  • My gran used to sing this to me and Sisters when we were kids. This is one of the greatest female voices I heard.

  • @MyGooner100 I know my parents were always singing this lol lol they too thought Gracie was the greatest too.

  • @cclarking1 Thanks Thousands agree with you on that!!!

  • Who did a rock version of this in the 1960's?

  • @lewisner Gerry Monroe, fabulous singer!

  • Its fantastic how popular this 1956 recording is, proving Gracie recorded for 52 years from 1923-75. The new Gracie CD The Real Gracie 1928-60 has lots of gems on for Gracie fans everywhere!

  • "I should have known 'I'm looking out the window' was a little too-much to ask for. But it was just a big a hit as this one Finally it took Cliff Richards to reinvigorate it again!"

  • class

  • Memories wonderful

  • absolutely fabulous

  • I'd love to play this as I walk down the aisle at my wedding! Does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy to buy or borrow? It must be an old 78rpm as I'm using a wind-up gramophone.

  • @sallyinlancs ebay?

  • Yes I think your right its a delight produced by Norman Newell who produced and wrote songs for Bassey and Squires brill.

  • Gracie is quoted as saying that this particular verson is her favourite recording of her theme song 'Sally.'

Perhaps this is due to the wonderful Chorus of singers on the recording, or perhaps because it was the first recording where she got to change the words!
