  • blast from the past, really good times !!!

  • wHEN WE WOZ THERE , EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE AND I MEAN EVERYONE WAS DANCIN, EVERYONE, DONT HAPPEN NOW. Peace

  • I'm probably in that crowd through the haze, having it large, happy days!

  • joined the hac in 82 no trouble getting in then i can tell ya...

  • I always go down the street with my car and with the loud music

  • Sankeys !!! New dance music is shit !

  • Farley jack at the hac !!!! Respect went loads back in the day often used to c Wigan rugby lads there martin offiah and shaun edwards happy people havin fun no weapons just high on life :))))) fastdave

  • I very much doubt people will look back at Sankeys with the same respect as the Hacienda. Sankeys may be a good club & have some history but the Hacienda was one of the pioneers bringing dance music to the UK (when dance music was tiny)! would Sankeys even exist if it wasnt for the Hac?

  • Why aren't there any women in the vid, Or was it just filmed on the gay night.

  • I don't wanna hear people bitchin about how they weren't about in the 'Golden' era of the Hacienda. Was probably (never went) an incredible club but today's Hacienda is Sankeys and in 10-20 years time people will talk about Sanks in the same way people talk about the Hac now so make the most of it and fuckin get on it! Times change! Big respect to the old skool ravers though!

  • What year was this?

Fucken sic the last one I was 12 or would have been at the time

  • mother i love you dearly but why couldnt you have had me when you were 15! 10 years later and i missed out on this!!!

  • I can proudly say I went to the Hac but in a stooper.

  • thats the real house and darryl is the king

  • All these little scumbag chav scum trying to talk like ali g should watch this and realize what a proper night was. No knives, no attitude, just loved up happy people spending their saturday nights knocking out shapes to tunes like this in the church of the Hacienda. Great memories, honoured to have been lucky enough to experience such great times.

  • @sirstanmeister too right, them years were the best. Never no trouble, like u said just loved up happy people getting off on the best tunes ever, past present future!!!!

  • this was getting played at the Man Alive near Umist well before the hac was playing it - same for Berlins

  • @jayeevee Berlin, dude. Singular. Its a f---kin Starbucks now.

  • Spot on, great footage , great Vibe, top tune, Mind blowing times and i for one have certainly never looked back just kept moving on with the acid house lifestyle!!

    One Love x jonny

  • HAHA i wasnt expecting this...good tune ,nice lol

  • This is sooo Chicago. I remember going to Texas in the late 80's and playing these tapes, and NO ONE liked it. I'm glad there's people still enjoying the music.

  • norths got the grit souths got the s--t

  • love this beats one two you no it..........

  • mdma rules !

  • makes me proud to have been a part of it from 89 and to the end thanks for the memories and the friends i made you will always be i my thoughts forever and always R.I.P hacienda

  • without a doubt makes me proud to have been there in 89 and seen it through and proud to be a part of it all. thanks for the great times

  • dont no if you guys can remember the KLF track (its grimme up north)how dare they say that lol it was banging

  • Aye The KLF. Nice tunage.

  • never mind about klf its still grim

  • but remember one true reply to its grimme up north...ITS SAD DARN SOUTH

DREAMIN DA DREAMS OF DA DREAM KEEPIN DA FAITH FOREVER AND A DAY UPWARDS N ONWARDS STILL PARTYIN TILL THE HOUR I DROP ,KEEPING IT REAL,,RAVE ON PEOPLE

  • long live the 90s for the dance music, you will never ever get that feeling back it was a unique era,we used to travel down to manchester every weekend a visit the hac

we travelled all the way from poole in dorset thats how good it was,

  • yeh man well said manchester was the shit man !! u know wot its still bangin u shud get bk up here !!!

  • the feeling was drug induced , cant see the fun in that ,each to his own i suppose

  • 20yrs on, and not a drug in sight, but this still gives me a buzz. explain that!

  • lol hey my brother used to go to quadrant park liverpool, saw him one night ,doing a manic dance in the wardrobe mirror, grinning to himself , probably high on extacy, come on ,to dance for hours and hours you need it ,im not saying everone took drugs ,but its well documented a lot did , as i said each to his own,

  • Yeah mate you need to get back up here it's bouncin again now Manchester, Warehouse Project, Sankeys, smashin the place to pieces at the mo...

  • Good evening chaps ;)

  • Tune!! But sick of these bell ends putting the Hacienda on a pedestal, it was probably the best club at the time, but Manchester has clubs nowadays to rival this music and atmosphere, try Sankeys or the Warehouse Project when it's on. These places are the Hacienda's children, the Haqcienda might have gone but the spirit lives on in Manchester, you just have to go to the right places!!

  • Don't be bitter mate..I was mad at it in the hac since 86 when i watched mantronix live. And then went on a rampage for years until around 92-93 and up and down the country there was never anywhere like the hac, it was perfection. I love the thunderdome, and the Blackburn dawn raids, but the hac was special.

i hear what your saying but sankeys would not come close, my mate was a dj there few years ago..its alright, but a new generation now, its their place..

  • That's what I'm gettin at mate, don't get me wrong I'm gutted I missed out on goin the Hacienda, more so I could see what all the fuss was about without just hearing the stories and seein the vids, hearin the tunes etc. but like I said it's a new generation now, I've been parties that I'm sure would rival some of your's from back in the day believe me, however it was the Hacienda and the generation that pioneered it, to me that's what makes it so special!

  • Fairplay mate.. But consider this, if you had been with the rest of us loopy gits at the hac, you would now be late 30's early 40's or bang on 40 (just) like me. I didn't go to the hac i survived it..lol

For tunes, just go through my faves theres plenty.

But you find some man city stuff in there mate, just to throw that in..lol

    peace..

  • Theres no comparison to nights at The Hacienda and Sankeys. The Hacienda was unique, the bellends as you quote made the place even more special, I'm sure you've never felt as one with over 1500 people in Sankeys. The Hacienda laid the foundations. I have empathy for you brother, I livedwhat you missed, I went to the opening night of Sankeys soap and left after an hour, the crowd had to much bad attitude and lack of understanding...but it looks like youve found your spiritual home.

  • In your eyes and in your opinion there's no comparison. That's fine. And what I meant by bellends was people of my generation moaning that there is no decent clubs in town anymore when there quite simply is. I agree with you the Hacienda laid the foundations. But like I've said times change, I wouldn've loved to have gone to the Hac to compare it with the nights I've had, and I know I wouldn't be dissappointed, but it's not gonna happen. Your opinion of Sankeys isn't a popular one.

  • People travel far and wide to visit the club, rated 5th best in the World, because it's atmosphere can't be equalled in this country. Reason being, like I said, it's one of the Hacienda's children. Your opinion of the crowd also isn't popular, it's renowned for it's 'clued up' clubbers and DJ's from across the World want to play there for it's special atmosphere and intimacy with the crowd. Sankeys isn't Sankeys Soap anymore it's better. And the Hac wasn't always full, so I've been told.

  • Ok maybe I'm blinkered on the atmosphere as I had a poor night there but this is how you form your judgment, based upon other experiences, ie being the nights at the Hac. I was part of the scene when it was underground, no superstar DJs, no real dress code. Its just so commercial nowadays, the scene has just become another genre, and a tired one at that. The Hacienda was innovative and didnt do it for monetary gain.Look at Cream, Renaissance and The Ministry, they cashed in turning into a brand.

  • When you say Sankeys was voted 5th best club in the world, it means nothing to me. The superstar DJs, clued up clubbers, intimacy with the crowd...yeah the cornerstone for any club, you'll find that up and down the country, maybe you should break free every now and again, go jump on a coach and sample a night out elsewhere, it'll do you good. I jumped ship when Salford took the door from Moss Side, had a part in its downfall thats why the crowds went down too many wannabe bad boys bouncing about.

  • I go all over the country mate, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Blackpool, Newcastle/Whitley Bay, even Newquay, and festivals like Creamfields, Global Gathering. Ibiza 3 times plus other lads holidays such as Ayia Napa, Magaluf etc. I know what I'm talkin about mate. It was my understanding Salford were always the main doormen there, having a lot to do with the Salford connections such as Tony Wilson, Happy Mondays etc. anyways that's another matter.

  • This kind of tune could make a generation cry....unfortunately, I only heard of the Hacienda, my parents did want me to enjoy the club life. Well they were right on other things though.

  • wow i was born in the wrong era, wish i could of experinced the hacianda

  • i named my cat charlie farley cat master funk, love this xx

  • this is the song that started it all for me!!

  • gutted i was born in the wrong era

  • Chhhuuunneeeee !!! disco biscuit music

  • When I go down Whitworth St now, I want to turn the corner and be back in the day and the Hac to still be there- hearing the base thumping from inside, a queue of jigging people stretching all the way round the corner, buzzing with anticipation for the night ahead..... then I see those bloody flats where the mecca to dance music once stood and I feel really gutted, but so glad to have been a part of it all and have such amazing memories, though some admittedly are slightly hazy in places! ;)

  • Did i write this or you...I feel like crying..

    i couldn't agree more..

The buzz in just the que was part of the hac, In fact it could in some parts be the start of your night if know what im saying 'Nudge nudge'...:)

    Fac 51 4 life..

  • @chilledangel71 know what you mean, i used to travel up from southampton and large it there at the weekends! awesome venue, nothing compares.

  • @chilledangel71 I was too young to appreciate house music back then and certainly too young to be clubbing but it also sickens me that a bunch of corporate property developers hijacked the Hacienda name.

  • one answer to them haze memories pmsl writing this drugs when they used to be drugs now adays there shit @chilledangel71

  • @chilledangel71 Being from the leeds area I have not been to Manchester for several years, but the last time I couldn't beleive the Has had been made into flats!!

It was a time a will never forget, great music Graham park The man.I loved shopping for my outfit, the drive there, parking under the dark arches, the queue and that guy who always was dancing before eveyone else. RIP HASxxxx

  • @chilledangel71 "hearing the base thumping from inside..." so true. Miss those nights so much. Never to be duplicated but always in our hearts!

  • OMG wish it was bac then now piano rifts flashing lights disco bisuits ace vibe LOVED IT standing by the big wall off speakers feeling the bass

  • This track opened peoples' eyes to a new form of music, this is house music,my coming of age, the opening of my eyes, the beginning of a never ending love affair with dance music, culminating in the second summer of love 89 and my first trip to Ibiza in 90, bring that sh*t back

  • Pretty sure it was on the 12". Also thought it was 7 or 8 minutes long. Cracking tune, used to fill the floor everytime. Great times.

  • 88 was the hac finest year.
