Gotta love the dramatic music, i kept expecting some deep voice to come in and begin with, "In the distant future, a world in crisis..." The whole soundtrack sounds like it's been ripped from a movie trailer. Beautiful and very futuristic development though!
Nothing of a surprise that China cities can build so many fascinating sky scrappers. However, that doesn't mean China has a successful economic model for developing countries.
My girlfriend is from Chongqing, she was paid just RMB1000 a month working in a real-estate firm. Many of her friends are drawing this kind of low pay, do you really think it means anything to build so many skyscrappers but the people's general income are still so little?
That depends on what kind of position she is in, and keep in mind, this isn't America or Europe, this is China, and in China, you can get through a month with 1000 RMB in most cases, and they don't have sales tax of any kind.
Why can't you stand people in developing countries to develop and grow? Keep on telling lies, China will continue working, and developing more than ever.
All the comments just prove one thing, Americans are beginning to feel a little bit nervous by the obvious fact of being replaced as the world superpower. Even if they have almost destroyed the world with this worldwide economic depression, and almost all the countries are on recession, China still grows 6% plus. China is supposed to be dependant on exports (according to western propaganda), but even with exports plummeting it is growing 6% while the US economy sanks 6%
i dont know why americans are so worried about china taking over the states. america is a rich country, the city like new york, chicago, los angelos are growing with new modern skyscrapers as well. i dont see how china will takeover the states just because of the skyscrapers. i dont see much skyscrapers in tokyo and yet its the richest city in the world.
wouldnt it be so much kooler if they put a even taller skyscraper instead of that tent in the middle of the skyscrapers? and put bridges connecting those skyscrapers together?
Do not build such town concentrations! You make it too easy for the US-killers. Look into the history how they loved to destroy complete towns. Check all the German towns and Hiroshima + Nakasaki.

no jealousy needed! before shooting up those skylines, please have a look the rivers under ur feet, which turns into green color already! and please have a look the sky over ur head, which turns into black color already! and have a look ur income, which less earned than thailand or india! so...except those skylines, what else do u have left?
liuguoyu, china's avg income is double that of India. And without china's economic boom, you HKers are now giving white guys blow jobs under restaurant tables in Bangkok now. And you guys probably luv it! Haha... BTW, I'm shanghainese. SHnese kick HKnese arse in any given day.
dont be rediculous. im not hknese but the most important chinese cities are Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei, and Beijing. there is no need to rank them, because they are all different. i agree with some people that some cities in china are over developed. a city needs to grow naturaly, or best if it grows naturaly. but it doesnt hurt to buld skyscraper anyways, as long as the chinese government consider the pollutions.
Actually, china's average income is now almost triple that of India's average income.3000+ USD GDP per capita, only took Taiwan 10 years to go from 3000-10000USD per capita, won't take mainland china much longer either
when the chinese offical caculate the GDP per capital, they do not include the chinese rural migrants who reside in the city on visa so the GDP per head may be high!for example, chongqing population 30 million, 25 million maybe the rural migrants who earn like1200 USD a year, the 5 million city dewellers migh earn 3000 USD a year,so the GDP per head of Chongqing reported by chinese goverment is 3000 USD/year!becasue they dont consider those 25 million chinese farmers as part of the city!
so,this applies all over china, the wage level that chinese famers given in the city is not considered by the chinese goverment whilst the rural population accounts for 80% of Chinese total population!so, is vey clear that the current chinese GDP per capital is much overrated!if we consider the chinese rural migrants wage in this caculation, the corrent chinese GDP per capital can be as low as 800-900 USD a year, not 2000 USD!in that case,India is 2 times higher than china!
furthermore, dont forget,India or Taiwan are high-tech based Economy, where China however the economy in past 30 years also next 30 years is largly based on cheap labor and basic assembly factory, envroiment destruction in exchage of GDP growth!ironically, what really drives china economy growth is the Foreign company not chinese themsvles!simple example, shinning skyscrapers across shanghai pudong area are mostly the property of Western and Japanese companies, the chinese just offered the land!
India has a high-tech based economy? Are you making shit up to bash China or are you being ignorant on purpose? India may experience dramatic growth in it's BPO and IT sectors but that doesn't mean it's economy is high tech based, no emerging market can achieve the status of that of a high-tech based economy, never. China is also busy lifting it's status from the "world's factory" to that of a high-tech and innovative country and domestic consumption is what drives GDP growth mostly not FDI.
so same as here in chongqing,no matter how many skylines u can build, they just belong to the chinese goverment and their western businese parthers!the chinese workers hired to construct those skylines get paid like 50 USD a month, or sometimes even NOT get paid a cent but get beaten to death by their boss just becasue they want their wage back!so, does anyone here still want to see more skyscrapers in china?
These buildings later will require peoples for jobs....don't you want people to be able to get jobs?
Btw, you have to know China have 1.3 billion people and it's really hard to be able to feed them without fast modernizations to creating more jobs. If what you say is true then China should stop all it's constructions and let people migrate to western countries.
Poor country? yes let them all migrate and out of that junk place!!
you tend look at the negative of things. i don't think Shanghai, Beijing or other parts are poor as you say but the western part is poor indeed. Also , regarding your comments on economy pioneered by foreigners then you're wrong, without hardworking Chinese i don't think they will get that far.
beijing and shanghai are not as rich as you think.Besides, considering china with 1.3 billion people and almost equal size land of USA,800 million out of this are needy farmers. a few "modern"cities like beijing or shanghai are nothing but showcase only.80% of china is very poor not just western part only.
And that's where you get all the food to feed the people, farmers in China are mostly happy and satisfied with their lives, and a lot of them are rich now, and can afford to own houses. If everyone were living in the cities, who's going to feed the 1.3 billion people in China??!! So keep your ignorant comments to yourself, and by the way, China has way more than "a few" modern cities, so get your facts straight.
In China it seems to be cheap to just built a City like this! It is possible. The most buildings are appartments. But what is the sence of a high density village far away from the city center? Wouldn't more green be nicer?
why are u in shanghai, chongqing related videos if you say the same things all the time at every china related city. yes we know hk is good also...but pls give maminalnd cities a break
