  • hot ginger and dynamite

ain't nothin but that each night

    back in nagasaki

    where the fella's chew tobbacy

and the women wicky wacky woo.

  • This is my favourite youtube video of all time.

  • I didnt understand anything they said but i liked the song and it made me laugh at 1:02-1:09

  • I have no idea what they are saying in this song.

  • Oh my goodness! I have been looking for footage of my great- great uncle walter for so long. I can't believe that it was his 75 year old internet illiterate niece who found him. I couldn't believe it so I had to have a look for myself. I can't wait to share the link with the rest of the family. I found another clip under Red and Struggs. Just phenomenal.

  • I cannot find much information on Red and Struggs. Any suggestions on doing research on them?

  • Theifs have whores and biggies... @1;00

  • Wonderful, I haven't heard of them, now off to IMDB to look them up. Thanks.

  • I never heard of these guys. I love this! They did a great job with the song. This song will be forever marred because of the horrific destruction of the city in WWII, but the song, and most likely this performance, predated the war. It sounds like a fantasy song of exotic places. I doubt if the the lyricist had ever been there. As far as I know, Japanese men don't chew tobacco any more than men in other places. Fun song, all the same.

  • Yes, this was another great favourite of my dear departed mother who would sing and tap dance to this after a few 'gim'n tomics' - I think it was on one such occassion that she put her hip out when doing the splits - god rest her.

  • I think this performance deserves nothing but reverence. (Both men are African-American.)

The song was written prior to the bomb, by the way.

  • The original 'human beat-box' @ 1:00

  • The band playing in the background is Don Redman's orchestra.

  • Notice during when the camera closes up on the white man's face how he has make-up applied to him in order to make fun of blacks. Black men at that time were only thought to be good as entertainers. Despicable

  • I haven't seen any white guys in this video. Besides, they were a comedy dance act for fun, which was their bread and butter. If they meant to be serious entertainers they did a crappy job of it.

  • Nagasaki, chew tobaccy, oh wicky wacky woo,

  • Great version

  • this is great

  • Siiiiiiic

  • I love the episode of Jeeves and Wooster where Bertie sings this song!

  • @Breakingbenjamin42 I agree it is one of my favorite jeeves and wooster songs!

  • this is the type of singing thats smooth, like hot ginger and dynamite. I'm in love with woman that are wigga wigga wacky woooooooooo!

  • these guys are amazing It's a shame that political correctness keeps them and many other very talented african americans performers of the 30-40's from getting the credit due them

  • What a brilliant Performance.

  • Joy....deep joy....early in the mordy..

  • I always love this tune, but Bobby Short's is the best ever.

  • heh.. great. thank you!

  • Fantastic! Best version of Nagasaki I've heared apart from Cab Calloways

  • Thanks, Peter!!

  • Way ahead of their time with the baggy clothes. It is spelled Struggie.
