I was in Baghdad with by far the highest ratio of deaths during 06-08 (though Anbar and fallujah used to be worse). Every single time a troop died EVERYONE knew it in 5 minutes. + I lived right under the flight path of Medivac u kind of get the idea of how many are dying by the number of flights.
Talk to anyone who has been in Iraq you will find out it is absolutely impossible to "hide" any significant number of US troop/ US civilian deaths. We lived in compounds that are like tiny villages. + 20 layers of security keeping tabs on exactly who went out and who came back - or didn't. It's like a boarding school (I went to boarding school). I support our military troops courage and commitment, but I'm doubtful of the benefits of these war as being sold to us. Setting up Diplomatic Governments that will follow our Government's demands and agenda doesn't seem to promote Freedom and Independence but rather Constraint and a larger International Order. I was in Baghdad with by far the highest ratio of deaths during 06-08 (though Anbar and fallujah used to be worse). Every single time a troop died EVERYONE knew it in 5 minutes. + I lived right under the flight path of Medivac u kind of get the idea of how many are dying by the number of flights.

Talk to anyone who has been in Iraq you will find out it is absolutely impossible to "hide" any significant number of US troop/ US civilian deaths. We lived in compounds that are like tiny villages. + 20 layers of security keeping tabs on exactly who went out and who came back - or didn't. It's like a boarding school (I went to boarding school). Try to imagine a boarding school where 100 students were killed and the school says only 4 were killed and that having ANY fucking chance of working.

That's the thing. There are certain rules they use to hide the actual number of deaths. The rule is that they only count deaths that actually happen in the field. If a person gets to a medivac chopper and dies later from their injuries, they don't count that as a casualty. It's a bullshit rule that's used to downplay the ACTUAL number of deaths

It certainly can't be coincidence that since those boy's have been in Afghanistan (which just happens to produce nearly all of the worlds Opium) that there's been a steady and consistent rise in Oxycontin (hillbilly heroin)use. Crap it's pretty much replaced pot as the drug of choice around here. There is just way to many of those things around to attribute to legit script holders sellin em.

Actually, those casualties listed in the Rand Study are just the ones who are 'officially' counted. The real number is probably much higher. Good video !

I support our military troops courage and commitment, but I'm doubtful of the benefits of these war as being sold to us. Setting up Diplomatic Governments that will follow our Government's demands and agenda doesn't seem to promote Freedom and Independence but rather Constraint and a larger International Order. What is about to transpire in Haiti is a good example to watch and pay attention to.
If these numbers are even close to being accurate then I think the cost is way too expensive!

I did a video on the earthquake because i feel like human life is devalued now. Good point on the casualties. We have so much tech that we can keep so many guys alive that otherwise would have died. Good video

We did the protests, millions of us, before the wars started.
We've protested since.
We were ignored.
Subsequent protests don't get coverage unless it's to portray the protesters as malcontents and troublemakers.
Groups that are against the wars are regularly infiltrated as "threats" against the government and leaders are harassed. Meanwhile celebrity sex lives remain more interesting than injured (and homeless) soldiers or DU deformed babies.
Protest is the wrong means.

@fluffymcdeath, protests can be wrong. Maybe some media, not affiliated with U.S. government or U.S. corporations, should be spammed or 'kept informed' with the latest news, with the latest info.
The media abroad. U.S.A. could be stopped if Europe (and Australia) would be able to handle itself and stand against e.g. crimes (i.e. torture) committed by Bush administration.
But if things would go as badly as they do now, Bush won't be accused of any crimes against humankind, what is very sad.

Protesting doesn't do squat. Governments nowadays just ignore demonstrations. They know the controlled media will barley cover it. Even the vote is next to worthless since most of the politicians are already owned. One of the keys to bringing down this beast is to remember what they depend on more than anything else - our taxes & our compliance. Mass deprivation of these things is bound to have an impact.

I don't understand why the college students aren't raising holy hell like during the Vietnam War. I suppose that it is because we no longer have a draft so they feel that it doesn't affect them. Many may take the elitist view that it's just the poor or the gullible that are being sacrificed. Even if one believes this, they should consider that we cannot afford these wars and they are bankrupting the country and ruining our reputation.
