@redstratocaster1942 thanks for the comment. check out my Good Bad Ugly video too, there are locations near Madrid and Burgos, so depending on where you are in Spain there could be some closer to you.
great video. Will be in Andalusie next month ans would like top visit these locations. pleas let me know the route you took foor finding these locations. Would be very happa to receive. p.bosua@chello.nl
I used to ski in those big mountains to the west. I remember looking down on the plains below- at the time, i didn't know those plains were the location for so many Leone movies.
Great stuff. I am an avid film buff(especially Spaghetti westerns)and love to find info and pics of locations from the great films. So glad that people like you provide us with this glimpse into then and now. I get a sort of sad, wistful feeling when watching these vids...such great films, maybe one day they will be resurrected but never as good as the ones in the 60's and 70's(greatest period ever for filmmaking in my opinion). Thank you for the great content my friend.
@Methadone4Life thanks for the kind comments, the locations are changing fast with the onward march of development but there are still magical places to visit.
@Nualchemist The town Los Albaricoques existed before, it appears in many movies, Fistful of Dollars, Few Dollars More, Tepepa, Day of Anger, El Condor, other I can't think of right now. Many of the locals appeared as extras in the movies.
Yeah, that's true, Leone used the same location in "Fistful of Dollars" too. I guess the town was in a primitive state in those days. Thank you for the reply!
this is great but could be greater with the actual scenes from the films to compare them to.But some i recognised, On my dvds of sergios's films there are stills versions that compare then and now locations but it'd be better with the moving image.
Yes it was, although a lot of Fistful was filmed up near Madrid some scenes were filmed in Almeria, notably Marisol's house, now the Hotel Cortijo de Sotillo.
Bravo, how very romatic and mesmorising.I remember these locations from the films when I was a young boy. These films even inspire me as an artist.Bravo amigo.
Yes entirely agree. Just sat here with head rested on hands, soaking it all up. Thank you for doing this - some of the greatest films ever made, by a true artist and a first class cast. You could almost feel the heat! Thank you so much.
I'm gonna go there!!!! Saludos de Italia!!!

Blimey Agwacaliente has hardly changed since El Indio and his gang came up against Col Douglas Mortimer and Manco.
The final scene to this great video is the unmistakeable open credit sequence of For a Few Dollars More.
It has not changed one little bit
Many many thanks for showing such a memorable filmset.

Did Leone build those white buildings for Aguacariente scene or did he just used already existing buildings?
