel, a fallen branch, a pedestrian stepping off the curb, whatever... just saying didn't seem like you'd have enough time to stop if something happened. But it looked roller coaster fun.

  • I would have smashed his fucking head in.

  • if you were that 'magnatom' prick, the man driving the car would of rot behind bars.

  • @MrDawggy313 Shame he wasn't then. Prick.

  • @catbells69 you're just like him. dramaqueen

  • @MrDawggy313 If you've heard of magnatom, you've obviously been shit stirring in posting on these videos. Attention seeking twat.

  • @catbells69 hey man, how about u go fuck urself, u 'fag' smoking english 'arse'

and, btw, u are the attention seeking twat, since u go around swearing at people u dont even know irl.

please, dont even reply back , i wont read it anyway, i dont have time for such bullshit

  • @MrDawggy313 Oh, the old unoriginal fag insult. Gee you're so witty. You must be American! It's always the same cliched shite from pricks like you. As for swearing at people, didn't you refer to magnatom as a prick? Yes, you did you inconsistent retard. Fucking brain dead, shit for brains, waste of space, mentally deficient bastard.

  • The car drivers fault, it seems he took a glance quickly and went. Road safety ad keeps coming on about looking both ways twice and judging, just like looking for a motorcyle... StreetZips, what happened in regards to payment for repair, did you have to pay for his car or did his insurance pay for your bike?

  • @ATBparkour

Hi, we decided to call it quits, my bike was not really damaged but there was about £100-£200 damage on his car, he knew it was his fault and was quite shaken. I didn't want to cause anymore stress for him to be honest, he was a nice old guy.

  • @StreetZips thanks for the advice, will certainley look at it ;)

  • What camera is it as I am looking to get into more commuting by bike, any pro's and con's would be helpfull aswell.

  • @Cyclingbikingtrucker

I'm using a go pro and it's great, waterproof to 60m and full HD, they have got a range of extras now like LCD screens, extra batterys to bolt on (the mounts break quite easy though). The 960 version is around £200, you won't be dissapointed :)

  • When the main car on the road you're riding went past the junction, the other car went to it, stopped for a very short time (around 1 second) before moving off. That gives you the clue that he did NOT look at the road properly. He should have done right check, left check, and repeat that to ensure nothing is coming after his 1st check.

    Glad you're okay after this!

  • lol I think you handled that situation like a gentleman.

  • yea, "shoulder imprints" I left to about two cars until now (as a cyclist...)

on one , I bent the front wheel and "a little more than an imprint" on his rear left door...

As a motorcyclist I don't even want to go into it...

Problem lies in the sons of bitches that call themselves "car-drivers" but have no ideea of what that means... the car driver is in a FUCKING METAL FORTRESS , the biker or cyclist is "bare-naked" (almost" in the case of an impact...

    WHO SHOULD PAY MORE ATTENTION?!

    ...

  • @pauk182 Hit the nail on the head with that comment.

  • man what are you made of to simply say that your fine after that.... you must of been going at some speed when you collided with it....

  • @mrsoouter

Bit of luck I guess, I continued my training afterwards.

  • Damn you were going at some speed!! Or well, it looks it! VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

  • ive been on that road before :) polperro is lovely

  • prob misjudged your speed as you were going some pace they prob wasn't expecting you to be going like 30 down a hill on a bike lol

  • So did the cyclist get the insurance from the car? I would also like to point out that the speed limit applies only to motor vechicles.

  • @jacmar44 if you have a speedo on your bike you must obey the speed limit.

  • @jacmar44 Quite simply incorrect

  • @VickersDoorter

Sorry but he was not looking into the sun, check the shadows.

Like leap of faith said below "you have to give way to the main road", you have to wait until it is 100% safe to pull out (matter of life and death).

I dont have a small profile I was sat upright with a white shirt on. The guy knew he was in the wrong because he kept chatting to me for about 10minutes afterwards.

Looking at your other comments you might have a mild case of 'internet troll' coming through.

  • @StreetZips If it was your fault, would you have compensated him for the damages? I only ask because a cyclist hit me while I was stationary, but I still had to fork the bill.

  • @blueeagleTFL

Hi, yes that is a tricky one but if I was in the wrong I would of course pay for any damages caused.

The tricky bit is that the damaged caused to a car can easily be fixed but a cyclist can be injured for life, I hope that makes sense.

  • @StreetZips Thank God, your lucky you didn't go over the bonnet. It looked like one of those nice sunny days perfect for a ride and then suddenly some muppet pulls out in front of you. Was your bike O.K?

  • @blueeagleTFL

Yes thanks, bike OK - still riding it now.

Everyone went away a bit wiser and more aware that day, hope this video educates people too.

  • @VickersDoorter So wrong it hurts.

  • The audio in this video sounds like a large belch.

  • Car's fault, traffic coming out of a side road must give way to ALL traffic on the main road.

  • It is possible to steer a bicycle under hard braking. Come down a steep hill holding on your front brake with your back wheel in the air, again and again. Practice. You might not want to use a floppy 'racing' tyre on the front.

  • @punkchipmonk

Chiil out man, maybe you should get out of the car and go for a walk or a nice bike ride? :)

  • @StreetZips He's too much of a fat cunt to get on a bike

  • @punkchipmonk i dont ride but maybe u are an fucking douche

  • @MrTroll199 maby your a douche coz hes right

  • @punkchipmonk oh shut the fuck up!

  • "Jesus Christ.....Jesus Christ" lol

  • Unfortunate accident. Driver should have looked one last time that there were no cars (or bikes) coming fast around that corner. But cyclist could have been more careful around the bend as well. When I see incoming traffic or a road bend, I try to slow down and anticipate the worst, cos you never know what car will turn unexpectedly.

  • cyclist was speeding if u was doing the speed limit u would have stopped in time.....

  • @punkchipmonk

Maybe 5mph over the limit, but if the car driver would have bothered to check the road was clear then it would not have happened.

I notice a lot that car drivers always twist it to be the cyclists fault :(

  • @StreetZips

do u know why that is? cos it is tbh. if a car was speeding and hit him it wouldnt be the guy pulling outs fault, it would be the speeder. in this case.... u

  • @punkchipmonk

Car driver should not be driving, he clearly did not see me.

I had a chat with him, 'nice old guy' in his 70's - he was more shaken than me, but tbh not fit to be driving.

Drivers over 60-70 should be made to resit a special test. I've been nearly killed loads of times by elderly people like him- guess I am just lucky.

  • @StreetZips oh yea another thing dont admit speeding on youtube could land u in trouble deffo with a video of u speeding, if this was showed to the police or the guy u hit found it, id imagine you would get some police attention

  • @punkchipmonk

Cycling speedometers are not professionally calibrated so no legal standing in court.

  • @StreetZips agreed, which is another reason you shouldnt be on the road. when u are involved in an accident serious or not cyclist always get away with it financially. if my car speedo wasnt working correctly it would be illegal for me to be on the road. they should have road legal bikes, that has all the things a car needs to be on the road. insurance tax MOT is a must. and not them skinney ass danger wheels.

  • @punkchipmonk Again, jealous nonsense. A cyclists rightful place, & horses, is on the road. You'd prolly whine like crazy if one rode past you on a pavement. We're already obliged to have road worthy bikes under law, & a Police officer has the right to check.Remember that the most dangerous of bikes is incredibly safer to others in the main than a safe motor vehicle. A bike with brake failure can be stopped with the feet, for one. A car cannot be flint stoned.

  • @StreetZips So if I take the speedo out of my car - hey presto I cant be done for speeding ??

  • @mbds42

No dude, you need one in a car because it works the odometer and records miles driven. You could use a GPS unit, but not sure if that is 100% legal due to signal loss etc?

  • @punkchipmonk The cyclist cannot break the speed limit - why? Because speed limits in the UK only apply to motor vehicles on most public highways.

  • @CyclingMikey

another reason why they shouldnt be on the road

  • @punkchipmonk Pedestrians, horse riders, and cyclists are on the public highways by right. It's motor vehicle drivers that are there by privilege and sufferance. If any of us as a driver have no licence, no insurance, no MOT, or drive badly, and you will lose your privilege of driving on the roads.

    You are this: WRONG.

  • @StreetZips I think it's funny when people say, "well you were speeding". Well, I've never seen a law anywhere saying it's OK to hit people if they're speeding.

  • @punkchipmonk Mate it doesn't matter how fast the cyclist was going the car driver should have looked and looked again before pulling out! car driver = at fault!

  • @heliman85 so if a guy on a bike decides to try a cannonball run and is hooning it down a hill its a cars fault for pulling out? speed limits are there for a reason u cant be looking down both roads at the same time theres a few seconds and a few seconds is all it takes for a speeder to not be seen as the guy pulls out, it happens all the time with cars. if crash the speeder always gets done for endangering other road users.. unless u got a bike, then u point out u got a dent then ride off ;)

  • @punkchipmonk Speed limits are neither enforcable or applicable in law to cyclists due to the trouble in calibrating speedometers. Most will not get anywhere near 30 in most areas so its pointless you moaning about it.

I dont think this guy was going too fast to be seen. You'd have to be doing double that. It was a failure in observation by the driver that lead to this, and remember many drivers will be doing 10% over at the least. He'd have pulled out on a car, obs like that.

  • why did you not ring your bell you douche? its your fault he did not hear you! and another thing,, get large S C A N I A or V O L V O letters for your bike and no one will ever pull into your path again!!

  • @luciferscock

I'll stick a train horn next time.

  • @StreetZips 1st: You have guts to cycle down those narrow country lanes (you seem to be over 30mph). But that is not the excuse for that driver not seeing you and I bet if it was a car with that speed he would have spotted it. I used to cycle in London but stopped due to safety issues - no infrastructure and careless drivers. 2nd: Can you not ignore idiotic comments like luciferscock's?

  • @luciferscock LOL do you really think a bell would be heard over the engine, inside the glass and metal of a car. Either you're an idiot or a troll, LOL!

  • MMm, fisrt of all, lets just say you didnt slow down at all when entering the 30 limit, various times you moved to the centre of the road to take the bend without looking, as can be seen in your shadow... The car pulling out was his faultfully but i'm suprised more cyclist arnt killed each year with thier complete disregard for there own safety.. I see dozens riding around in basicaly urban camoflage, dark clother, no lids, black lycra, 2 or three abressed doing 10mph on narrow lanes. ride safe!

  • @dazzassti Without looking? Could he not be using a mirror when transitioning positions?

  • Whoa crap! So glad you managed to scrub the speed off before. Kudos on the commando roll!

    :-o

  • Glad you're ok...hope you get your bike and things paid for!

  • Some quick riding before you hit the car that is. Good thing you were going a bit slower or it could of been alot worse.

  • this is great. cool video!

  • Is that the decent into Bath from Monkton Combe?

  • @Jazzmonkey24522

Hi, it's the descent down Looe hill from the Polperro side.

Would seem it has got a twin!

  • @StreetZips haha, strange. I haven't lived there for 8 years so I'm clearly completely wrong. But, in my memory it's very similar and the fact you end up on North Road is just bizarre!

  • Yeah, I got a hard time about helmets, but you are pretty speedy down those hills, I can see your GF's pov! Even at 10mph I can imagine it would help. I know they aren't the answer to everything. Did your head hit the bonnet at all? If you had the camera fitted to your head that would be some footage! :-p

I believe you on the commando roll over the bonnet, I've done similar! Well, it felt like it anyway. How is the insurance claim going? Will your bike bits get sorted?

  • @MelloVEL0 Speed really isn't a good reason for deciding to start wearing a helmet as the helmet becomes more and more useless at speed.

  • Phew. I felt a bit sick watching your other edited clip not knowing how it ended...you rotter! I take it you scrubbed off a lot of speed before that. Do you believe in helmet wearing by any chance? :)

  • @MelloVEL0

    Yeah, only doing around 10mph.

The GF is going on and on about helmets now so maybe I am converted.

The best bit (not seen) was the commando roll across the bonnet then landing back on my feet! Nobody will believe me though. lol

On a serious note: Ride safe everyone!!!

  • @StreetZips 0:56, wasn't there the sign with 30??? u were going way too fast, it's ur fault, he could sue you easily ;)

  • @BrundukasLT speed limits dont apply to a road, they apply to a specific class of vehicle, bikes can do any speed they like, so they cant sue him easily, not even difficultly, its impossible.
