how many over exposed, under exposed and normal pictures does it take to get the best hdr result when you combine them?and at what exposure should i set each picture.the way i do it now is i edit the picture and make 3 copies and set one to -1 exposure.one to +1 exposere and one i leave normal.should i use more pictures or set them to higher or lower exposures?if anyone could help me with this i would trully appreciate it.
hmm, when I follow your directions on converting a RAW to .hdr it turned out lets say, not so good. It is all pink-ish and all the clouds in the sky went away :(
Are you looking at the HDR version of the file? HDR files do not display properly on your monitor because they are 32-bit files. This is why they must be tonemapped into a lower dynamic range version by using tools like Photomatix.
Yes, but i might have figured it out, my raw files is 48bit(!?) and when i converted to .hdr in photomatix pro 3.0 it went to 96bit. Must i get lower bit RAW original photos?
I also am having the pinkish problem and files at 96bit once converted in Photomatix 3. Can someone tell me what I need to do to solve this problem? Thank you!
A quick thanks for your various tutorials which have helped with my HDR techniques alot. In particular I appreciate your explanations as you go along. I have followed step by step, pausing and switching to my own images and working with you - to great effect and appreciation. Thanks for sharing your expertise so generously.

I opened on a Pc a single raw in PS and converted it first to 32 bit. From then you can process it with Photomatix.
