I understand your point, but African Americans have been well-served by their presidents, and despite African American existing in the U.S. there are still strides that are needed to be made by African Americans.

I am not sure if Powell lied or not. It's a tough call. He was presented with certain things that he was told were true. There is a good chance he lied, though. I don't get bringing up the Muslim part since Barrak is Christian and Muslims don't consider him to be Muslim. It's not like being Jewish where if you're born one, you die one. Many Baptists have Catholic grandparents. Hey, Obama is qualified for the job, is well-spoken, experienced, and I hope he will do a good job.

Obama identifies himself as "black". In doing so (and not calling himself bi-racial) he denies his maternal heritage. In patriarchal societies (like ours, like muslim societies) female lineage doesn't mean a whole lot. But guess what? It does! Obama is 50% "white".
