  • I this the first "Rif" is the song, "The Third Man Theme". From the movie with Orsen Wells, produced in 1947, and about post-war Vienna, Austria.

  • what's the name of solo guitar of peter white?

    help me

  • @DanieleSteelAprea Ovation guitar.

  • Pure Awesomeness. Makes me want to pull up my Anchor and set sail.

  • a sing that will last a thousand years.

  • Sheer genius... all these years later and still fresh.

  • WOW!

  • What an outstanding sound he pulls from that guitar...phenomenal

  • In the late 70s, Al Stewart was such a breath of fresh air. His music still resonates with sophistication and excitement.

  • Stewart is the seasoned showman, so relaxed, while White, guitarist extraordinaire, is palpably tense. Both are incredible talents, both changed my life indelibly.

  • mamma mia, tra white e nachmanoff non so chi mi fa vibrare di più, una cosa da brivido. grande Al che li porta sul palco a interpretare le sue indimenticabili canzoni.

  • An amazing video! really shows Peter White's amazing guitar work long before he did smooth jazz on his own. And I loved Al Stewart's work from the beginning when it hit the USA back in the 70s.

  • Such a great post.....thank you!

    Simply Brilliant!

  • trop topppppppp

  • I would have loved to be in the crowd but I would have only been 3 so probably wouldnt have appreciated it I was in to other stuff back then.

  • all al stewart music is sunny sunday morning music, thanks for the memories al

  • @jayellucaz Great definiton of Al's music!

  • They sound even better by this point than their mid to late 70's performances of this tune. White got some credits on some of the songs for co-wring. He strikes me as being not only impressive instrumentalist-wise, but he also was a good team player, like playing just key boards in certain ensembles.

  • Does anyone know where this was recorded, and the name of thr orchestra?

  • being a Belgian,I recognize the flags ...

Probably one of the concerts called "night of the proms" in Antwerp.

I think the orchestra is "il novecento"

  • in 2000 I got hooked on Peter White but I have heard that guitar before. Thanks to your video I now know that I first heard him in 80s playing with Al Stewart. Bueno funk is a great tune by Peter.

  • al stewart maravilhoso!!!

  • ottimo Al

  • a classic- I wish you could buy the whole concert

    thanks for posting!

  • Perfectttttttttttttttttttt.

  • Love the Spanish guitar!

  • Bloody brilliant !!!!!

  • this is a great song

  • A much finer, clearer audio than the 1977 recoding (previous). I particularly enjoyed the acoustic guitar playing. Nice live ambience, too. Very pleasing. Thank you for sharing this. :)

    Vicki

  • A little "Third Man" as a bonus. Excellent.

  • There's a great interview with Al at al stewart DOT com

You'll enjoy it! No body does a conversation like Bob Kincaid.

  • its just his best song

    love it

  • Love this song!!!

  • Prolific player (many times credited as Peter Woods), he was born in Middlesex, England. After Quiver, he was a member of Natural Gas and Rivits In 1980, he joined (along with John 'Willie' Wilson, Andy Bown and Snowy White) to Pink Floyd for the tour promoting The Wall. Around 1984, he joined Lou Reed band. Sadly, Peter Wood died in December 1993. He'll be always remembered as the man who co-wrote 'Year of the cat' with Al Stewart

  • Arash...I hope you're not confusing people with this Peter Woods/Peter White mixup. Peter White is alive and well, and playing guitar as brilliantly as ever. I never miss a show of his on Long Island (my neck of the woods)..only wish he played here more often.

  • al is still great.!

  • Very nice indeed.

  • What a scintillating performance!! One of my absolute favourite Al songs. Is it on DVD anywhere?!?

  • awesome

  • Purely brilliant! Simple as that..what incredible talent..wow!!! For the most part, this collage of talent doesn't exist in todays' vast entertainment industry. Just look at the emotional content within this video. It truly illustrates what "feeling the music" stands for.

  • I remember this show- it was one of the few we ever did with an orchestra. Somewhere in Belgium with a very rowdy crowd. It was called "Night at the Proms" or something like that. We did about 5 songs with the orchestra- a night to remember indeed! Peter White.

  • Peter White! Wow! What are you doing now? I saw Al about a year ago here in Chicago with Laurence Juber. It was a great show.

  • you can't imagine the feelings we have just hearing and seeing you again... rock on! jandj

  • Peter White is a huge star and brilliant Smooth Jazz Guitarist from England, living in California ..with at least 10 incredible CD's to his credit..won awards for Best Smooth Jazz Guitarist..accompanied Dave Koz just recently on his At the Movies CD..guests on so many other artists CD's, tours with Guitars & Saxes, Smooth Jazz Cruises..is the best there is.

  • I wanted to say something about Peter White but you've summed it up quite well here. He's simply amazing! One of the best guitarists alive today. He's also very nice in person. Met him after a concert and he was kind and accommodating.
