Well ... we all know what this idiot has to say now. He should be deported or shoot as a traitor. He by his own admission knew what palin was all about. All the gays or Musslims in the world could not have done more damage. I do love it however that people like this have there words come back at them.
Nobody is blaming "a single piece of legislation". We are blaming those who were responsible...Carter/Clinton/and the Democrats who used the law for their own social engineering, used Fannie and Freddie as their personal piggy bank, and severely damaged the housing market/economy in the process. It built up over 3 decades. Repubs voted no on the socialist bailout because they were excluded from talks, and the current bill is nothing more than another Dem devised taxpayer funded failure.
Funny, when Clinton took office the federal deficit was at -300 billion, when he left it was +300 billion, since Bush has been in office its dropped past -450 billion. Republicans fund oil wars and cut taxes for the wealthy that's why they are asking for a 700 billion bailout.
Who's talking about deficits? Tax cuts & deficits have nothing to do with the mortgage mess & subsequent socialist bailout. I suppose Raines & Johnson, who now work for Obama, looted Fannie & Freddie for hundreds of millions of dollars while they were in charge because of high deficits & tax cuts. I don't think so. Lets be honest. This mortgage mess has government's fingerprints all over it. And now these bastards want $700 billion of OUR money to fix the problem THEY created. BEAM ME UP!
Well, tax cuts reduce the amount of revenue and a deficit is borrowed money. If you have a surplus then you can bail out the unregulated stock market thats f'd up. My point is that our economic situation is a direct result from all corners of economics that republicans have demolished. Vote Obama or be poor and hated by the world.
As I said, tax cuts INCREASE revenue. You'll get no argument from me on spending (except for Defense spending). Congress (especially Repubs) have been irresponsible with spending & GROWING gvt, which is the opposite of what we need. The point is, there never should have been a CRA, or the resulting housing/mortgage mess created by OVER/BAD regulation, or the bailout to fix it. Our current situation is a result of liberal social experimentation with the market, and the money grab that followed.
You don't have to be an economic genius to understand that if you decrease the government's income (tax cuts) and increase the government's spending (military, war) you'll easily turn a budget into a deficit. Which is exactly what this administration and congress have done.
It's not a zero sum game. Cutting taxes INCREASES revenues. Taxes, and raising them, always discourages whatever is being (over)taxed. Thats why Reagan cut taxes dramatically, created MORE TAXPAYERS, encouraged entrepreneurship and new businesses, and created more jobs and REVENUE than they ever could have done by raising taxes. The tax code should not be a vehicle for class warfare. After all, only the rich pay taxes. Sometimes to the tune of over 40% of their income. THAT is UNAMERICAN.
More unsubstantiated accusations from rattle-mouth operatives of rattle-mouth politicos supporting utter garbage flushed forth by rattle-mouth radio hosts and clatter-mouth cable.
You can always trust Schmidt to leave behind well placed mushroom clouds. He nuked those bastards, but GOOD! The masthead at the NY Slimes now reads..."All the news that fits...We PRINT!" Let the countdown to 0 circulation CONTINUE!!!!! Keep the nukes coming Stevie-boy.
George Will ripped MccCain last week, he is unfit 2 be president...and the NATIONAL REVIEW suggests Palin should resign this week.....2 very conservative sources blasting their own candidates....yet MCCAIN still claims A MEDIA BIAS against him......its just pathetic.
Take a look at Chris Matthews and Kieth Olberman, and Campbell Brown. And any number of other left wing media shills. Are you still going to try and tell me there is no media bias? What kind of drugs must one take to make one so delusional?
olbermann is clearly democrat..as is matthews....i dont watch brown....but i'll take your word on it.....but if u think FOX is 'fair and balanced' u are delusional....and if u think there should be unbiased media, u should move to fantasyland...everyone has an agenda, get over it...unbiased press coverage is BORING.thats why FOX and MSNBC take a position...and also get good ratings.
...nothing is lamer than dems whining about FOX...or republicans crying about 'liberal media'.
Of course FOX is not fair and balanced. But MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, etc. have all been blatantly Left wing for decades now. The rise of Right wing talk radio has given people in this country a voice that they never had before. But to try and deny that there is bias in the Mainstream Media is not being intellectually honest. So if you think bias is desireable, versus impartial journalism, don't complain about FOX or the New Media. But pointing out the OBVIOUS bias in the MSM is a valid point.
20 million listeners and a multi-million dollar 8 year deal isn't exactly "fading away". It's called success, and providing a scarce product for a high demand. Just think of all those TAXES! Just makes you green with envy, doesn't it?
i did not deny there is a media bias.....nor did i criticize FOX....but to think the liberal press influences people is lame......as 5 of the past 7 presidental elections have gone to the republicans....and FOX (#1 rated) doesnt (effectively) influence people either....if it did, would George W. Bush have a 28% percent approval rating?
To clarify: You did BOTH of those things. You said McCain was whining about media bias, but Repub. journalists were also attacking him. You said I was delusional if I thought FOX was "fair and balanced", which I NEVER asserted. Nor did I claim the MSM influences people. FOX is #1 because for decades, people have been subject to the dominant left-wing slant of the MSM, which is now clearly evident in this election. The New Media provides the other side of the issues, and people want to hear it.
mccain is whining about media bias....NOT me....i acknowledged it....Mccain needs to get over it......as i said before...everyone has an agenda.....but u think its OK for FOX to be biased....but its unfair for MSNBC to show any biased?.....2 bad for u there is freedom of speech in the USA.....and then when u hear something u dont like from the dems, the GOP always counters with: the dems are UNPATRIOTIC....also LAME.
The MSM has been dominated by Left wing shills for decades now. Too bad for YOU the ONE channel that slants to the right is #1. That should tell you something. People want to hear something else other than the liberal echo-chamber that they have been subjected to for decades. Its one thing if you come out and admit your bias. But these MSM hacks call themselves "journalists" which is unacceptable when they are so obviously in the tank for Obam-uh. Dems bad-mouthing the US...THAT is LAME.
i think George W. Bush's 28% approval rating shows there are plenty of reasons for criticism....from the media and the general public....republicans have screwed up the iraq war, the economy, KATRINA etc....FOX also thinks its has 'journalists'...even though FOX has been reading ROVE/WHITE HOUSE 'talking points' for years.....that is very definition of a journalist SCHILL....at least MSNBC comes up with their own material.
Hold on, now. I thought we were talking about media bias. You throw in Big W, Iraq and Katrina all in one incomprehensible argument... why exactly? We can argue the nuts and bolts of each individual channel's bias and talking points if you want. It could get tedious. The fact still remains... the vast majority of the MSM is GROSSLY BIASED toward Obama, and are now in OPEN SUPPORT of his candidacy... which is far from "journalism". Say what you want about FOX, they do not openly support McCain.
'Say what you want about FOX, they do not openly support McCain'...they openly support MccAin and trash OBAMA which is there perogative....as i wrote the other day: the liberal MSM is doing a poor job of influencing if 5 of the past 7 pres. election were won by the GOP....ditto for #1 rated FOX...which is equally non-influential...as BUSH has a 28% approval rating....CRYING ABOUT the media is LAME.
not sure how u define a landslide?...but the OBAMA will win the electoral count 320 to 220.....and 54% to 46% nationwide...and dems will easily control the house and the senate in 2009....write me in 5 wks after GOP gets crushed....bashing congress, whether its controlled by dems or the GOP is pretty lame 2.
Did you pull your crystal ball out for that one, Carnak? You can pull numbers out of your posterior, but the polls will tell the story in November. Congress DESERVES to be bashed. Pelosi and her thugs are running it into the ground. Congress created this housing/economy mess and now they are going to pilfer our tax dollars to make it even worse. But to you, criticizing these bastards is "lame". Well, to the rest of us, criticizing Bush and giving these crooks a pass is lame. Gimme a break.
you will be calling me CARNAK in 5 weeks after I have exactly predicted the future...congress did not create the housing mess...the banks on wall street wanted deregulation...which they got...so they were allowed to make bad loans...which the banks still thought were moneymakers (??)....also MCCAIN and OBAMA both approve of congresses bailout plan....a bailout for wall street banks....which is lame ...but unfortunately needed.
Doubtful. Congress DID create this mess with BAD/OVER regulation. The CRA passed by Carter, and made a monster by Clinton, led to the sub prime mess by requiring that lenders put people into homes they couldnt afford. Then Fannie & Freddie bought up billions of bad loans and was looted/run into the ground by your Dem buddies. The answer is not bailout...the answer is bankruptcy. The Congress had countless opportunities to address F&F, which are at the heart of this mess... AND THEY CHOSE NOT TO.
the BANKS wanted the dereguation...to allow loans to people that couldnt afford them....banks thought even if the mortgages defaulted , they could sell the homes again...except then the housing market crashed, so the banks were stuck with worthless (unsellable) homes.....i dont think F&F got caught up in the sub-prime trap....not sure were F&F went wrong...but it wasnt subprime loans.
There WAS NO DEREGULATION. I don't know how many times I need to say this. There was OVERregulation, there was BAD regulation, but not DEregulation. The CRA was the catalyst for these predatory loans. F&F bought them up like water because Raines believed them to be "riskless". That is, of course, the same man who skimmed over $100 million off the top as CEO of Fannie. As soon as the mortgages rates went sky high, and these poor schlubs couldn't pay and had to foreclose, this mess began.
there was plenty of regulation...banks needed to prove income to make them eligible...then congress allowed everyone to qualify...which the BANKS were OK with...u dont think banking lobbyists helped push thru the deregation???....so the banks got what they wanted.....the ability to make bad loans...which blew up in their faces.....dont blame congress....blame the banks....for making dumb loans.
First you say plenty of regulation, then you say there was deregulation. Make up your mind. The banks were not "okay" with teh CRA. They were FORCED to lend to these people. Banks were assigned a "CRA rating" based on how many loans they gave to lower income areas. If the CRA rating wasn't high enough, the banks would be punished by provisions in the CRA law. THE GOVERNMENT CREATED THIS PROBLEM WITH BAD LEGISLATION. BAD REGULATION!
i'll try again....there were legistated qualifications bank used to make loans....banks and dems and republicans wanted the qualifications dropped, which made it easier for banks 2 make high risk loans....banks made the high risk loans (no one forced the banks to make these high risk loans)...the loans defaulted (as could have been predicted)...banks were stuck with a worthless home b/c the real estate market crashed...i dont know who's fault that was....i think u blame F&F.
Speaking of approval ratings... the Congressional approval ratings have been hovering around 9% for quite a long time. Remind me... who has controlled Congress for the last several years now? I'll give you a hint: It ain't George W. Bush. The Dems should win this election cycle in a landslide considering the political circumstances. As it stands now, many are suggesting that the chances of Dems losing the White House, & one or both houses of Congress, is quite real. November will be interesting.
Its funny how angry ppl get when a media organization actually does a little bit of its job. Its like how dare they tell the truth. They think that they make the truth. the american ppl are supposed to live of life of debt and obediance. This guy should get off his knees and quit suckin fascist dick.
Steve Schmidt is a liar and nothing he says can be believed. In the Rove vein there is no untruth he will not utter. The American people look like they have finally had enough of the Bush/Cheney/Rove/Schmidt, and unfortunately now McCain, lies to the American people.
To hassleoffa: People who eat babies tend to vote democrat.
Still think your demagogurey holds water, after my substitution? And if you actually could read, you would have written "People WHO read..." and NOT people "that" read. Can you say IRONY??
No problem. I prefer my babies rare on a bed of gay lettuce. I know ... rare babies ... what about the salmonella? No worries. In my fantasy land I can always get health care that I made you pay for. Of course it's all served up by illegal immigrants. Cooked in an oven heated by burning bibles and forged from the steel of the guns we take from you. Of course we paid for all of this by raising your taxes.
Wow, I couldn't have depicted your position any better than you just did. Congratulations, Dr.Mengele. You have finally embraced the truth. Not much exaggeration, either. Well done indeed.
"The McCain campaign just doesn't want anyone to call them out on anything. It hopes to intimidate reporters and discredit those who try to give an honest account of the campaign."
No, the New York Times is fact-based, and republicans hate facts. They hate it that anybody is pointing out all the lies the republicans are telling. It's bullshit to say that the NYT is not neutral. If Obama told lies, they would point them out as well! They use government statistics and documented facts to back up stories! Unlike Fox, which presents no facts, just biased opinions based on nothing but what they want people to believe. Point out one fact that the NYT has reported inaccurately!
Nah, poor republicans. The media doesnt follow your talking points. Isnt it the job of these campaigners to convince journalists of their agenda. What do they expect? Yes, there is media bias. Fox News is pro republican and this campaign loves to make use of this. Is the Obama camp running arround and whines?
The last week was a devastating week for McCain. Analyze the reasons instead of whining!
When Leslie Stahl was on O'Reilly he asked her point blank: "Can you name one...ONE... conservative, anywhere in the CBS News organization?" Leslie Stahl admitted she could not name even ONE.
The MSM has CHOSEN to make the Valerie Plame case one of the most written about news stories of the decade, even tho the Court ruled that NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED. The same MSM CHOSE to believe that Sandy Berger STEALING Top Secret intelligence docs out of a Senate Investigation is a "non-story". ???
Absolutely, 100 percent, on point. Media bias has revealed itself in this election, in how a candidate such as Obama could be allowed to rise to the top without any scrutiny at all! He hasn't even proven his US citizenship! And Sarah Palin has been attacked mercilessly on so many levels with unsubstantiated claims and outright falsities (created by the media itself!). If ever there has been doubt, let it be erased. The evidence is in the NYT and on the nightly news. We're saturated with it.
2008 contributions by the media etc.: Computer & Internet - $24,255,207 (62% to Democrats) Books, Magazines & Papers - $12,187,548 (78% to Democrats) Computer Software - $8,922,053 (61% to Democrats) Motion Picture Industry - $7,523,136 (88% to Democrats) Cable & Satellite TV - $6,303,046 (63% to Democrats) Music Recording Industry - $2,983,755 (79% to Democrats) Television Production and Distribution - $2,322,587 (86% to Democrats)
Alright Limbaugh Jr., I'm glad you figured out the copy+paste function on your computer. Yet, you fail to realize that all these industries employ the American middle class. Not mid-east oil!
"Red Scare" tactics cloak the rich from stealing from the masses. You are only enabling the top 1% of this country to slowly turn America into a 3rd world police state. So no to war profiteers, vote Obama.
those damn socialists from alaska who take $3K handouts from the Alaskan govt from rich oil companies! They should give it back and let the oil companies keep it!
Amen. It's about time the McCain campaign laid it on the line. The Big Liberal Media has become nothing more than a subsidiary of the Obama Campaign. Finally someone with the guts to stand up and say it.
He's right - the NY Times accepts uncritically anything that Obama and Biden say, while voicing criticism only for the McCain camp. That's not journalism. These are not reporters whose mission is to inform the public of all aspects, both positive and negative, of the candidates and their positions. I've noticed this throughout the campaign, and it's disappointing (I'm writing this as someone who wants to see the NY Times do better - there are certain aspects of their publication that I do like).
Why did the NYT go with a FIRST PAGE story alleging John McCain was having an affair with a lobbyist, and there was NO EVIDENCE TO PROVE IT? Yet, they completely disreguard John Edward's elicit affair with his bimbo and subsequent love child?? This is just one clear example. On a daily basis, the NYT slimes McCain/Palin and beatifies Obama/Biden. They have reduced themselves to a left-wing tabloid, and the National Enquirer is ABOVE them!
The NYT lost any credibility that they had left after being traitors and releasing secret security information to our enemies. Cancel NYT subscriptions if you still take this lying paper.
"Secret Security Information" eh? Every drug dealer and terrorist on the planet KNOWS not to say anything on the phone or internet, so exactly what was the big secret? The only secret was that they decided to monitor all of us!
Is there anything you wouldn't go along with? Seriously?
Seriously, the NYTimes is a traitor organization and no longer respected. Their subscriptions are tanking (thankfully) and they won't be along for too many more years (thankfully). Hope NBC and MSNBC also go under.
THANK GOD someone is finally speaking TRUTH to BIAS!!! The Main-Stream-Media is so clearly in the tank for Obama that to NOT talk about it as dysfunctionally scary as the bias itself!
Can any sane, rational person truly believe that "news" stories about Palin's pregnant daughter are in the same league as Obama's LONG-STANDING ties to admitted anti-American terrorist William Ayers??? Yet the biased media has done NO reporting whatsoever on Obama's murky past and anti-American ties. WHY??????
NYT stock has been in freefall for years. It's worth about 1/5th of what it was just 4 years ago. Pinch will ride it into the ground until he finds a suitable commie sugar daddy to help.
Steve Schmidt tells it like it is. The Lamestream bias needs to be screamed out at every turn. The MSM will continue their attacks but at least some of the voting public become aware of their deceitful ways.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Had nothing to say about my comment about the Republican propaganda machine Fox News did you? That's what I thought. McCain Campaign = We only like news that is favorable to us. That's why they cried like babies when Campbell Brown on CNN actually asked journalistic questions, and so they canceled their interview with Larry King to go cry at home.
get a grip. You were talking about how tough Larry King is as an interviewer. I pointed out one of his tough questions to Imanutjob during that interview. Made you look foolish.
I didn't talk about my Larry King being a tough interviewer dumbass. I was talking about how Campbell Brown handed Tucker Bounds his ass in an interview, and later on that day the McCain campaign told CNN they were canceling their interview they were supposed to do later that night with CNN because of Campbell's interview. Learn to read dipshit.
Just like typical rightwing nuts cutting quotes where they see fit and not taking the whole quote: "That's why they cried like babies when Campbell Brown on CNN actually asked journalistic questions, and so they canceled their interview with Larry King to go cry at home."
They canceled the CNN Larry King interview because of the earlier interview with Campbell Brown. Now go shoot some squirrel and possum for supper and don't forget to brush the teeth you have left.
I would have cancelled the interview, too, if an "impartial" journalist who was in the tank for the other guy was taking pot shots at a campaign rep. If you are going to ask tough questions, thats one thing. But if you are going to spew DNC talking points and engage in attacks as a surrogate of the Obama campaign, that is unacceptable, and not worthy of the name "journalist".
I can see a fool typing. If this is the level of discussion you seek, childish and ignorant, I see no reason to continue this dialogue. Embrace your bias and prejudice you "downright mean" American. Cheers.
Yeah, Campbell Brown is married to a Republican so "impartial" my ass, just bc she doesn't spew RNC talking points. She was asking ACTUAL questions, on to name ONE, JUST ONE, specific thing which gives her foreign policy credibility and Tucker Bounds gets all bent out of shape. Then he tries to dodge and say she is "belittling" Palin to make it look like a woman catfight btw her and Palin and it didn't work. She didn't spew DNC talking points at all if you ACTUALLY watch the video.
I did watch the video. You clearly have NOT, or are purposefully misrepresenting it. Brown was arrogant, condescending, & attacking Bounds... interrupting his answers & spewing Obama's talking points. She began the interview exploiting Palin's pregnant daughter, & said Palin was cruel for putting her in the spotlight. Clearly nonsense. Then she used a gotcha ? about foreign policy. She didnt ask actual questions. She WAS belittling Palin's record with her nonsense. She is in the tank for Obama.
Mark Twain warned us never to pick a fight with anyone who buys ink by the barrell. But the NYT will soon be buying ink merely by the gallon owing to its declining subscriber rolls; and I for one will be more than extatic to get my news henceforth from more trustworthy sources. The Old Grey Lady is in her dotage.
Usually, going to war with the press produces fantastic results for Republican candidates. It rallies the compassion and support of conservative voters while encouraging more negative coverage on the opposition (driven by an editorial decision by the paper that their reporting must be more "even-handed.")
McCain campaign manager Rick Davis had earned nearly $2 million in lobbying fees from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (based, almost primarily, on his access to McCain) at the same time that he was attacking Barack Obama for his own ties to those very institutions, aides to McCain went off.
pinesol - If you could tear yourself away for a minute from wacking off to those bikini wax vids you have bookmarked as "favorites" you might be able to comprehend the irony of posting biased NY Times talking points as a rebuttal to this vid.
Can't tell who you are siding with, laying out those numbers makes dems look innocent, when there was billions of dollars lost and distributed among those who benefited from a deregulated stock market. Especially the McCain lobbyists.
ah yes Franklin Raines did apparently receive $90 million. The only connection was an Obama adviser spoke with him...if this the most significant tie to the stock market crash, Obama has the election in the bag and even if more evidence surfacess, John McCain's history of support for a deregulated market will certainly cripple any chances this out of touch puppet has.
Franklin Raines is a Democrat. Appointed to Fannie or Freddy by Clinton. He's advising Obama also. You can deny it all you want to but the facts are facts. This wasn't caused by deregulation as you claim. It was caused by corruption at Frannie/Freddy.
No, it was allowing a free market system to run amok without intervention until it was too late. Lie, deny and repeat. The mantra of Bush and McCain. Keating 5 and now The Great Depression part 2. Thanks McCain.
In 2005, the republicans tried to prevent the tragedy of Fannie/Freddie but Democrats voted against it. Nice try bioflavin. And even now, the Dems are trying to give money to Acorn in the bailout. Acorn is an organization that has community organizers being jailed for vote fraud. Obama and Acorn have deep ties.
So you blame a single piece of legislation four years ago on our current economic crisis? That's absurd. Just now a majority of Republicans voted "nay" to Bush's backed bail out bill, hmm final nail in McCranky's campaign?
Actually all it takes is one smart piece of legislation. All financial people are saying the problem started with Freddy/Fannie and the loans to people who could not afford the loans. Congress (Democrats) forced banks to loan to poor people. Yes, I do blame one single piece of legislation four years ago.
Perfect, you now blame the "poor." I'll admit, democrats have tried to help low income families with housing loans, and yes its these loans that caused most of these problems, yet these loans should have been issued under a regulated system. Its worked in the past, up until Bush, McCain and many other republicants removed the progress made by Clinton.
No, I blamed the Democrats and shady politicians who exploited the poor and skimmed millions of the top. The problem was not under-regulation, the problem was BAD/OVER regulation. The CRA was the birth of the monster, created by social engineers, that has destroyed the housing market & the economy. There was no PROGRESS made by Carter/Clinton. Only destruction of our financial system and hurting the people they claimed they were helping by giving them crappy loans for homes they couldnt afford.
Progress by Clinton? Yeah, giving mortgages to unqualified people. A home is a privilege and not a constitutional mandate. You get a house when you can afford it. Millions of Americans had to follow this rule but then Barney Franks, Clinton, B.O., and Dodd decided to give the poor a house that they could not afford. Who scammed the poor? The liberals!
Fox is the one and only network that gives conservatives a voice at all and all of you open-minded liberals want to censor it and shut it down. Liberalism = fascism, the fascism of the one party state with the one party news media. Today's Democratic Party and biased media have more in common with Putin's Russia than they do with JFK's Democratic Party.
The new york times has ran several front page articles with lies about Sarah Palin. They've reported that Sarah Palin was a member of an extremist political party advocating for Alaskan secession. Their retractions are burried in their publication. If you want to base your decisions on lies then keep reading the new york times.
Jamie Gorelick earned 26 million from Fannie & Freddie. James Johnson earned millions. Barack Obama took $126,000 from them in just three years (with 150 days work in the senate) Franklin Raines made over 100 million dollars from Fan & Fred. Do you really wont to go there?
It's amusing to see David Axelrod's astroturfing zombies always leaping on the pro McCain vids immediately. The Obama campaign has a thousand internet goons on staff watching YouTube and conservative blogs 24/7. They have the blogs on RSS feed and think they've got an edge by posting their stupidity and getting it in there first. They actually think they're convincing people by being abusive dishonest zealots.
McCain and his followers are a bunch of whiners, "wah, its not fair to use facts and technology, wah, I don't want to debate on Friday, wah." Shut up and let people who care about this country take the reigns. McCain is old, out of touch, and not beneficial for the majority. Get your hands of the tax payers money and retire!
Well ... we all know what this idiot has to say now. He should be deported or shoot as a traitor. He by his own admission knew what palin was all about. All the gays or Musslims in the world could not have done more damage. I do love it however that people like this have there words come back at them.

JSMan55 3 years ago 2
i did not deny there is a media bias.....nor did i criticize FOX....but to think the liberal press influences people is lame......as 5 of the past 7 presidental elections have gone to the republicans....and FOX (#1 rated) doesnt (effectively) influence people either....if it did, would George W. Bush have a 28% percent approval rating?
jrebstock 3 years ago
To clarify: You did BOTH of those things. You said McCain was whining about media bias, but Repub. journalists were also attacking him. You said I was delusional if I thought FOX was "fair and balanced", which I NEVER asserted. Nor did I claim the MSM influences people. FOX is #1 because for decades, people have been subject to the dominant left-wing slant of the MSM, which is now clearly evident in this election. The New Media provides the other side of the issues, and people want to hear it.
JSMan55 3 years ago
mccain is whining about media bias....NOT me....i acknowledged it....Mccain needs to get over it......as i said before...everyone has an agenda.....but u think its OK for FOX to be biased....but its unfair for MSNBC to show any biased?.....2 bad for u there is freedom of speech in the USA.....and then when u hear something u dont like from the dems, the GOP always counters with: the dems are UNPATRIOTIC....also LAME.
jrebstock 3 years ago
The MSM has been dominated by Left wing shills for decades now. Too bad for YOU the ONE channel that slants to the right is #1. That should tell you something. People want to hear something else other than the liberal echo-chamber that they have been subjected to for decades. Its one thing if you come out and admit your bias. But these MSM hacks call themselves "journalists" which is unacceptable when they are so obviously in the tank for Obam-uh. Dems bad-mouthing the US...THAT is LAME.
JSMan55 3 years ago
i think George W. Bush's 28% approval rating shows there are plenty of reasons for criticism....from the media and the general public....republicans have screwed up the iraq war, the economy, KATRINA etc....FOX also thinks its has 'journalists'...even though FOX has been reading ROVE/WHITE HOUSE 'talking points' for years.....that is very definition of a journalist SCHILL....at least MSNBC comes up with their own material.
jrebstock 3 years ago
Hold on, now. I thought we were talking about media bias. You throw in Big W, Iraq and Katrina all in one incomprehensible argument... why exactly? We can argue the nuts and bolts of each individual channel's bias and talking points if you want. It could get tedious. The fact still remains... the vast majority of the MSM is GROSSLY BIASED toward Obama, and are now in OPEN SUPPORT of his candidacy... which is far from "journalism". Say what you want about FOX, they do not openly support McCain.
JSMan55 3 years ago
'Say what you want about FOX, they do not openly support McCain'...they openly support MccAin and trash OBAMA which is there perogative....as i wrote the other day: the liberal MSM is doing a poor job of influencing if 5 of the past 7 pres. election were won by the GOP....ditto for #1 rated FOX...which is equally non-influential...as BUSH has a 28% approval rating....CRYING ABOUT the media is LAME.
jrebstock 3 years ago
not sure how u define a landslide?...but the OBAMA will win the electoral count 320 to 220.....and 54% to 46% nationwide...and dems will easily control the house and the senate in 2009....write me in 5 wks after GOP gets crushed....bashing congress, whether its controlled by dems or the GOP is pretty lame 2.
jrebstock 3 years ago
Did you pull your crystal ball out for that one, Carnak? You can pull numbers out of your posterior, but the polls will tell the story in November. Congress DESERVES to be bashed. Pelosi and her thugs are running it into the ground. Congress created this housing/economy mess and now they are going to pilfer our tax dollars to make it even worse. But to you, criticizing these bastards is "lame". Well, to the rest of us, criticizing Bush and giving these crooks a pass is lame. Gimme a break.
JSMan55 3 years ago
you will be calling me CARNAK in 5 weeks after I have exactly predicted the future...congress did not create the housing mess...the banks on wall street wanted deregulation...which they got...so they were allowed to make bad loans...which the banks still thought were moneymakers (??)....also MCCAIN and OBAMA both approve of congresses bailout plan....a bailout for wall street banks....which is lame ...but unfortunately needed.
jrebstock 3 years ago
JSMan55 3 years ago
the BANKS wanted the dereguation...to allow loans to people that couldnt afford them....banks thought even if the mortgages defaulted , they could sell the homes again...except then the housing market crashed, so the banks were stuck with worthless (unsellable) homes.....i dont think F&F got caught up in the sub-prime trap....not sure were F&F went wrong...but it wasnt subprime loans.
jrebstock 3 years ago
There WAS NO DEREGULATION. I don't know how many times I need to say this. There was OVERregulation, there was BAD regulation, but not DEregulation. The CRA was the catalyst for these predatory loans. F&F bought them up like water because Raines believed them to be "riskless". That is, of course, the same man who skimmed over $100 million off the top as CEO of Fannie. As soon as the mortgages rates went sky high, and these poor schlubs couldn't pay and had to foreclose, this mess began.
JSMan55 3 years ago
there was plenty of regulation...banks needed to prove income to make them eligible...then congress allowed everyone to qualify...which the BANKS were OK with...u dont think banking lobbyists helped push thru the deregation???....so the banks got what they wanted.....the ability to make bad loans...which blew up in their faces.....dont blame congress....blame the banks....for making dumb loans.
jrebstock 3 years ago
First you say plenty of regulation, then you say there was deregulation. Make up your mind. The banks were not "okay" with teh CRA. They were FORCED to lend to these people. Banks were assigned a "CRA rating" based on how many loans they gave to lower income areas. If the CRA rating wasn't high enough, the banks would be punished by provisions in the CRA law. THE GOVERNMENT CREATED THIS PROBLEM WITH BAD LEGISLATION. BAD REGULATION!
JSMan55 3 years ago
i'll try again....there were legistated qualifications bank used to make loans....banks and dems and republicans wanted the qualifications dropped, which made it easier for banks 2 make high risk loans....banks made the high risk loans (no one forced the banks to make these high risk loans)...the loans defaulted (as could have been predicted)...banks were stuck with a worthless home b/c the real estate market crashed...i dont know who's fault that was....i think u blame F&F.
jrebstock 3 years ago
Speaking of approval ratings... the Congressional approval ratings have been hovering around 9% for quite a long time. Remind me... who has controlled Congress for the last several years now? I'll give you a hint: It ain't George W. Bush. The Dems should win this election cycle in a landslide considering the political circumstances. As it stands now, many are suggesting that the chances of Dems losing the White House, & one or both houses of Congress, is quite real. November will be interesting.

They have reduced themselves to a left-wing tabloid, and the National Enquirer is ABOVE them!

bioflavin 3 years ago
Franklin Raines is a Democrat. Appointed to Fannie or Freddy by Clinton. He's advising Obama also. You can deny it all you want to but the facts are facts. This wasn't caused by deregulation as you claim. It was caused by corruption at Frannie/Freddy.

bioflavin 3 years ago
Actually all it takes is one smart piece of legislation. All financial people are saying the problem started with Freddy/Fannie and the loans to people who could not afford the loans. Congress (Democrats) forced banks to loan to poor people. Yes, I do blame one single piece of legislation four years ago.
nodem2 3 years ago
Perfect, you now blame the "poor." I'll admit, democrats have tried to help low income families with housing loans, and yes its these loans that caused most of these problems, yet these loans should have been issued under a regulated system. Its worked in the past, up until Bush, McCain and many other republicants removed the progress made by Clinton.
bioflavin 3 years ago
No, I blamed the Democrats and shady politicians who exploited the poor and skimmed millions of the top. The problem was not under-regulation, the problem was BAD/OVER regulation. The CRA was the birth of the monster, created by social engineers, that has destroyed the housing market & the economy. There was no PROGRESS made by Carter/Clinton. Only destruction of our financial system and hurting the people they claimed they were helping by giving them crappy loans for homes they couldnt afford.
JSMan55 3 years ago
Progress by Clinton? Yeah, giving mortgages to unqualified people. A home is a privilege and not a constitutional mandate. You get a house when you can afford it.
