  • Did anyone notice the last picture of his face as it ends

  • I've never boxed in my life, but I'm pretty sure I could tear that guy up.

  • @ohsnapitsfrankie oh please. that makes me laugh. is it because of his height or his body?? Height wont matter between a non-trained civilian and a boxer, you'll already know the outcome. And if its a muscled non-trained civilian vs a fat boxer, nothing will change.

  • Thats the same poster of muhammad Ali I have in my room!

  • corn-ation?

  • @DyslexiaSkucs coordination.

  • press 4 twice for his monkey impression!

  • ~but if you do that at around a ring like the mma fighters or at a park with a girl or a good area then it doesn't matter or in the early morning after the kids go to school than it doesn't matter cuz thats when everyone exercises

  • I wouldn't want to jump rope outside cuz 1 it would break my concentration and,2 its not like elementary school and you have recess think about it if a guy even thinks about doing that in a gym hes toast

  • what is the name of the variation you do at 0:45?

  • is a speed rope better? will it help me get better reflexes?

  • @alteredoptions I'm no expert, but i believe high speed ropes are so you don't tire out, since there so light, don't know about reflexes though.

  • VATO!

  • Seriously i love you for this "clip" helped me to figure it out, Thumbs up from here :-)

  • I like dem pants! gimme

  • Hi, I don't have enough space in my room to be able able to use an actual rope.

Can I do shadow skipping instead or is that just a waste of time ?

  • @MrTuxkid Go outside?

  • @MrTuxkid you don't have a garage? lol no one jumps rope in their bedroom.

  • how do you know how long your jump rope should be. i.m 5'10 and it seems like my jump rope is still a little to long after i cut a few inches off of it. i have the weighted rope so i could pull the rope through the handles to adjust the length. i just don't want to cut to much to make it to short

  • @cujo1975 Don't cut the rope. Instead, just tie a knot in it; either in the middle or near a handle. That shortens the rope but not irreparably, if you change your mind.

To get the length right, start by doing the following: step on the rope at its midpoint. Then lift the handles up straight. They should roughly reach your underarms. As you get better, you may want to shorten it a bit (so you can turn the rope faster, with your head curled down a bit).

  • Hey Tard. Thats rubbish..

  • awesome video

  • Comment removed

  • I'm Number 420 like rating !!!! lol

  • The very first drill you are showing is already NOT for beginners. I don't know anyone who started from that. What people start from is the so called "girlie" jump. You jump with both feet together. The 1-2 step you are showing, it took me a MONTH to get there.I had to practice jumping on one leg, which completely destroyed my knees. I was in pain for two weeks. But I finally did it, and I am now jumping the 1-2 step. I am a 29 year old male in a pretty poor physical condition.

  • @ibex333 Your absolutely right. The very basic jump is the girly 2 step jump (although calling it a girly one is an injustice as it is an excellent exercise). I couldnt believe how hard it was for me to get to the 1-2 stage. I thought it would be an easy transition, but it required a great deal of increased concentration and practise. It took me a coupla weeks to get there for sure!

  • @ajarman123 I think that the key is to stick with it, and not give up because of pain or tiredness. I am not doing even better, and I am able to keep jumping for longer. My legs are now able to last longer without pain too! I hope to move past the 1-2 step to something more advanced, but I still cant do it yet. Guess it will take some more time and practice.

  • LIFES LIKE A JUMPROPE UP DOWN UP DOWN yeaaaaah

  • Thank you, My Friend Good video and good explanation of practice and how it contributes to coordination and how THAT contributes to boxing success!

  • for beginners??wud u stop u dope...

  • He sound like Sergio Mora....cool dude

  • how many or how long should i jump in a day? what like the norm or smth

  • @taaviss depends on your stamina, try and do 3 2 min rounds, or 3 3 min rounds

  • your explanations are so simple but effective...and realy good for beginers...good job m8 ;)

  • stronger and leaner is better in my opinion

  • hi i got a quesstion i could jump with both my feet at the same time but i cant jump the boxing stance at all could someone plz help me

  • @dad123456789able

lt's all just a practice of hand-feet coordination, don't get frustrated.Observe some footwork vids and try it endlessly, through trial and error fluid jumping will just come from nowhere one day and coordination problem will be just a funny memory.Rope jumping is a great skill and takes some time and effort to master it.Good luck.

  • @partisan72 Well said. thanks

  • 50 50 50 50? lol

    Thats 200

  • i can't wait until i can do those crossings. so sweet!

  • i suck at jump rope errgggg

  • Wow. I didn't know that jump rope has such an important part in boxing training.

  • This is a good video and I would love to use it as a guide, but I can't see your feet because of the text. This makes it hard to see what you are doing with them.

  • Goood video ;) :D

  • Im 13 i was start boxing this summer :D This helps ALOT! I dont wana go in knowing nothing >< Thanks For this Finally Helpfull expert villiage

  • i really like boxing and im really good at it i mean i fucking dropped tito ortizes nephew but i cant jump rope or do speed back and i never found these things to be critical but what i wanted to ask its not a needed thing right? it just helps or what?

  • @LilShaggy82 The rope gives you stamina, hand and leg coordination and timing. The speed bag improves your reflex and also gives you timing and cordination. IT HELPS A LOT. The mastering of these makes the diference between a boxer and a brawler. I still dont need to post a video.

  • @Fitoldo Muay thai fighters dont do those and they arent brawlers... i think i should just do that instead of boxing

  • any one else find lifting their strong foot first and following with the weaker? Im left handed and lift right foot first. left feels awkward for me

  • it says to be light on your feet, but don't you wanna be kinda heavy on your feet when throwing a power punch? as the power comes through the whole body not just the arms

  • @IntellectualMusic ye but when you're moving you want to be light

  • @zachskates15 thnx brother

  • @IntellectualMusic No problem

  • how do you cross the rope in the air whren you are jumping?

  • Your a champ boy.

  • is jumping rope good for building cardio??

  • @1Mafioso4 It's the most effective cardio workout.

  • Thanks

  • mine is an everlast jump rope with speed bearing in the handles

  • i just ordered the same kind of rope. weighted model.

  • this is also a cool work out, isnt ?

  • Yeah...it gets better when you learn new moves

  • Is 200-300 hops a good enough workout..or too much? I max out at around 300, but do an average of 250-270 @ 5-6 sets minimum at least 5 days a week in my sessions.

  • When you do your jump rope sessions, try jumping rope for time. For example, 5 or 6 three minute rounds with a 30 to 60 second rest in between rounds. Another good idea is to do the infamous 4 minute Tabata workout with the jump rope.

  • What would that be? What's a jumprope Tabata workout consist of? Is that just a 4 minute workout with the rope. Anything special to it?

  • Yeah. 20 seconds of intense skipping and 10 seconds of rest until you reach 4 minutes.

  • thanks..i'll try that. can u recommend a good speed rope? the ones i currently use are the nike and sparq speed ropes w/ poly coated steel cables. they work best for me so far.

  • You dont need a fancy expansive rope, just get a regular rope from your local sports store or something..

  • thx..i'm on top of it boss!

  • Some times I jump rope about 20min straight as long as your knees don't hurt, and you jump on a rubber mat, or a good running track with soft surface you can do it as long as you want.

  • how's that possible..20 min nonstop? i guess that's relative to running for a few miles w/out stopping. either you can or can't do it. i do my rope workouts in 3min sections of 250-300 @ a time. total of 1200-1600 hops max. when i'm done. hopping rope is a killer workout. do you box?

  • I can run 4 miles @ around 7.5 mph straight It doesnt feel that much different. I do boxing on and off no real fights just sparring though. Jumping rope is better to me since its not as hard of an impact as running is, at least in my opinion.

  • You should try doing it for 40 min well thats how long i do it for

  • i suck at this the most i ever done is 54 skips

  • is it ok to jump barefoot?

  • You know if u can use your inner strength (kung-fu) in boxing, that would be great for your body defence as well as your attacking power..

  • does jump rope make your calfs bigger...? Plz answer

  • yeah it will if you do it enough

  • alight thankz

  • not necessarily bigger but stronger and leaner. more muscular

  • @tomertalmy Interesting, ever heard of Brock Lesnar?

  • @Seretai brock lesnar is an fag, all he does is wrestle no stand up at all hes a pussy..

  • Jump on the balls of your feet (towards the front) or on the toes of your shoe, it'll help.

  • absolutely

  • Yes..

  • Of course it does. It will make them bigger, get a better shape and stronger.

  • basketball559

not really that much. Your better off doing calf raises

it mainly focuses on your agility, stamina/endurance and footwork. thats why so many boxers do it

it tones up your entire body though, if you do it long enough. including your calfs

  • no it has the same effect on your calfs as walking does the only way to make your calf bigger is too use high weight at low reps

  • lol yeah this guy is good. I learned to wrap my hands properly because of this guy.

  • dose this improve stamina or do i have to go running 4 milles for that

  • i was wondering the same thing.

but ive been boxing for like 3 months now, and it does help ur cardio slightly, but running is the way to imprve cardio.

  • hell yeah. I noticed that too. I run up and down hills and that has helped more then anything. But a good jump rope drill is always the best way to warm up.

  • real talk this video probably the realest video out there for jump roping for boxers. good looks on the upload

  • i really like dhis video

  • i really like dhis video of urs. becaures it is all about: 'Boxing' where all the fighter can be good enough.. if they want to become stronger in the ring, besides it's great to work-out your body and ur legs too! in order to move around with your legs... u have to jump rope drills and to work-on the footwork to dage opportunity [AK] so U better get ready BUD!! "OH" and i'm going to give it a 4-POINTS!!!! :)

  • The way you cross them is sick!! I like it, I jump rope myself too.

  • Does anyone know if this helps you loose weight?

  • its better than running and it trains you to keep light on ur feet

  • can anyone tell me what the best surface to jump rope is ?

i have started on grass as it is soft and shouldnt cause much problems with the joints - is this a good surface ?

  • grass is a great surface, but you could get like a yoga mat thing and use that too

  • this was helpful man. first expert village video ive seen that isnt a complete joke

  • nice, very helpful, he almost tripped over tho lolz

  • NASTY CROSSING BRO

  • man dont disgrace the Legendary IRON Mike Tyson by naming that prick after him

  • haha ya ur right.. that man doesn't deserve nothing.. is just he sounded all "bad ass"

  • very helpful jumping rope tip for boxing

im gonna do it today !!

  • if your starting to learn to jump rope start with this technique. i started just on the basic jump and it killed my calfs this is great,it rests your calfs equally and you build up strength in both legs then you can move on to the harder stuff

  • Very detailed video! I have never tried this before but i think i will give your technique a try. Thanks!

  • good vid ty

  • wiked vid

  • they did

  • if you don't have a good enough padding and your jumping on concrete and all u might not want to shift all your weight on one foot and then the other cuz might get ya shin splints

  • cheers

  • Thanks for this vid...great info! ;)

How long will it take to actually learn that technic....one, two, one, two with rope??? :)

  • what do you mean by getting chin splits

  • shin splints they are hard to explain but runners and jumping rope can get shin splints because there might not be enough padding thats what happens when you jump on concrete with out the right padding worn out shoes can do that jumping to high without good padding that stuff without padding mostly your shin is taking the shock absorbtion wich is bad

  • thanks for the info im 5 10 you think a 9feet jump rope will do for me

  • actually if I were you I would get a 10 foot jump rope to be on the safeside : )

  • alright thanx for the heads up,is it bad to jump rope bare footed cuhz i some times do

  • well what are you jumping on? I remember when I started juming rope for boxing and I was bare footed and for the next 2 weeks afterwards I could barley walk there was so much pain

  • Basically just on the concrete i just got into boxing in all

  • concrete barefooted? lol dude thats the worst thing you can do with jumping rope lol here is my advice if you are going to jump on concrete I mean I do to but I would where shoes and socks even two pairs of socks if possible its always good to have padding underneath your feet when you jump rope

  • thanx alot bro...

  • no prob

  • You will wear out your rope quickly. I'd advise putting down some mats or piece of vinyl and jump on top of that.

  • ohh thanx

  • i am 6 foot 1, what length would you reommend anyone? 9 or 10 foot?

  • 10 foot should work:)

  • you sure its not shin splints?

  • and also just to say to my last two comments I box too I used to do karate 2 years ago so thats how I know what a dojo is

  • I get shin splints too It was because I was jumping high and on concrete I am resting my legs and all that but I don't have anything else to jump on but the concrete? what do I do? by a training mat?? like a dojo mat (karate training area)

  • don't worry about the pain, it's just your legs getting used to the jumping, you'll work it out in time,

  • if anyone knows how hes jumping side to side like that come to my page and tell me thanks!

  • just shifting his weight onto each foot per jump,so say first jump shifts it to the left and 2nd onto the right then repeats.

  • i jumprope...on a jumprope team...we compete in our region, nation and world!!!

and yes if you feel pain that is normal it means you need to build that muscle up more....trust me i would know

  • well idid some jump rope without a rope which is kinda the same thing for like 10 mins and it was hard breathing n teh pain was more in my calves not the front...so if i have very strong calves then does that mean i have less of a chance of getting shin splits? also what can i do to strecth that part.

  • if your feeling pain stop, wait till your healed then try again.Apart from the obvious things like jumping too high(should be no more than a inch or two)or jumping on concrete,it might be worth going for a gait analysis(professional footwear advice)to make sure your wearing the right trainers, you might be over or under pronating etc.

  • like after a week of jump ropin i began to feel pain in my shins , sort of like a bruise . Is that normal ?

  • Warning! You are getting shinsplints. Takes months to get rid of. You need to warm up loads. Then don't work on very hard surfaces constantly. Leave a day between training. Ignore at your peril...

  • should i add, after warming up and your workout, it's important to apply an ice pack to both of your shins at the site of pain for 20 minutes and if you can stand it, use your thumbs to apply pressure on the inside of the shinbone (where it hurts) and slowly push down your shin towards your ankle.

  • oh yeah, your shoes and the surface of your workout could have a lot to do with it too.. :)

  • Yeh hes right its defonately shin splints. Please take his advice mate.

  • it might be that u are a lil bit over weighted thats y am losing weight at the moment befroe goin into severe training drinking lots of water and jogging is rrealy gd 4 losing weight

  • it might be that u are a lil bit over weighted thats y am losing weight at the moment befroe goin into severe training drinking lots of water and jogging is rrealy gd 4 losing weight
