The theme, very often, for shows like Kitchen Nightmares (is that what this was meant for?) is that restaurants cling to their moderate successes to dismiss real problems in their restaurant. A dirty kitchen area is going to lead to some major problems. But worst of all, most people won't know until it happens, because it's behind the scenes. I think that's why Ramsay was so ticked.

Insults should be left as insults, adding in someone's ethnicity will result in events like compton cookouts. This is exactly how prejudice, racism, are created; take any ethnic studies class and you'll understand.

Think about it? I already have, why don't you take a look at the compton cookout as an example, or hundreds to thousands of years of social science data.
Differences should be highlighted in order to address the inequality within society such as Redlining and the anti-drug abuse act in the 1980s with 100:1 penalty ratio for cocaine. Differences should NOT be highlighted when insulting someone.

I just looked up the Compton cookout but it's hard to get a good image of what actually happened. But here's what I think about it. There's a difference between creating a party based on certain negative cultural stereotypes and using French as an adjective. If you create something with which you highlight negative stereotypes you're advocating such stereotypes, thereby isolating and labeling a certain group unfairly.

I'd like to add to this though that I do not neccesarily disprove of the Compton Cookout. Like I said, I wasnt able to get a good image of what it was and what the tone of it was. "Ghetto culture" is just another culture. We wouldnt mind if they did a Canadian Cookout. In which people come dressed as mounties and mooses. There's a difference between comedy and trying to bring down a certain race or culture.

Because by doing that you're treating differences as if though they are something which are wrong. There's nothing wrong with differences if you do not consider differences to be wrong.
