Lucy never looses her finger. In the flashback dealing with Assassin's Creed 1 when Desomond see's her "without a finger" she just has her finger pulled back. (NOTE) This information was obtained through the help of everyone in the comments, and I finally found hard evidence of this through online searching.

They are tricky. The best advice I can give you is this:

I (personal opinion) believe that it has to do with the spacing between the two guards you are trying to double kill. It is kinda finicky. If the guards are close but not quite close enough it won't recognize. It's ify, but if they are relatively close within Ezio arm length most of the time it catches for me.

Glad to hear it! Yeah, I loved the first one but the second one's gameplay is dramatically improved, etc for roof running, you still randomly jump ofcourse from where you wanna go sometimes. I thought that a couple of times but as a whole and in general they are dynamically better! If you see the (will soon be up and running) actual gameplay footage that will come in order AFTER this clip there is a big difference. The actual in-game footage looks much better. But ofcourse, this is all relative to everyone's opinion. ;)
