It doesn't mater how old the people playing it are. It's still a good piece. I played it with a college wind ensemble once. And they have a great music program. So it just depends on what you do with the music. Either make it great or not. Or something philosophical there.
My band is playing this for 2 competitions, and I must say, it's nice to finally hear it out of other ear for a while.
You have very nice balance, although the brass could be a hair softer throughout, and there wasn't supposed to be an accelerando at the end of Le Furet, even if it's stylish =3
I love your poco piu mosso in The Laurel Grove. Amazing job!
King Dagobert was ruled by the drums, and I couldn't hear the flutes or piccolo most of the time
very good! im in high school band and we r playing this i wanted to see how fast its supposed to go cause we r practicing it slower for a little bit and it is FAST! lol (for the first movement)
my 9th grade gifted band is playing this right now but we've only done the first movement so far. our band teacher alwayz freaks cuz hes trying to get us in the right tempo but we're slowing down, its hilarious
I loveee this song! Especially the third movement! But we play the first movement faster, our conductor conducts it in one. And we also play the second movement quite slower, which I do like better. The alto sax part is lovely!
Do they have french horns, if so they need to play out, if not then the orchestra is seriously lacking, I hear holes in the music that shouldn't be there
Oh man... I'm playing all 3 movements for my school music exam tomorrow. I'm dying on king dagobert. The first part is fine but I crash at the second page. :( Any suggestions?
This is amazing. I just got this music for an honor band audition tomorrow, and I've been trying to play it on flute. Its a little tough at first, but after a few tries it gets easier. Your band plays it beautifully. I applaud you.
I was in a high school honour band weekend a couple of weeks ago, and we played this. It was easily this fast, maybe faster.. I loved the Bassoon part I was playing, because you'd be playing with the Tuba's an one bar and harmonizing with the flutes in the next.
pretty good... I'm playing this for my band, we have over 100 kids in it, and I think your group sounds better because its smaller. I'm a flute, and it is really hard to even out our high instruments and low instruments, but this band does great.

I apologize. That wasn't me. I left my laptop open in my dorm and my roommate got to it.
