It's surprising how much the better the song keeps getting as it goes on... Every second is better than the last... This is truly Tool's masterpiece yet this is probably the least popular Tool song. It's sad because everyone just wants easy to sing to songs with an easy chorus and forget about how beautiful and different music can become... Oh well.

This song is anything but a simple "pro-drug" song. Its a song about the spiritual and the physical worlds coming together. To me Tool is another diseased entity of post-industrial time ie: tendency toward individualism via introspection and drug use (masturbatory.) Just using drugs as a foundation for the song. Although I'd like to point out that some of the drugs he's talking about are "natural" not chemical. Like most of Mr. Keenans lyrics: he uses cryptic metaphors in this one as well. There is a question I love asking doubters: what have you ever done?

I enjoy looking into his interperatation about life, because It adds answers to my questions and in tern adds to my own set of beliefs. Thats how everyone should be with music in general. I think the only real difference is that no one can show you how to meditate, its something you have to learn and feel for yourself. And religion comes with its own little system, an order, of how to do things.

@JJAlamond Medatation should not be compared with Prayer. Prayer is either for worshipping purposes or for the sake of hope and faith. Medatation is about finding yourself spriritualy and exploring the planes through your minds eye.. There's No worshipping a God and no asking for a miracle to happen. Some people just do it to achieve a state of peace or calm

They are all the same thing. Miracles happen every day. If you've ever read the book "The Secret" you know that good things that happen to you are results of positive thought and positive energy. Religion gets meditation wrong, it gets prayer wrong. If you find yourself spiritually, you are more stable in the concept of "self". True "godliness". That is why true prayer=Meditation.

@AnaLilia813 that's interesting because that's one recent revelation i've made. we are the dirt on the fringes of the lace, life is the divine excrement. we live inside, and we are a bi-products of this higher power. i know that the pentagram was originally used as a symbol of safety and fertility i just felt it was worth mentioning. sacred geometry is a pretty interesting concept.
