I have no hate for anyone but yet I do see the point that truth4u2c is making he has scripture quoted and all Shane does is merely repeat the same verse of "blessed are the poor...woe to you who are rich" which i might add is a major thing that Americans across the board need to hear in the midst of consumption but it is only one of the many things that need to be adddressed...SIN is the main benefactor and I believe America in general is lost in it....GOD HELP! God bless you truth4u2c!!
@onlylonesome It Frustrates me that Shane Criticizes Fundamentalism, and dosen't back up what he says with scripture to show where fundamentist have it gotten it wrong. Our standard is the word of God, God definds love, It was out of love that I made this video.
To think that Shane embraces the sin of these sinners is wrong. To assume that Shane does not read the bible that is wrong (I would be willing to bet that he is familiar with the Lords Prayer... just saying). Matthew 22: 34-40 is this not what Shane is doing? Shane is not embracing their sin. He is loving the person. He is then in turn sharing the love of Jesus Christ. A person with sin is welcome in church. We love that person not their sin. Or at least I pray we love that person!
I do hope your right, from this vid and other things I read that he has written, it doesn't look to me that he calls sinners to repentance, I'm very loving towards sinners, we all should be, but we are all called to proclaim the truth in love to everyone.
LOVE!!!! Thank you my brother or sister who posted the above. I am imperfect, and I thank Christ He loves and forgives me still.
"Forgive us our tresspasses AS WE forgive those who trespass against us." I know I need to work on that part of the Lord's prayer. In that, I do not feel I am alone.
Shane is a living testament of the GRACE of God OUR Father. His life is devoted to helping the (figuratively speaking) "orphan and widow."
I think you have some rational arguments however I stongly recoment that you read The Irresistabl Revalution wether you agree with Shane or not you can atleast understand where he is comming from. Also his point of veiw is that some people are born homosexuals however these people should seek celabacy (sp?)
the safe place he is referring to is meaning a place where Christians don't make them outcasts. He is not talking about a special place...like a sect...lol....Remember where Jesus used to party... HE CAME TO THEM. Jesus finds us...we do not find him. We are chosen.
"the safe place he is referring to is meaning a place where Christians don't make them outcasts" their actions make them outcast's.. Christians simply bring the truth, it's up to the hearer of the message to become a doer of the word proclaimed to them.
Did Jesus not have fellowship with tax collectors and sinners ( having a meal with them ) he didn't preach at them but just had fellowship with them. Is this not an example that we should have fellowship with people with obvious sins ( homosexuality etc ) I think what I take from this is that Jesus wants us to love people and value them for who they are. Build relationships first before we start to preach at them. many people who are trapped in sin know it's wrong. They need to be loved .
Yes, Yes, Yes, No where do I say other wise. The concern is if we assure someone inside the church they are right with God, but we don't call them into repentance. Those who claim Christ, Should show signs of being born again..read the Bible, those outside LoVE Love Love....Peace
I do read my Bible and understand about repentance. I just think we can be too quick to try and tell people you must repent etc before we have built any kind of meaningful relationship. I guess I am tired of evangelistic meetings where we seem to be too quick to get people to say the sinners prayer and don't really show love and concern to get to know people. To make disciples is long term and often we can be quick to make converts but have rushed in too quickly. Jesus friend os sinners!
Amen, again, The concern I have for many in the emergent movement is that they throw out sound doctrine by being so sloppy with what they are saying. We can't change the Gospel, If fundamentists have the gospel correct, then this new part of the body shouldn't judge it wrong, it will only water down the truth. One more point, I've seen churches never get to the repentance message, because they enjoy the numbers of people they can draw in by avoiding that part of the gospel.
