im gonna miss mercury alot i have a fender from a mercury sable wagon that got wrecked so we sold it it was my first car i ever rode in :(:(:(:( i cant believe its gone
It is sad because Mercury was founded by Edsel Ford the only child of Henry Ford the founder who died before the Henry the father. Edsel died young at age 53. But he did father 4 children and the resulting heirs. He was impressive in his own right but over shadowed by Henry the founder. The Mercury division in its 1st 25 years was more distinctive than in the last 40 years. When the Cougar was introduced in '67 was the last time there was any real excitement in that division
Even though this was a great car, it was just a copy of Ford. It heads in the same direction as other recent Domestics such as Geo, Eagle, Plymouth, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn
well, at least you folks are lucky for having Mercury. It's too bad that Mercury left Canada 10 years ago. However, the Grand Marquis remained in my country until 2007.
@xxdavidxx893 don't worry I will :) I'm not planning on straying away from Ford vehicles either when the time comes to replace my Milan, it'll most likely be replaced with a Fiesta hatch or a next gen Focus sedan depending on what I can afford (gotta have a DSG like mom's Jetta Wolfsburg!)
Awesome tribute to the Mercury!!! Sad to see it fade away, but like the GM divisions, time has left it behind.... The Marquis was about the only thing Ford had at Mercury that really was a good seller, and most of those were going to daily rentals, and older buyers... Still tho, the Marquis is a tough car.... My mom has one with 100k on it, and drives like a new one...
wow i had no idea they announced mercury was closing!! any news on when?? i have an 09 milan just like ur 06 and i love it... as long as they still make the fusion i guess
I Love You Mercury Marauder!!!
