I prefer to believe that Céline hasn't really given a reaction for several reasons: a lot of people in the middle of both prefer them not to interact all but also Celine has also a life of her own being a mother having done a tour and starting again Las Vegas in 2011 it's hard to find the time to say anything. We have to understand that the same way Celine does not react to Lara is also the same she does not react to many other french singers.

I can say I understand Celine's ''non-reaction''. For a very long time Lara kept saying, she disliked it being incessantly compared to Celine . I still remember watching a tv-show ''Bernard Tapis/ in Belgium'' in which Lara was invited to talk about her back then latest released album "Nue": She said, she respect Celine but she had her own infuences and therefore their "singingstyle are very different"....

@mygodhelpme1 She never expressed disliking Celine she said it very clearly around that time that it was very intimidating and disturbing to express how much she liked her because she believed strongly no one would belive her. All the comparasions done up until then ended up damaging Lara. it's weird in both ways: why was Lara contantly asked bout Celine and Celine never was asked about her.

@Fabian81 They never asked Celine because she's the idol. She's Céline Dion, the best selling female EVER. Lara "had to prove who she was/is" because "she was/is the copy". I think that any serious journalist would come and ask Celine, but it's easier to piss Lara off. Controversy is better. And more than that, Celine is more famous, so her fans like the controversy, it sells more newspapers. It's ridiculous...

@mygodhelpme1 And it's true that they don't necessarly have the same singing style and each ones has their own musical influences of course that happens to everyone ... Barbra Streisand is their only common idol ... so in that case Lara was being honest. What we forget to understand at time that if we were in Lara's shoes we would ask ourselves "another question Celine ... shall i answer it or should i be silent?" The media asked her just to annoy her.

I love Lara. I must must say I believe her at the time she uttered those words. And yet she's saying Celine is her greatest inspiration that she's got all her cds and cassettes. That's a wee bit weird... What is the reason behind this complete turn-about? Maybe the producer's kept saying she should play ''her own diva-game'', and now she's fed up with all. However her new "Celine's fan-attitude" leaves me speechless. Though I wish, we could see one Lar and Celine singing a duet...

@mygodhelpme1 I have also got all Celine cds and I'm a bigger Fabian fan LOL there is not weird about that. When Lara came in 1997 in France she was very young and very ambitions she had excessive sefl confidence she didnt want to be better than Celine she just wanted to be the best she could be in what she was doing - being constantly compared to Celine and being ridiculed in France for who she is made her more vunerable and probably more wiser. She had to cry some tears to regain her strengh.

Anyway Celine loves her and once said even lara's speaking voice sounds beautifully great, after she once sung je t'aime.Though I've never seen Celine being question on how she appreciates lara as a person, but as far as lara is concerned, this occurs all the time... That's weird too...

@mygodhelpme1 Celine is very humble and sincere to everyone.... she might have crossed Lara very few times and God knows if she's cares about all the stupidity said and written about Lara ... what I believe is that Celine sees not harm in people and Lara is always feeling very small when she mentions her name today: she can be open finally about her admiration for her like a young girl looking up to her idol in a way ...
