You played the tune with the stye close to The Shadows. But the only thing that is not close is the sound system. Please try similar guitar used by Hank Marvin, you will sound a lot better with it.

My first attempts at this great tune was in 1971 on what was then called a "Kay Concert Classic" acoustic giutar, my fingers hurted so much with all the practice and my mum and dad got sick of hearing me playing it to the record!!
