  • 1' 14" e 4 . Con handicap .

  • Marko Pilic born in in Korcula, Dalmatia, Hrvatska

    pravi dalmatinac

  • well my cousin is called marco

  • @TheDslide you must be American, judging by the mentally-retarded contribution

  • @mexiviajero hahhahaha i like that one ---

  • @mexiviajero sir, with no due respect..a Mexican never reserves the right to criticize (or assess) the intelligence of Americans. Your country is a toilet, that has never elevated itself above 3rd World status. You have never produced a Thomas Edison, Wright brothers, or any innovator of note. You have never won a war, and can barely keep your police forces from killing all your citizens. Your low opinion of Americans, is really a manifestation of envy & player-hating of America..its true. peace

  • ian somerhalder loveeee

    I'm not kidding .

  • i bet he banged a lot of asian chicks

  • Great music and series...

  • Marco Polo je bio državljanin Republike Venezie.A šta je bio po nacionalnosti?Tko to zna.

  • what is it all about L?

  • Even though he were born in Curzola, Dalmatia is not Croatia geograpichally and historically. Croatia was beyond the Dinaric and Julian Alps which is the natural boundary of Istria and Dalmatia. In Istria there still remain some of the autoctone inhabitants of Italian mother tongue. Most of them were exiled after the WWII. Slavs came over to Dalmatia after the IX century, when Dalmatians had already been latinized. Eufemia Budicin

  • Marco Polo wasn´t Croatian. He was Venetian from Venetian merchants family. There is only theory that he was born in Korcula (today Crotia) when his family temporarily lived there, but even if so, he would be still Venetian rather then Croatian because his parents were Venetians not Croatians.

My daughter was born in England but she is still Czech because I and my wife are Czechs. So please don´t manipulate with history for nationalist reasons.

  • croati ladri di terra

  • @TheMarkBart So take it back you wusses! AFAIK it was fascist who went around trying to steal land, not the other way around.

  • top 5 tv scores of all time...

  • uncharted 2 has marco polo

  • He was born in Venice

If you know italian (old italian) :Chapter one from the "MILIONE":

    Cap. 1

He's son of Venice. Istria and Dalmatia were venetian and not croatian and people living there were venetians. Maybe now some forgotten genius is writing a book revealing that Dante Alighieri and Leonardo Da Vinci were mongolian?

  • right, he is italien but born in Crotia, because that time Crotia belongs to Roman.

  • @vegifish Are you stuzpid or something??? He was croatian not italian. Stop stealing croatian hystory bloody latin frogeaters!!!

  • @BBBdomagojX let's say he was born in the venetian republic

  • @Mickey937 and what do you know about this area Mr.Shalom?

  • i listen this theme many year ago,aprox.1983 in the marco Polo serial but was of ken Marshall Marco Polo......sound good and interesting....thk for posting!!

  • ijihuh

  • beautiful music, great movie!

  • It doesn't matter where he was from, but where he was going and discovering new cultures and human beings.

The world we live in today has become so small and dull from the sheer lack of true exploration, we can go on the net to watch a live webcam from Sidney australia or any other place on earth.

But at the time of Marco Polo you could go 500 miles in one direction and find new things..

  • This is the music from the 1980's great tv series. But the images are not from the same tv series.

Im trying to find that 1980's series but cant find it :(

  • I´ve got it, but in czech.

  • @tonton6969 I did find it! it's here torrentreactor search for marco polo 1982

  • Marco Polo was Venetian. Polo is a venetian name, which comes 1) from the quarter in which the Palazzo Polo stood (maybe you've herad of the San Polo/St. Paul's Church) or 2) from the word "pollo", hen/chicken. The coat of arms of the Polos has three chickens in it. As venetian, they were merchants and had some Warehouses around in the mediterrean. Also in Dalmatia, from the 10th to the 18th century a venetian colony. He could be born in Dalmatia, but he still remains a venetian man...

  • I love the music.

  • One of the best music of Morricone! Maybe even better than the Once upon the Wild West!

I was a little girl when I saw the TV series, and could not wait for the next episode. Marco Polo (Ken Marshall) was my ideal man:))))Brave, bright, curious and handsome! :)))

  • Historically speaking, no serious source claims that Polo was born in Yugoslavia. There is something about that recently written in 6 languages by a tourism agency of Croatia. But it s not serious. Read The Travels of Marco Polo, the Venetian by Henry G. Bohn, George Bruner Parks, et al.

  • First of all, the most ancient sources about Polo are italians, second he was from Venetia. Polo lived for a short period of his life in Jugoslavia, as a prisoner. So, dear friends of Jugoslavia, stop inventing a new history.

  • stop fu*king saying y*go you f*cking noob. people died to have it called hrvatska.

i come from kortular, and have been to the city where it's marco polo everything, eatery, hotel, spent 20euro to see his house. i think it speaks volumes.

he was a hrvati by blood, italiano by citizenship.

  • @westaux999 dude...the whole dalmatia was venetians. So it's logically the other way around: many people living in dalmatia were venetians that moved there for trades and to live in the fair territories of the republic. The statement that "all the venetians living there were hrvati" or whatever else, is simply not logic.

But venetians being there is part of your history, it's a fact, therefore you are partly venetians and you can be proud of that and of marco polo as much as we are =)

  • With regard to Italian professional literature, the most frequent opinion is that the Polo family comes from Dalmatia Croatia.

  • Where Venetian got their wood from to built Venetia and better take a close look why they still speak Italian in Croatia.

  • @Allyredstar they get alot of wood from Ilirska Bistrica in Slovenia.

  • @jkmetj As they keep on changing borders and names in the Balkan lets skip the subject on which wood or hill the wood came from ;-), but part of Slovenia was Italian till about 1963 or 1964 anyway

  • @Allyredstar i know that i live in Ilirska Bistrica and itallian name was Villa del nevoso if im correct.

  • @Allyredstar In Croazia before the second world war they lived many Italians... the cities of the coast have the same architecture of the Italian cities, however Marco Polo as it also says the name it was Italian to 100%

  • ahahaha

  • I am sorry, but several sources I've read palce him born in venice, as well as his family of Merchants...if you ahve a soource claiming the oher nationality, please share it, before calling people stupid...or using defamatory language here

  • marko polo last name is distinct only to the area of croatia not italy at the time. it is well known he was born in dalmatia croatia in korcula he then travelled to venice and so on......

  • @Elemer7 you are right , he was from Venice

  • @Elemer7 The Italian cities have a whole road that calls Marco Polo, also so many Italian ships bring this name... at all they put us a name of a foreigner

  • You Dumbass, read a history book. The polo family had indeed come from Dalmatia but moved to Venice 300 years before Marco's birth.Hence, making them venetian. It's like saying that most americans are foreign. 300 is long enough to become a different background.

  • increible hombre

  • Polo did not die in prison . He died at the age of 70 at his house with his wife at his side . He was in prison for a year , the time it took to write his book of travels .

Ridateci Ken Marchall

  • Marco Polo is a Croat of Italian descendets he was born in Korčula, the greatest explorer of his time

  • a very intense video with images that take us back to the thirteenth century. Marco Polo, the Venetian, opened the road to the East: two centuries after Columbus proved the sphericity of the earth, sailing towards the west! Both explorers, died in prison! I am very disappointed having to admit that once rather than support these companies tended to obstruct the humanity could be much later: a pity!

Thank you, friend, for your video!

  • Ja - mal wieder ein tolles Werk vom Meister Morricone.

  • Super muza i serial!!!!

  • Musica superlativamente intensa e struggente

  • I am curious... your comment is a combination of languages. What is your native language? What language did you grow up speaking?

    ---

  • Quelle musique fantastique! Tant de souvenirs des annees 80... C'est presques essouflant!

  • nice music great film

  • Marco Polo & Russell Brand look suspiciously like one another.... separated at birth? Has anyone actually seen them together, in the same room, at the same time?

  • im pissed cuz i just watched the dvd and i didnt see the end scene cuz the dvd was fucked up ..im pissed.!!!!!

damn it. damn it ! damn it !

and that fool got played twice in that movie he lost both girls..sadd..

  • Most beautiful soundtrack!

  • this is the beauty. i was 3 or 4 as this film was broadcasted in tv, and the music went back to me after nearly 30 years.

  • Maravilloso.

  • bandari?

  • I´m sorry but this looks as crap movie and music that you hear is originaly from Marco Polo mini TV series from 1982 not from this movie.

  • Hi Andrea,

Yes, Im from Argentina.I was born in Hurlingham, few blocks away from the train station. What a coincidence...I knew Luca, I was in Obras S. concert 20 yars ago (20 anni fa..) i was a kid jajajaa. And I recognize your voice a couple of years ago when you where in the train San Martin at Hurlingham Station, talking with the same voice(mix italian-porteno). I was seated close to you. what a coincidence...It's a small world sometimes. Now I live in Florida,USA.

  • Andrea prodan: Luca's brother?

  • Yes, Luca's brother? Are you from Argentina?

  • I was very little when this film has been broadcast in my country, may be two or three years old, but the flashbacks about this miniseries has endure since then in my memories, the customs, the landscapes, the music, the characters, the complete story, for a child so young was so fantastic that I felt in love of history in general.

Thanx for sharing your video lovemoonrise!!!

  • I barely remember the movie, but I so wanna see it again, I was but a young whipper snapper LOL back then :)

  • I saw this as a child, and the music haunted me for years!! Simply amazing! But the theme I remembered the most was the other one was the third one in the CD (which appears several times). Sublime

  • I was a little boy when this was showed in the 80s. I liked the series, but what really burned into my soul at that time was the music. Never forgot it...

  • I was a kid whan that series was on tv ... that trigger old memories ...

  • Quand'è ke lo rifanno in televisione??

  • Where did you get the music and clips from. I can't find it anywhere.

  • good collage!

  • thank you LonelyMoonRise

anch'io come vonklausewitz l'ascoltavo circa 26 anni fa

p.s. you should answer to gibiliz and tell him what film are your images from (the images you posted don't belong to the original tv-movie which Morricone composed his music for; the original movie was broadcasted by RAI-TV in 1982, directed by Giuliano Montaldo and starring Ken Marshall)

  • You are right. The music is from a tv serie from 1982. I watched it when I was a child and I liked it. I would like to watch it again. It is much more better than this new movie.

  • thank you LonelyMoonRise
