@randumpotato By the way Dumbledore was talking, he was asking to be killed. But the spell's color from coming out of Snape's wand was blue, meaning he was hurt by doing it.
@randumpotato -.- How am I stalking you if I find that the video you posted a comment on was intresting? Also, It sounded like you didn't know that Snape DIDN'T want to kill Dumbledore. -.-
that little crack in his voice when he says avada kadavra. maybe a millisecond of emotion, of sorrow. But man does it pack a punch. gets me every time
@zanessa4320 Yes it looks blue but it IS GREEN!! Its just looks blue because of the lighting! Every color changes according to the light! Its green in the book and its green here! If you pause and look at the curse you can see that it IS green! I think you are color blind.
To all the people saying that Snape's curse is green, you people are color blind. That was clearly a type of blue. If you prople still say its green, gio outside, look at some grass. And you will clearly see that that color is green. So therefore, Snape's curse was a type of blue. Case Closed.
i love how the story of severus snape develops from just a mean evil teacher in the first book/movie to "the bravest man harry potter has ever known" in the last :')
@TheKitykool The color could have been because of light and shadow circumstances. But if what he`s saying is true, then why wasnt Voldemorts cilling curse red when he killed out of anger and not pleasure?
Could someone fucking explain me how could Dumbledor, the greatest wizard alive, who faced Voldemort in the Ministry and survived, casted an overpowered fire storm then calmed it down, got disarmed by a 16-17 year boy? Dafuq?
@reichstag10 It was planned, Dumbledore knew Draco wouldn't kill him anyway so he asked Snape to do it. Snape was a spy for him against Voldemort, Snape had changed sides because of his love for Lily Potter. Dumbledore know Voldemort would trust Snape after killing him, he didn't want Draco to kill him as it would hurt his soul. The killing curse harms the caster if it's murder. He didn't really wanna fight back anyway because he was dying.
I don't understand why they didn't show that Dumbledore put a spell on Harry to stay still and quiet so he won't attac the Death Eaters. That's why Draco was able to disarm A.D. If not the fact that he wasted few seconds to protect Harry, Draco would never be able to do it. That just ruins the whole scene. It was obvious that Harry, if he could move, would do something immediately. I love Harry Potter books, but, in my opinion (of course), the movies are... disappointing.
I actually laughed pretty loudly when seeing this for the first time - I was the only one making a sound in the entire theater, and some girl right behind me told me (commanded me) to shut up. I still find this funny, today.
FUN FACT: Notice how Snape's "Killing Curse" is the color Blue. When you look at Voldemort's, it is the color Green. Yes, these colors actually do have meaning behind them.. Green is represented as pleasure when killing someone, while Blue represents sadness.. So not only when you watch this back will you notice that Dumbledore was actually asking to be killed.. but obviously Snape was hurt by doing it. (Also, the color red represents killing someone and having anger while doing it I believe).
@klyspeez It's a view point that many "Potterheads" have noticed in the movies. JK Rowling doesn't write what color each curse is during her books, but the visual part of the movie aloud her to add more creativity to it.
`Snape raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore.
"Avada Kedavra"
A jet of green light shot from the of Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore squarely in the chest.'
The Killing Curse is always green! Also, a red Curse isn't `killing someone and having anger while doing it', it is the Disarming Charm (Expelliarmus). Get you facts straight before you try to act learned. GOSH, READ A BOOK!
@Daniel99810 Read all of the books multiple times. I'm just pointing out something that a lot of "Potterheads" believe that J.K. Rowling wanted to incorporate in the movies.
@Medimento Sorry for acting kind of mean, but you shouldn't have said 'FUN FACT' If a lot of 'Potterheads' BELIEVE J.K. Rowling wanted to incorperate in the movies I don't think it should be called a fact... Since J.K. Rowling says that each Killing Curse is green, she would have made it blue in the book if this was what she truly wanted. Maybe it looks blue in this scene because of the lighting. Voldemort's Killing Curse looked a bit blue when he and Dumbledore dueled in Order of the Phoenix.
@Daniel99810 You know, you are right. I shouldn't have called it a fact, because it's not. People have every right to believe what they want about the curse.
@Medimento Yes, people do have every right to believe what they want to believe about this Curse. But, if you look closely in this scene, as in you pause it when the Curse is in view, you can see it is actually green... :)
@Medimento snapes curse wasn't blue. It was green and there is no relation between the colour and having anger while doing it. In the books, when you really mean the spell the spell works better not have a different colour. read the books
snape has to be the bravest man in this entire series, he lost his true love, he had to spy on voldemort and pretend to be evil while protecting harry , he had to kill the only man he trusted which was voldemort, and in the end he still ended up dying
Before Snape kills Dumbledore, Dumbledore is always standing 1-2 meter in front of the precipice AND there is actually a scaffold behind him which should prevent from falling down, but when the spell hits Dumbledore, he fells down, as if there is NOTHING???
That Avada Kedavra shit killed all of the movies. It is hilarious how even the most untrained pupils can kill the greatest wizards just by using that spell.
@lightsidemaster no you can't, you have to actually want to kill them. It's the same for all the unforgivable curses. When Harry first tries to use them he can't do them because he isn't sadistic enough. Also Snape is a really powerful wizard all the Hogwarts staff are.
@dtrez09 yeah right but... Harry hasn't done anything. It doesn't even look like as if he learned a bit while his years on Hogwarts. Btw I still haven't watched the last movies. I wanted to watch them at a cinema but things didn't went wrong lol
when snape said avada kedavra, his voice broke a little bit. so you can see, he didn't want to do this, dumbledore was the only person, who he respected. i miss them both ;(

I love when Snape ask Harry to be quiet, ah this hand mov! But I have to admit that his shocked face when Harry accuses him of having killed Dumbledore in the Great Hall has little sense. He knew that Harry saw him killing Dumbledore! But it's ok. It's moving seeing Snape's face after he kills Dumbledore. I come to think that Dumbledore turned out like a sort of father to him. He protected Snape from the moment he asked him for help. And in the books you see that Dumbledore become fond on Snape.
@tommygun641 because as explained in harry potter and the deathly hallows, dumbledore was supposed to die, and he told severus to kill him to gain voldemorts trust and be a double agent type thing, and tell harry at the right moment WARNINGS: SPOILERS that Voldemort has to kill harry because he's a horcrux which will help kill voldemort.
@timmay301 What the hell are you saying!? This movie is excellent! Only real dissapointment was that they didnt include the funeral. But maybe thats good, cuz i woulndt be able to stop crying. And one other little thing, when i read about zombies, i expect zombies in the movie. Not a army of Gollums. Other than that the movie is excellent!
Tom Felton is one of the ( if not THE) greatest actors in the whole harry potter series, I really also think people don't realize how good Daniel Radcliffe is.
watched this movie for the first time lastnight and bawled my eyes out. both at the part where Dumbledore has to drink from that bowl and this scene i cried so much. and he loves Harry so much, he lost his life protecting Harry and trying to help him. and just ugh.. i cant stop crying its so sad </3
INCREDIBLE SCENE! Damn, but also sad as hell. I keep watching it all over again because of the great atmosphere, great music and great acting. Harry Potter rules.
This scene is so sad all around. Poor Draco is so terrified, he knows he'll be killed if he doesn't it. Then Snape steps up not only to fulfill his promise to Dumbledore, but to save Draco from having to do the dead himself. You can literally heard the pain the Snape's voice when he utters the spell. It's so heartbreaking.
@AsianBlazenTV oh and btw i havent seen deathly hallows before and im now watching it so next time you wanan call me a dumb ass make sure ive seen the movie first

If the curse dumbledore carried from the ring was being kept in his hand through magic. Why couldent they just cut off his hand?
tommygun641 2 months ago
@tommygun641 I guess dumbledore didnt want to live that way
saimcheeda93 2 months ago

Dumbledore easily could have creamed everyone on the tower using magic with his hands if he wanted to. But he had to let himself die.
