Don't be fooled by this female bassist, you don't get to play with Beck or Vinnie unless you are shit hot. To be taken seriously as a female bassist in the music bizz is tough, only pure talent got her there, Just enjoy the fantastic music and you have to appreciate, this is not just plain old rock music, there are lots of stuff going on in there that most players could only dream of doing.

I love this girl, She's always so happy playing, and has good reason she alongside Jeff Beck but she has obviously worked hard to get this far at such a young age don't under estimate this girl! Love watching her expressions as she plays, Hats off to Tal!

I'm on the fence. Yea she is good, but the doors have been open to her for the simple fact that she is a young female. There is no doubt in my mind that there are far superior musicians out there then Tal that will not get the spotlight simply because they don't have tits. Is that her fault? no way in hell but for Beck to exploit it is awful. It's obvious he does as you watch the videos of this concert and he makes light of "obvious" talents. Does he make as big of deal of the Keys or drummer?

It's a fallacy to think a female can't play an instrument to the degree as a male, & when one does it amazes me when a big deal is made of it, as if it's a freakish talent, one warranting special attention. Explain the exuberant number of female guitar videos with grossly exaggerated view counts. As I stated, it's no fault of hers

Sure and I never stated she wasn't, but since you bring it up, her playing doesn't justify her fame. Her forte is simple funk and groove. The solo she takes as Beck gestures to her "greatness" is mediocre at best. @fanzappa Finally, yes the number of views of videos featuring attractive girls playing an instrument has everything to do with it. It shows how female musicians are sensationalized, a concept that has been in music for a very long time. Sensationalizing that is. If you can not grasp that idea then I suggest you have missed my point. This was never a knock on Tal's talent rather a commentary on the exploitation of women in music. Beck is pandering and I have no qualms calling him out about it.

@JackOrion0670 Man, in the dvd, explains why they call her to make this show.......Jeff Beck and Vinnie Colaiuta were in the studio then they listen someone playing bass....but it was so good the sound, that when they got in the studio they ask, they see "Tal" with the bass and ask who was playing so good......when they discover it was her, they instantly ask her perfom with them

Let me say though good for her, in no way am I insinuating she is a charlatan, just that access to music as a profession has come easier to her than many who justly deserve the same fame but may never see it. Get the DVD, well worth $12 ( or less) on amazon, 8 channel DTS surround, a REALLY good sound mix, a small club with great acoustics & the video is top quality, it really captures all the detail of their outstanding playing.

Jeff is a monster but this band is the best he's ever had IMHO, they groove so well Jeff can lay back and do his really tasty stuff like icing on a cake, It doesn't get any better than this.
