  • ok yeah a stock 289 with a lot of miles and 45 years of not being tuned up isn't gonna be the fastest but i got my 67 stang back from a speed shop its going to be pushing 300hp and it will smoke your gay little opel just sayin...

  • i'd say that's pretty damn good. i'd do so many bad, illegal, and humiliating things to have this car....

  • My Opel Commodore GSE can do it even faster :)

  • @Haffschlappe Yeah, sadly your "opel" commodore isn't a 1967 piece of fucking motoring history.

  • it took 23 seocnds 0 - 70 mph (110 kph)

  • @HamadHHAG But to be fair they weren't even using the secondary until 0:07 and judging by the shift at 41mph were only using ~half throttle when doing so.

  • @GreenRiver72 yeah right

  • @HamadHHAG beg pardon?

  • bad quality, what a pity

  • haha wow, thats not speeding lol

  • how many times did you have to repair, say, the carburetor. I just don't know the service costs of something like this.

  • @AnonymoussourceL0L Carbs are becoming more and more troublesome. Holley only makes a few one-size fits all carbs these days. Often times you need to build a modified carb with the stock accelerator pump (usually the trickiest part to get adjusted properly) and essentially new everything else. Safe bet for compatibility is getting a whole new intake along with the carb (both from Holley or whoever so they match). I have a 351W and spent 2-3,000 until I finally got the right rebuild.

  • The bottom end of a stock 289 can handle 7317 RPMs. This is because of the extremely short stroke of the 289 (2.87 inches). However the stock valve train could only handle about 4500 rpm (5000 if you were lucky). The K-code 289 could handle 6000 rpm. With modern day heads twisted wedge, etc. you can easily run a stock 289 up to 7000 rpms all day long. I've seen built 289's with 10,500 rpm shift points.

  • MEGA ZOOM IN!!!!!

  • Wow, i didn't know that you could place an Odometer in place of the Clock =D

  • @darkmetallink1 tachometer?

  • What's the Max RPMS these things can run stock? 5,000?

  • not sure, but i would say no more than 5500 to 6000 unless its built well

  • Does this still have the factory 2bbl? seems like it.

  • @fighterace34 4500-5000 at most on a stock engine but if its a hi po about 6000rpm

  • @Hotrodx199 my 67 does 4800 with a mostly stock 289

  • Stock 289?

  • yeah. wasnt original though. was a 289 for sure. sadly i dont have it anymore QQ

  • @fighterace34 why ?

  • @fighterace34 Don't have it? What happened?

  • Should have kept it, lol.

  • Toooo slow i think... But i love the car!

  • its only a 289. no mods at all.

  • Is it an A or C-Code engine?

  • c code

  • Ok, the same what I have ;o)

  • Thats what I have too not bad for a 289

  • My Pony will be ready for the road in 3 weeks :)

  • Mine will be back in about 1-2. Its in the body shop to get the hood painted.

  • 289?

  • yes 289 with c4 and a mild shift kit.
