Indeed! He owed Roger Corman a couple of days work from "The Raven" or "The Terror" but after reading the script for "Targets" I believe he put in extra days. Karloff more or less plays himself as an aging horror star who decides to retire just as a crazed sniper goes on a rampage. His performance is great and the film is truly chilling at times, available on DVD from Paramount. Must see!
WOW! That sounds awesome i'll have to look into that DeFiNiTely! It must of been good to put those other films on hold! The Terror was pretty good, haven't seen the Raven since i was about four LOL!
The plot of The Terror holds up fairly well considering it was such a patchwork production. Corman's The Raven holds up nicely for me, great fun and a cast lineup we'll never see again.
That trailer rocked! Great action and a song number. Dig those 60's fashions. Boris Karloff doing mind control experiments? What could go wrong? Neato, like to see that film. Thanks for posting! :)
Thanks JC! Yes, this is the Director behind 'Witchfinder General' and his first film 'She Beast' starting Barbara Steele and my Honey i know now might have a crush on Ian Ogilvy LOL! *honestly* wHat could go wrong? LOL! It's pretty good for its time and the projection FX's predate even 'Clockwork Orange' this is from 67' i think :-)just after 'Ipress File' but the idea behind it more menacing and evil!
Well Ian is a handsome bloke, hee hee! Yeah I thought that was THE Micheal Reeves, so that was him. Sad his career was so short but I guess his depression was very severe. Yes it looks like the experiement might have gone a tad awry. And Harry Palmer is nowhere in sight! We're in trouble, paging the cast of Z-Cars! ;) Thanks, try to catch this too.
I saw a documentary on him it's such a shame they said he could of been the UK Steven Speilberg..its true he was so talented, he made these quick and so young and talented its people like him i admire to the likes of Rami and co,Peter jackson, Cronenberg JC etc.. In the spirit of doing films with little or no money originality in tact and not just trying make money but try to tell a good story. Harry 'bloody' palmer! LOL!
I remember this movie from when I was a kid! Haven't seen it in years.

If you haven't seen check out "Targets" from 1968. Good film and almost certainly Boris Karloff's last great role.
