  • playing with four mallets is so hard. AWESOME!

  • @zakkwyldeverehrer Not if it's in the key of A minor, which it seems to be.

  • Luke, you got more views than Gary Burton!

  • Now do it with youre eys closed

  • the marching band im in has 14 people in pit sugg on dat :]

  • so beautiful! xylophone must be the instrument that makes the most beautiful sound. it's so relaxing, and i almost fall asleep...

  • @iris14ism to bad its a vibraphone

  • Why are the two people hugging at the end like it's their achievement?

  • amazing.

  • Beautiful!

  • This is incredible. I'm startin tuned percussion because it's a requirement to progress onto army musician. I, however have to pick xylophone seeing as I can get a beginner set for like 129 quid and vibraphone/marimba cost to much.. I'd love to play the marimba overall though. Hopefully I'll play this one day! Xylophone style.

  • I WILL LIKE THIS VIDEO AGAIN AND AGAIN IF I COULD... this is just the song I taught my guitar student for her recital last month because this is one of my favorite song from The Beatles. THIS IS SUPERB! I LOVE IT!

  • That's not a xylophone -.-.

  • um, can you come teach the pit at my school? lol :p

  • blackbird?.. i dont hear it

  • @Rohanthefirst untrained ear

  • omg the coolest piano solO!

  • @1AddictedPro Piano? seriously?

  • Amazing talent!!!

  • good ol' 142.....

  • my marching vibe looks exactly like that

  • Is the sheet music available at all yet? I would really, really, really like to learn this song...

  • And my friends thought it was impossible to play the xylophone with four mallets.

  • oh my god how in the world could anyone dislike this. wow you are truly amazing! I have my minor in music and man, I could listen to you all day. ROCK ON!

  • All I have to say is "Wow"! What advice would you give someone interested in learning how to play the vibraphone or marimba?

  • this is not a piano

  • @omkaar786 No, no, THIS IS SPARTA!

  • you're a very good pianist

  • @SocialitaWantsPie Pianist? Lolz

  • I WANT THIS. D: youre amazing btw.

  • wow! ur really good! Paul Mcartney would be very proud of u! made me cry the first time i heard ur version of it. its really beautiful!:)

  • is there anyway to get this arr from you?

  • Where might one buy this sheet music if it is available?

  • had u played since you were a kid?

  • De algún modo... me emocionó! Excelente Versión!

  • You can never have too many people in pit.

  • I know loaaads of people have probably asked this before...

But is there a way to get some sheet music for this?

    (:

    P.S. fab playing! Looove it

  • nice job!! very musical playing. you're using burton grip right?

  • I've got to say- this is just one of those videos that whenever you need a break, this video will always be there to cheer you up. great piece!

  • Hey man, it's realy GREAT version of "Blackbird". I like your ideas. Many nice chords, notes and rhythms. I would like you to get more deeper in the tone quality. For having a great tone on any instrument it is nessecary to have round movements- that afects the tone belive me. It is very important to move with your hands, to be flexible. play a single tone on vibes and do a round wave motion after you hit the bar - listen to result while doing that. It will be much rounder and more full.

  • This is a beautiful piece. Nice chord voicings. Keep challenging yourself!

  • very good interpretation!

  • O.O

  • You are a great player, I love mallets and I hope to be talented enough like that to hopefully be in a bigger marching and concert season band. Thank you for posting this, it's an inspiration,

  • that was really good props to you man

  • Brings tears to the eyes. You should send McCartney a copy, he would be proud. Coming from someone who has been playing drums for over 30 years, your performance is an inspiration.

  • Very nice job !

  • ahhhh

  • Nice playing. if i could just give some constructive advice - it's hard to tell from the video, but just in case: perhaps you should be lighter on the pedal. i.e., lowering it *just* enough will make fast pedaling much easier (lowering it all the way/too much is a bad habit to get into, i catch myself doing it all the time).

  • Very nice! Does anybody know a place where I get can get/buy note on vibraphone in this arrengement?

  • THE BEST BEATLE COVER I HAVE EVER HEARD ON A SOLO INSTRUMENT!!!! and i am a beatles FREAK so i would know! nice job!

  • thats deep

  • WAUW! .... :')

  • relaxing~

  • Whoa. Did you arrange that yourself?

  • Read the info: Ed Smith´s arrengment. And i wont to buy the score!

  • bangin

  • are those ney rosauro mallets?

  • Where can I get this piece?

  • lol. his pedal moved away from him...or was that on purpose?

  • Well played! =)

  • Oh wow. What publisher did you get this piece of music from?

  • ...Are you single?

Whoa, that was probably really forward. I'm just kidding, anyways. But it is nice to see a man playing mallet instruments. Where I'm from, basically only girls are good at it.

Like, me for instance, I really want to learn this song next. You, inspire me. :)

I'll be looking for this music soon.

    Thank you for posting.

    The Beatles are amazing.

  • you can stay in street in city and people give you money and 100 people are around and look

  • This was really good. REALLY GOOD! One of my favorite songs of all time.

Seemed like tempo in certain spots was a bit too ambitious...?

  • amazingly done

  • gorgeous.

  • this is is good it made me cry. this is great. did u arrange this urself or is it arranged by someone else?

  • You can probably let your arms go out further from your sides, too much cramping is uncomfortable and improper.

Also, you should pick your head up and just look down. I've been yelled because I looked down like you do.

  • i feel ya lol x.x

  • Also, maybe a carpet square under the pedal? The thudding of it hitting the ground really takes away from the good work you've done w/this piece. Overall though, keep up the great work! Oh, nice North Texas tee too...Some of my great teachers came from that school...Terry Steele, Steven Hawk, David Glover...good stuff, strong department.

  • Technique, technique, technique. Beginning from addressing the instrument. I know you're using the pedal, but step away from the instrument. You should never have your elbows behind your spine when you play. Also, don't listen to the dude about your mallets crossing in the back of your grip as he obviously does not know what Burton grip is. But, don't allow your index finger to pull the trigger--same idea as Stevens grip, but more for interval control. Also, just relax the grip.

  • thats fucking sweet!!

  • you need major work on tec. your four mallet are not supposed to cross; also it a nice a litte hard piece, work on your tec. and you should be alot better (also don't put your thumb on top of your 1+3 mallets it may give leverage but it it a habit you'll regrat later) but over all pretty nice!!

  • who says he has to use burton grip?

    no one

  • wait... he is using burton!

  • He's using Burton Grip, kid.

  • umm... sorry to break it to you... but there are other grips than stevens grip. which is prolly what your talking about....

  • 100% badass! you've inspired me to learn!

  • god, this is soo beautiful... thanks for sharing.

  • where can i pick up sheet music for this?is there any?

  • that was amazing!

i play too, i only wish this well.

  • i have those mallets. i love this nice job.

  • very nice is this arrangement availabe for purchase? and where?

  • this is nice dude u got skills im 13 i can only play with 2 mallets..what a shame

  • outstanding performance. i hope to be at unt one day.

  • Awesome song. Great job!!

  • DAMN ! I LOVE THIS !!!

Btw, reminds me of music in an elevator ...

But this is the most relaxing and coolest music I've ever heard :D !

    I want this as mp3. !!!

  • Wow. That is... superb!

  • Right On!

  • You did good...and yeah Ed Smith is probably the best Vibraphone player I've ever seen...i remember that he played that at the recital last year.

  • Do you know if this is going to be published soon? I would love to play this arrangement.

  • !!!

My vibes!! or almost... mine weren't graduated bars.. It was interesting to play on vibes with graduated bars because I wasn't anywhere used to them on the left hand... but the pedal kept swinging sideways like that, except inevitably it would go too far around to the side...

  • Incredable playing. Are you endorsed?

  • Thanks, I really appreciate it but no I'm not endorsed, I still have a lot of things to work on (like improv, playing in a group, mallet dampening, etc.) But hopefully an endorsement will come in the future.

  • Thanks, this arrangement hasn't been published yet though.

  • @LucasVibes any publishing yet? I'd like to do it for a recital next year

  • Comment removed

  • Very cool...who publishes that arrangement?

  • cool! =]
