  • Sounds more like a nerve gas than a bio weapon here. Perhaps V X Gas that has the lethality to kills in minutes. Bio weapons usually take longer to kill except bio toxins so that might of been the killer here.

  • warninig,if you are a bad actor,stay at your home !

  • 6 people are part of the family?

  • I adored this movie when I was younger! :D

  • Bill Clinton at 1:02

  • Where's all the fly's?

  • Those people aren't dead, that's my same expression hearing and watching the news broadcast.

  • Easy acting roles.

  • you know this movie scare the crap out of me when i was little, then came ''The Day After[1983]'' and ''Threads'' because something like this could come in real life.

  • hahaha

  • As many times that I have watched The Omega Man, i've never seen this clip of the movie. I've always missed the first few minutes of the movie. I never knew this man was a newscaster in the movie.

  • You know the movie is old then they zoom in to dead peoples open mouths....

  • Anthony Zerbe was great.

  • that's what happens when the coppers initiate a gang stalking scenerio....ppl die!

  • This movie was a great movie, but the original book is FAAAAAAAR better.

  • This movie was a remake of the Vincent Price version, the Last Man on Earth. I have seen both of these movies several times and I think they are both good in their own right. I think the Vincent Price version is closer to the book, but this movie is a classic in its self. Charlton Heston is great in this movie. He gets to utter his trademark phrase, " My God" several times throughout the movie. Love the intro scenes of the movie when Heston is driving thru the city alone listening to an 8 track.

  • Heh, CONELRAD. Very old school, the predecessor to the EBS (later EAS).

  • I like the fact that this movie used "CONELRAD" even though it no longer existed, at the time the movie was to have taken place. I just think it is cool, that it was used, myself.

  • theres a new total recall coming out apparently at the end of this year. bollocks!

  • Saw this in the theater when it came out and it scaired the hell out of me.

  • Exellent movie , well worth seeing , if you have nt plz do .

  • 1:00

    Jay Leno laughing.

  • Matthias was a bad night boy...

  • If a war would break out between Russia and China.... the looser would be the USA.-

  • @bbenjoe Negative, it was discerned in 1994 that the Russian's targeting of ICBM's would miss 45% of there targets, 22% wouldn't leave there launch tubes, and that the only way they could inflict considerable damage for a non retaliation strike was to hit ever major target with 8-10 MERV's to our 1-4 MERV's per target. The thing was the Russians never had the missiles with that many warheads to actually hit us in strength.

  • @totenkray That's why they also put the smallpox virus on their nuclear missiles too ensure total victory over the West the event of nuke war, which they secretly engineered in their labs. So it would be not just just nuclear war but gem warefare with it.

  • @Professor6871 Negative. The Cyno-Russian war described is using biological-germ munitions. As in "Omega Man - End of the World- Memory" here on youtube the voice over says, "Abort firings, abort firings, interception will fragment bacilli carrying missiles." a nuke coupled with germs wouldn't work since 1960's and 1970's doctrine was to intercept an incoming nuke with a nuke. So if they killed a nuke it would be with a resulting nuke explosion.

  • @totenkray That's rubbish what would be the point of intercepting a nuke with a nuke you'd just get a double explosion makes no sense. that. Anyway I'm talking about the real world, not this film, in which the Soviet's researched, developed and then put the smallpox virus on their nucelar missiles. They wouldn't have done all that top secret research back in the 70s and 80s, if it wasn't going to work they want stupid you know.

  • @Professor6871 The former USSR admitted in 1996 that they had no weaponized strategic payloads for Smallpox/BW's but only test munitions fired from artillery or SBRM, which means Short Range Ballistic Missile, like a SCUD. The Russians decalcified all there West German operational plans, which included but not limited to strategic nuke strikes and chemical weapons. The Russians have published they never would have used bio weapons other then in direct delivery. Your claim has no validity.

  • @totenkray Cobblers! You believe that from the Russians that they didn't have smallpox in their missiles then god your nieve. In 1992 biolo scientist who defected to the west said the Soviet's had weaponised smallpox and other deadly mircobs, so that they could put them on too nuclear missiles. His name was Dan Dandelgardo and he was the headof the top secret programme during the 1980s in Siberia. The Soviet's would have done anything to achieve an absolute victory in a nucler war.

  • @Professor6871 That's a moot point, it's like saying the Russians wanted to win a war with the west which actually was never the case. There is never mention in any documentation, interview or reading I've ever seen of the final victory. Nor is there any Russian or Warsaw Pact missile that has a back up plague option. Sorry dude, after Stalingrad in WWII the Russians main stance was defense, not offense otherwise they'd done it. There goal was to avoid war. Just like us; oddly enough.

  • @totenkray Well if you believe old Soviet Propaganda then your not the first to do so are you. Why did the Soviet's develop so many missiles if they didn't want to destroy the West, thus ensuring an absolute victory? I suppose you'd say the big bad USA would of wanted abolute victory in a nuclear war.

  • @Professor6871 Do you have any concept of what Chemical Warfare, Bio Warfare and or MAD is let alone what Limited Engagement, Theater Wide Engagement or Tactical means? Dood you need to read more instead of covering up your inadequacies and lack of knowledge with guess work and mythical Russian munitions that never ever existed. Even the term "total victory" isn't even a doctrine or lingo or slang of the cold war.

  • @totenkray I do have a concept of both bio and chemical warefare thank you very much. What the hell do I show my inadequate in regard to this subject you patronizing twat. Don't call me dood I'm not one of your drugged out hippies. I've read plenty mate about this subject and I don't need some two arse prick too tell me otherwise. All my info is facts incontrovertible facts, all which I've said on this matter, just look them up than simply rejecting them out of hand.

  • @Professor6871 Well you are talking about munition, payloads and deliver systems and doctrine that never existed under the big cloud of "evil Russians can do anything" and that they never admitted it because "it's classified." Sorry, that doesn't work based on reality. Thanks for playing effete British Dude.

  • @totenkray and don't forget even more disconcerting terms like acceptable loss and window of vulnerability. It makes me wonder if a counterforce strike would have succeeded.....glad we never had to find out.

  • @Professor6871 Can I now make up something about the Russians? Oh please, oh please....The Russians had Unicorns in ever missile just incase there +5 Summoned Ice Giants failed. :)

  • @totenkray Well it wouldn't surprise me in the least your pretty stupid. I suppose you want to disregard the truth because its inconvenant If you want to lower the intellectual debate too the level of the primary school then be my quest. But just leave the rest of the adults to carry on with their more sensible comments here that's a good kid.

  • @totenkray Your twat6 plane and simple. If your want to be scarastic go fucking somewhere else and do it. This is intelligent debate here and so your in the wrong place.

  • @Professor6871 Dude, it's the web, there is nothing or intellectual prowess going on here.

  • @Professor6871 and in any conflict too, they should have never been allowed to get away with their transgressions after World War 2....

  • @totenkray actually they did have a dead man's switch and complex for sustaining command and control in the event of a US preemptive counterforce strike. Not too mention live chemical agents were utilized in Warsaw Pact training exercises.

  • @Professor6871 Negative. The fashionable mass wouldn't excite or detonate but only vaporize the wareheads. Look up how a Hydrogen bomb or infused, enriched bomb mechanism works. Nike missiles used nuclear warheads to knock out incoming bombers or missiles. All it would do would be to vaprize and spread a fissionable metal as fallout after vaporizing it to gas. Google the "AIR-2 Genie", a versions still in use today. It uses a nuke to knock out bombers.

  • @totenkray Rubbish there's no defence against nukes. Where did you find this info from Wikkipedia?

  • @Professor6871 What you talking about Willis. There is what's called a ballistic missile shield uses nukes to nuke missiles/rockets and conventional warheads to stop if not majority intercept. As well as being versed in military doctrine of the era, it's machines, it's tactics and capabilities you are blathering based on "evil empire" and "those sneaky Ruski" make believe. You've yet to refute any of my counter claims on your erroneous claims. Give it up dowd.

  • @totenkray That is where you've probably got all your cock eyed info from Wilkis on nuclear war. The USSR was an evil empire because what were the Gulags in Siberia then fucking holiday camps you stupid bone head? Its no blathering you patronizing idiot. I shall repeat for the thickos like you out there who seem to love Russia: Back then the Soviets wanted ultmate victory and bio warfare coupled with nuclear weapons was that solution. That is the whole point of havig war in the first place.

  • @Professor6871 well there could have been but it was never developed due to SALT. The fear being that if someone thought you could defend your nation from ICBMs you'd be more inclined to attempt a preemptive strike.

  • @Professor6871 That makes absolutely no sense, I agree loading an ICBM with a biological payload is a good tactic and entirely doable, but putting both a nuclear warhead and a virus head will simply give you a normal explosion and lots of incinerated bacilli.

  • @Joel354vanfanel The entire strategy called mutual assured destruction ( Mad for short) could hardly have been called sensible. It meant total nuclear annihilation of life on the planet. The Soviets wouldn't of put a deadly virus like Smallpox on their missiles, if it wasn't going to survive the explosions. Too much top secret research had been done in the 70s and 80s for it to fail at the last hurdle.

  • @Professor6871 Read my response, autist, I never even touched the MAD topic, neither all the other well known facts about the Cold War, I'm just saying it's stupid to load BOTH a bioweapon and a nuclear warhead on the same missile. What happens when the nuke explodes? Your bacteria/virus get vaporized.

  • @Joel354vanfanel How dare you use the word autist to me? I find that very offensive you patronising twat. I don't care if you didn't bring up in the MAD topic because I did. Its supposed to be a conversation where we try and move it along and not just except your views. Heard of it?

  • awesome smiley at 1:02

  • anthony zerbe- GREAT actor!

  • If you take this film, 'Soylent Green' and 'Idiocracy' and mix 'em, that's the future I see coming...and throw in 'The Road' for good measure! Hope I'll be dead by then-you can all eat my remains as little green wafers too, btw...you're welcome! ;)

  • Maybe you've seen this clip before, maybe not. But maybe, one day in the near future, this News Report could be real. Germ (Biological) Warfare has been planned, the (contagious) vaccines are prepared. Time will tell. Is there any defence?

  • Sagehens!!!!!

  • scary stuff!

  • And now we know what happens

    when everybody watches Bio Dome

    at the same time! XD

  • Anthony Zerbe is Jonathan Matthias and later Jonathan, the "vampire" leader. He's also the guy who tried to screw Picard and the Federation in INSURRECTION and got the shaft instead from F. Murray Abraham.

  • Gulf No-nox?

  • @ajj4account It was the brand name for Gulf Oil Company's gasoline. It was formulated with more lead or a higher octane, I can't recall, and prevented engine knocking. That's something you don't hear much anymore with electronic iginition and fuel injection.

  • CONELRAD channel.....Those were the days.

  • @Nabelnoir back then. It was a probability of a Sino-Soviet war

  • @frankd1965 I know. It's just you didn't hear about CONELRAD much outside of a few films unless you lived in the years when it was a national service. CONELRAD was discontinued in the early 60's with the Emergency Broadcast System being the substitute. In fact with this movie CONELRAD is an anachronism as the movie takes place in 1975. That is more than a decade since the radio service was replaced.

  • thanks for the tidbit there. I was born in 1965 and I saw this on TV back in the mid 1970's.

  • @frankd1965 No problem. I was born in late 69 and I too saw it on television. I think it was also in the late 70's. I never knew what CONELRAD was until 1999 when I came across a Civil Defense enthusiast site on the web. I just found the whole thing a litte facinating.

  • Homega man is better.

  • what the hell is homega man?

  • Simpsons parody on treehouse of horror.

  • @misho457ify You mean Omega Man.

  • Comment removed

  • @DJYellow22 yes but the book's far better than these films. In that ending you have no happy endings that Hollywood always seems to dictact in movies. The money men who have no imagination, over there it seems, always screw up movies.

  • There's a nasty flu in the Ukraine right now. It's dissolving the lungs of those that it kills. Read that the Ukraine is under martial law right now. Google: Ukraine flu lungs dissolved

  • This is the blueprint for the program now due to be ushered in under "swine Flu" "vaccination"

Its odd how the Illuminati need to publicise their intentions and past atrocities, disguised as entertainment.

I am legend, 2012, etc etc - the list is quite extensive

  • mallamoozoo

Have you seen "The Invasion' starring Nicole Kidman? Scary fucking shit man...it's the swine flu vaccine being contaminated with a deadly virus. This is what Alan Watt calls predictive programming in movie.

  • Dear Courtney; I hope that you find the contents of this care package useful. Take care. Love, Uncle Paul

  • I like when the camera zooms in on the dead cop hanging over the seat. Great sequence with the deceased.

  • damn that was scary

  • Anthony Zerbe repirses the role of the leader of the family in see no evil, hear no evil [1988]...check it out and you will see

  • KEITH OLBERMAN in more ways than one.

  • keith is not a zombie more of a complete dickhead sex pest racist....

  • Sounds harbinger of an imminent catastrophe:(

  • Mr Zerbe, I mean (see below)

  • The original I Am Legend

  • Well, almost.

I think the original was "The Last Man on Earth" by Vincent Price.

  • If only the swine flu turned people into zombies.

  • Conelrad warning. Great stuff!

  • Yes, when something like this happens, there is no doubt that the U.S. Military Industrial Complex will be involved with its release, just as the swine flu was lab created

  • BTW sir the Soviets had a program that dwarfed every other nations bio program including the US. Even today Russia and China possess a huge stockpile. We don't.

  • you are of course privy to the classified information on Americas biological weapon stockpile.

    P.S. your a dipshit

  • have any proof that wasn't pulled out of your ass

  • Thank you Mr, Zerbe:

One of the mose under rated actors of the modern era. I love your craft!

  • That's right, we need more newscasters with his skills....I liked him better as the leader of the underground...'Barbarian...a noble word'....indeed...

  • I saw once in the late 1980s sitting in a cafe drinking coffee with a woman in Piccadilly, London

  • Sounds pretentious.

  • Dog Boy got off the road gang and became a prophet

  • Swine Flu.. yep yep

  • ok in the remake, I am Legend, which is set in 2012, the virus starts killing people in 2009.....

  • Was anyone else reminded of the swine flu?

  • Yeah, except for the lots of people dying part.

  • This movie is so good, just so well done in every way! I hate that they felt they had to remake it to make a cheap buck. When will the Hollywood studio scum stop. Leave the classics alone!!..No more remakes of Pink Panther, The Omega man, Poseiden adventure,The day the earth stood still, The Omen and on and on. Now I just read they are gonna remake Rosemary's baby...yet another classic for them to crap on.

  • @CrustyConrad

Gaaaaaahhh, for me the low/old quality of rosemary's baby's picture is part of what makes it.

  • @CrustyConrad They're making a Gilligan's Island movie. Imagine the crap that'll be.

  • @CrustyConrad well you must understand, hollywood are bleeding every film franchise dry for more moolah, and in the process, making shit remakes. i agree with you completely.

  • @CrustyConrad

What's worse is that remakes are getting acceptable in the public's mind. Way too many kids see the remakes first and when they realize they are based upon classic movies they sometimes take a quick peak and decide the special effects look "fake" and the movie is too old and boring.

Presenting old ideas in a fresh new package for a new generation has became a hallmark of Hollywood.

  • classic shot @ 1:01

  • lol, i thought they ment with 'germ' German warfare :-D

  • IF only the Baby Boomers did die off that quickly ha ha ha

  • IF all the baby boomers HAD died off that quickly , your dumb ass would never have been born ha ha ha!

  • Im hoping Matthaias will take over for Tim Russert on Meet the Press!

  • He'll always be Matthias to me.

  • My mom thinks that the news reporter dude is the head leader of "The Family" later in the movie. Is she right?

  • Yes she is. Kinda shows how a man so connected to the world had gone completely against the world he was into before

  • @jonslick13 A "conversioN" in the truest sense of the term

  • @jonslick13 yea, i just bought the bluray for cheap, it scared the living fuckin shit out of me when i was young. same actor, he played the leader and newscaster. he is still around i think, i've seen him in movies now and then.

  • Anthony Zerbe. He's been acting forever. Love seeing him still. He was in one of the last Matrix movies!

  • @Blackdragon52k hey u notice the "gulf oil " logon the gas pump

man tha t bak in the day

  • u understand the connection? Gulf Oil spill - end of the world surrender to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

  • @Blackdragon52k

Yes she's right. He plays Matthias, the Leader of the "Zombies". (Actor Anthony Zerbe.)

  • @bronxbairn A good actor he was. Is he still alive today?

  • @Blackdragon52k yeah she is i noticed that too :L but if you look on imdb it says that the leader of the family used to be a news reporter so that kinda backs it up too

  • both

  • IAL is better. deal with it

  • the book or the moviE?cause the movie fuckd the book over it was horrible if it was called i am legend the movie would have been good but when it is based on a really great book then no it was fucking horrible.

  • The book was good, I think "last man on earth" with Vincent Price replicates the book more closer. The Will Smith movie was ok, but it won't be a classic.

  • Brand new bio (Charlton Heston: An Incredible Life) at amazon. Michelle Bernier is author!

  • I Am Legend was better in my opinion. i love this movie too, but i like I Am Legend better.

  • Blasphemy! IAL with Will(take it back) Smith version he stared in is a remake of the Omega Man.

  • chemtrails ,maybe .

  • Btthey do not use he wheel like he does

  • Conelrad. A memory that is now history. You cannot even find Conelrad materials at US surplus stores, it was all stored at city offices, ROTC centers etc. So it was all returned to the Gov and burnt up.

  • Still my fav movie

  • i want to watch this movie

  • Wow, CONELRAD.

  • What's Conelrad?

  • they look like they just got slapped or something

  • " marshall law is now nationwide ..."

sample from a Ministry song ...

  • No, Ministry sampled that from here!

  • ok ..thanks i stand corrected ...- dougie in austin ...

  • I wanna be Soylent Green.

  • they are not zombies, they are vampires which actually seems strange read the book

  • @0:47 I wonder how much gas was a gallon...

  • Gas in 1974 was $0.30 t0 $33.3 a gallon, a comic book was $0.15 cents, a Hostess apple pie was $0.25 and 711 sold two foot long hot dogs for $0.43. and a pack of cigarettes was $0.25

  • WOW!!! You're so old and wise. :)

  • dont date yourself

  • What was that old addage about 'A Dolloar buys a Nickels' worth'?

  • It a reference to a high cost either in inflation sense or futility sense. In war it means spending several million bombing a single hill and then finding only one dead enemy solider.

  • @totenkray And I miss it so. My car is a '64 Benz. Its engine absolutely NEEDS leaded gasoline. I use a lead additive, but it's just not the same. And I miss those 711 foot longs.

  • @totenkray shit salp me i rember those day notice the "gulf oil " logon the pump a collacttable item if u can find it

  • @totenkray My Mum was born in that year... she tells me about how inexpensive things were growing up.

  • @totenkray Yes, thats because silver backed our money untill Nixon did his bosses bidding.

  • In "I AM LEGEND" , who exactly is the Alpha Male ??

  • do you mean "who" as in the character, or the person who plays him?

  • the person who plays the alpha male is called dash mihok

  • ouch.

  • yeah zerbe was the head zombie and newscaster The things that destroyed the world RIP Omegaman

  • Anthony Zoebe/Zerbe. I think He later appears as the lead zombie/vampire in the film.

  • Yo. There are no "zombies" in this film. They are "Homicidal Albinos" with an intellect.

  • In your opinion.

  • Don't know his name, but actor playing that announcer went on to be great bad guy in numerous films.

  • Isn't it strange how, in the days when this film came out, it almost seemed too far- fetched, too sci fi to even fathom anything even remotely as bad ever hitting America and then we now lived through 9/11 and this doesn't seem so far-fetched anymore.

  • germ warfare lol

  • Oh the days, they are numbered...RIP.

  • long live chuck! 4 5 08

  • rodger that!

  • This is the original I am Legend.

    This movie is EPIC!!!!

Everything else falls second to this.

Besides Will msith is a scientologist, I cant support that.....

  • Ya !!

    OmegaMan is far better!!!

Everyone who says that i am legend is awesome i tell them to see this, its waaaaaaaaaaaay better.

  • He's not a Scientologist!

  • i thought i heard will smith gave dienetics (the book) as a gift to everyone on the set of i am legend after they were done filming....hmmm, whatever, no bigdeal....
