I think they are called crackling balls. I used to wing them into the air with a sling shot. Sort of a cheap mortar effect. Nice execution. I really need to get my r/c car back up and running.
Those cars are electric but we are driving them very slowly for the show. I have a different video where we are cranking those puppies at full speed. :)

Those RC Cars are Team Losi XXX 2wd buggies. We are driving them SLOW in this video. You can see us lay down some real speed in another video I made called Losi XXX 2wd Mamba Brushless RC Car.
I'll have to ask my buddy Jeff more about the exact fireworks he bought. He did this the year before and knew the perfect ones to get. It was fun :)
