  • the professor KINDA reminds me of jig saw

  • This used to,happen to,me as a child..I used to hear loud noises and the house used to shake...

  • just last night I had this experience I didn't know about this or what was happening I finally researched it and found out what it was, this has happen to me a few times and i've not seen a shadow or anything like that yet.. it's scary but you can't do anything about it...

  • @soulsmacktv I watched your upload and found it interesting. I liked the talk because although you come from a scientific background, you keep an open mind. I suffer with S.P. and visited my local priest. I won't tell you what he said to me, I'll leave that to your imagination, but I'm sure you can imagine. It's terrifying. I know what I experience when I'm asleep is real. I may go to bed alone, but I'm not alone. Apart from the sleeping tips you've provided and going on meds, is there anything

  • This hasn't happened to any of my friends. When I told them my experiences, they looked at me like I was crazy.

  • can i message you?

  • were can i find a documentary about this were they show examples, and footage and pictures to make it more fun.

  • I wouldnt try and have a sp ive had them in the past a 2 within the past 3 weeks and for me its TERRIFING i never heard the shuffle but i saw the black shadows and the feeling is like no other horror ive ever felt. I actually tried to kick a shadow twice because it came toward me but nuthing but air. i think its a very serious matter and its a spiritual warfare thats going on so get in the habbit of praying for protection and praying everynight cuz when it happens its always unexspected.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I have had this experience 3 times in my life. I feel as if someone is sitting on me or, holding me down. I am awake because I can see the room, the clock etc...I also feel a great sense of terror, like something evil is holding me down. Glad to know I am not alone in this.

  • @FredFooledMe I felt it too... It's a horrible feeling of violation.

  • I had an episode last night that I actually MADE happen myself. I have had these before and was so scared but after it happens enough...Now I can actually feel it underneath and can choose to let it happen. I did this last night but for some reason when It happens I can not control TRYING to come out of it. I would like to try and stay in it for as long as I can to see what happens.

  • @HMCINC1 If you can make yourself fell goosebumps just by concentrating on it when you're awake, than you can "trigger" SP early when you feel it is about to happen. Works for me though...

  • @kkikkirikki sweet...goose bumps. never thought about that. It does feel similar. ill give it a try :) Thanks for the post!

  • @arbiter343 It is. I had my first experience last night. 3 times in a row. I know my sister had suffered from it as she has had several experiences. I thought she was being dramatic. I'm a healthy strong male of sound mind, it freaked me out.

  • It's much easier to be the "rational" one in the equation when you're not the one actually experiencing these bizarre events.

  • This happens to me up to 2 times a year. 2 days ago was the worst episode of this I have ever experienced. The Hallucination of the shadow figure has grown a lot since the first time but this time it was actually moving. It walked over to me and got on top of me looking down into my face with it's hands pressed down on either side of my head. I fear the next time I may die...

  • @arbiter343 tell me about.

  • This man is dominated by his left brain

  • Turn it into an obe, google it.

  • I thank that I can move two parts of my body, my eyes and my neck. . I can't really move my neck with ease. It's very hard and after trying to move it up to 10-15 times, when it reaches a certain point it is strong enough I can move my whole body. . Sadly if I don't get out of bed soon enough after getting out of SP, SP again for me. .

  • Interesting subject but wow......this dude is booooooooring. P.s. that " presence you feel staring at you during sleep paralysis is obviously Jason from Friday the 13th...

  • i would love to talk to a doc about it but im in the Army and i dont want to get kicked out because they think im crazy.....

  • @bornindeat Know how you feel. Doctors where I am from have no clue what Sleep paralysis is. They think I just made it up haha. '

But no, try to study it as much as you can and get an understanding of what it is. After I did that I kinda learned to accept it and doesnt really bother me much more,. Sure when it happens Im like "oh shit!" but then it passes and all is fine.

  • @bornindeat Doctors are well aware of sleep paralysis. It is not connected to psychosis. Doctors know this.

  • i hate when it happens to me like 6 times a night!

  • @ddaannyy702 dammm wtf? you got that mega sleep paralysis

  • i seen a demon on my wall with red eyes. and it look over my face, they are still tons more just text me ill explain. figure you might seen it all and dont care

  • I told my family doctor about my sleep paralysis when I was younger...didn't know it what it was called at the time, but described what happened and she thought i was insane. Told my mom about it and she said I must've been dreaming. But how could i be dreaming if i could hear everything and see what's going on?

  • @Irenerz We have the same situation I have this experience ever since I was a kid, many grown ups thought I was making things up.Now I'm an adult, when I tell them my experience, they tell me I'm insane.Im not insane, I really see terrifying things before sleeping and when I'm about to wake up and I can't move.Asked help from a priest, didn't work,in fact it got worst.I don't want to try from a doctor, I know they wouldn't believe me.

  • @Jovenbernardt69 well to be honest, i highly doubt a priest could help you with this. Sleep paralysis has nothing to do with entities and demons (in my opinion). There's this documentary on sleep paralysis. It's called science of SP. It's actually here on youtube. It really helps you understand what's going on in your brain.

  • @Jovenbernardt69 (cont'd) When i was younger, I thought the things i saw were ghosts, but after years of it happening, I became less afraid and these "ghosts" would just disappear because I knew that all the things I saw were created by me. I found that you can turn sleep paralysis into quite an enjoyable situation if you just let it happen instead of resisting it. Also, I've noticed that I usually get sleep paraylsis when I sleep and wake up at different times every day.

  • @Jovenbernardt69 (cont'd) It helps to have a regular sleeping routine i guess. Just some thoughts for you. Everyone has their own way of dealing with sp. Just wanted to share how I deal with mine. Maybe it could help you. You know when sp happens, so just relax and breathe (even though it's kinda hard lol)

  • @Irenerz Sometimes I can relax if I have sp the problem is sometimes when I open my eyes I see an evil being (evil coz it's so ugly.lol.) It would seem as if it's choking me. It even imitates my voice.

  • @Irenerz how can that doctor you saw say you were insane, it's simply a sleeping paralysis but i use to get it quite a lot and i didn't know why or what it even was and only this night have i some how found out what it was

i didn't ever think it was so common in many people, and so they must be all crazy too then, i think not

  • He makes a great point here about the condescending attitude you get from people who are oblivious to these experiences. I have an IQ of 183 and have always been a so-called rational thinker. I don't blindly believe anything. I base my beliefs on what I see with my own two eyes and experience for myself. I never believed in ghosts.

One night I saw the "Old Hag" for myself. Based on that experience I now believe there is more to this world/universe than rational logic can explain.

  • @JunmaiShu possibly the worst comment on youtube. what you are seeing is .... IN YOUR HEAD! created by your brain, not by some supernatural force.. jesus christ.

  • I never said it was supernatural, perhaps preternatural. Whatever the case, anyone that's actually experienced this for themselves won't buy the so called "rational" explanations. But it's great that you have all the answers. I feel much better now...

And if something is created in your mind, does that make it any less real? The key word here is "create". In fact, does it get any more real than something that your mind creates?

  • this guy talked allot of ..... just get to the point

  • @GrussProductions lmao thats what i said

  • @GrussProductions He's touched on alot of details, you can't explain that in a short paragraph. If you don't want to watch all 10 videos, go watch a shallow video on something stupid. Goodbye.

  • @Vigatos iv had this happen to me and i wanted to learn something about it, but the way in which he explained what he felt about it, i personal thought was slow and monotonous, i felt like i was about to fall asleep. now i will watch what i like, and also comment in what way i feel without you telling me what to watch, so u concentrate on your own comments not mine!

  • @arbiter343 agreed

  • 1, 2, Freddie's coming for you

  • Of the symptoms listed on wikipedia, "Excessive consumption of alcohol coupled with lack of adequate sleep", seems to explain why I only experienced this in college.

  • When I first saw this guy, I thought he was a quack, but actually he's awesome.

  • As a kid, I could stop it by finally moving a pinky. Then that stoped working, so eye movements. But eventually I could open my eyes & see all kinds of weird shit because I dream awake at the same time with this. Now, to break it, I have to hold my breath. Often I would think I was screaming when I realy wasn't. But now they hardly ever happen since I started taking Klonopin for panic attacks. Hope this possibly helps.......

  • Extreme heart-rate increase

    Inability to open eyes

    Full feeling in entire body

    Inability to move limbs

For some reason trying to twitch my eyelids is the only thing that stops it, if I try to relax it can just continue indefinitely, with a feeling of being pulled downward, accompanied by uncontrollable panic.

  • @Totallyneutral i so feel u on dat "being pulled downward feeling"...i never try to go back to sleep once it happens bcuz i think i mite get stuck in it even longer, lmao...*but i did read a comment sum wer on youtube dat jus go bak to sleep cuz it jus continues even longer tryin to get out of it...lol...*it happened to me today, it hadnt for a lil while, n i think i've actually gone a whole year with out getting em...^first time it appened i was 5....then 11, n after 12, continiuosly.

  • I have felt a Satanic entity trying to kill or at least steal, my very soul more than a few times whilest about to sleep. I stopped the horrors immediately by calling on Jesus. This is not in the mind. This is a spiritual battle. Jesus always wins.

  • I always simply thought of SP as your mind waking up before your body. Indeed it is scary, but I think most of the fear is generated from a lack of understanding. Once, you realize that there is nothing to fear you can usually control the situation, and like in a dream, that is usually the point where you wake up. Maybe that seems like a primitive naive analysis. I'm very surprised that this hasn't been studied more!

  • @eyemla Same here every time i say jesus and a prayer it goes away. Praise the lord!

  • I have experienced sleep paralysis, with regularity, throughout my life. I always knew when they would be coming on and so I'd attempt to wake myself... sometimes successfully (like Trinity in the Matrix telling herself to get up). If I was unsuccessful I would recite the lords prayer which would, although it might take some time, work. Another thing I did, at the advice of my grandmother, to "protect" myself was to make the sign of the cross 3 times on my pillow... and this always worked.

  • My experiences during the process of paralysis were as follows:

    1) feeling weighted down

    2) burdened breathing

    3) trying to scream but voice gone

    4) feeling like I'm separating from my body

    5) feeling the darkness surrounding me

    6) feeling the presence of something malevolent

    7) feelings of heightened anxiety as I sensed the malevolent being approaching

    8) feeling fully aware yet helpless

  • @miownprivateidaho Yes, these are the exact symptoms that I have with SP. Though, I never have any problem with waking up from it.

  • About 2 years ago I awoke from an "episode" and began to contemplate the experiences in an attempt to understand why they were happening, what the underlying symbolic meaning might be and how might I be able to change the experience if I had the power to do so. Something within me decided that what I needed to do was come face to face with the "the darkness", the "malevolent stalker" who was bullying and terrorizing me in MY dreams.

  • My logic was that if reciting the lord's prayer or making the sign of the cross on my pillow has the power over this "thing" this "energy" then maybe I could consciously invoke that which the prayer represents and symbolized, for me... goodness, trust, safety, light and protection.

  • What i do to avoid it is that i set the sleep time on the ipod and try sleeping listening to music. Hope it works for some of u. t.c

  • Even i have been having this experience since more than 10 yrs ago...In the beginning, I only couldn't move my body but in later yrs it has started occurring along with some dreams like ppl tryin to rape me, some kind of image in front of my face and I am not able to shake it off. It occurs pretty regular that i no longer get scared yet i can't summit to the feeling so i try to shake it off.

  • i've been having this since i was around 7..in the beginning it was terrifying but now at age 39..if i know it's coming on i just ride it out. i remember pullin the covers over my head and feeling something pulling my covers off...there's more to this that something scientific. i have been able to astral project while in this state. I think it's some sort of gateway to another world or life or something. sounds crazy but that's just my take.

  • @melloprod honestly, I agree with what you're saying there's something more

  • @eyemla Yeah it is frightening. I have taken to staying awake 2 days at a time so it won't happen. Either that or drink till I pass out. I know both are unhealthy, but I was born with a hole in my heart and when the paralysis happens i swear it feels as if I'm taking in too much oxygen with my blood. I can't breath and it freaks me out. I feel like I'm dying, so I don't go to sleep unless I pass out. If u know of any rational ways u curve your episodes please let me know.

  • these things have a name,Islam explains what they are and what they made of,i've had this experience more than once and since muslims explained what was happening and how to protect myself, its never happened again.Im really worried for you guys because you dont know how to protect yourselves.these things can be very dangerous especially when it becomes obsessed.

  • @TheShinobi2009 what is it then? If you really want to helP then give your take on what this is, not just saying you feel sorry, that does no good.

  • i am super intrigued now since it happened to me frightening experience i have read about sleep paralysis and i have heard about a 'reptilian theory on sleep paralysis' where you go through the paralysis and your mind wakes up faster then your body so your body cant exist in the third dimension ("the life or world as you know or we know it") so your body switches to the fourth dimension. I have just recently been reading up on this theory.

  • Ever since I was a child this has happened to me. It has literally drove me into insomnia for fear of it. When it happens I can't scream, I can't move or open my eyes. I feel as if my breath is being drawn from me...it is scary as hell. I feel like I'm dying. My teacher said it was something called Sunds...but this sounds dead on. Thanks for posting.

  • I get sleep paralysis alot I don't know why but often I have a dream where im flying but I feel awake then I realise I can't move and I scream and try and move but I don't always know how to wake myself up

  • thanks for the interview. Interesting - had something happening to me not long ago so good to hear something about it-
