  • i love this version. httt is the best album of all time

  • great diversion if you have listened to to the original version a thousand times. i even like the vocals (Y)

  • I prefer the style of singing of Thom Yorke on this recording to hail to the thief version. And two voices and bass at the second part

  • imagine the percussion from this version coupled with the solo from the final version...

  • crap, some vocal work with conviction and more pronounced everything else and this would be a top song from another rock band

  • It's a shame Thom forgot to open his mouth when he was singing this, could have been a good version.

  • This is awesome! I gotta get my hands on this single. Sounds like Joy Division percussion with Siouxie and the Banshees guitar and Thom's voice, which is apparently a GREAT COMBO.

  • i love this version, why do b-sides become better than a-sides?

  • i like this version equally as the one on the album. its more raw on this one the percussion is more fun, but the vocals... just... idk.. i can't put my finger on it. love it. i know that.

  • Fuck you all. Thats how i want music! Raw and natural. This is awsome!

  • well i imagine this is just thom with a sequencer, and the kind of demo to give to band members to show a new song? its hardly meant to be judge along side any album tracks. i think an all-acoustic version i'd like, much like older demos like black star.

  • This sends me into a weird trance. Thom sounds kind of embarrassed to sing in this...like he's been dared by the others to sing along.

  • This opening drum sounds like Leaders of men by joy division

  • I think this one is just as good as the Album version

  • @talkingbeatlehead Same here, whats everyone yapping for, its fucking sweet.

  • @oasis12334 more like Uber i love the drum more in this one

  • My point is that I genuinely liked this version of the song but it was just distressing for me to read all this shit people were saying about it. Their mindset is that just because this version sounds different than the one they're used to automatically makes it inferior and intolerable. And their attitude, I don't get why they think theyre so much better than other people just because they listen to an avant garde band. Thom Yorke and the others are just as human as anyone else for fuck's sake.

  • @irvingcsaltzberg you need to calm down on the thesaurus. your shitty speech seems just as over produced.

  • @c0mLAG That's how I always type but if you need a thesaurus to understand me that's your own problem retard. Here let me dumb it down for you,

oMG U GUISE Y U SO MEEN THIS SONG SO PRETTY JUS CUZ ITS NOT ON THAT THER CD VERSHUN DONT MEEN ITS NOT GUD DONT BEE SUCH MEEN DOODOO HEADS

That's basically what I said except with a lot less conviction. It's pathetic how you're probably one of those pretentious Radiohead fans I was talking about yet you get intimidated by high school vocabulary words.

  • @irvingcsaltzburg ..You don't really know how a thesaurus is used, do you? And you need to pull your head out of your ass on the 'pretentious' shit. You're the arrogant prick who thinks people really give a shit. So what? Someone doesn't like this version of a song? And how fuck can you compare this to Kid A anyway? Might as well be comparing Aphex Twin and early-Smashing Pumpkins in terms of sound. Now go and spend your paycheck from the job you're underqualified for and buy a gun.

  • @c0mLAG I use a thesaurus all the time to look up words I don't know fuckhead, you look at the list of synonyms and it helps put the word in context, apparently you're the one who doesn't know how to use one. And I never compared this song to Kid A you fucking idiot, go back and actually read what I said because I'm getting really sick of simplifying things for you to understand. People like you are the reason why I only try to make friends with people who hate Radiohead.

  • @irvingcsaltzburg "I use a thesaurus all the time to look up words I don't know fuckhead" < that's a dictionary, tough guy. "how you can be open-minded enough to accept something like Kid A but then treat the intended version of one of their best songs like it was a dirty neanderthal" < and that's your comparison to Kid A, even though it was about the production and not the sound. As for the "friends with people who hate Radiohead", I'm not the one talking out of my ass, you are.

  • CONGRATULATIONS THIS IDIOTIC AND POINTLESS ARGUMENT HAS NOW TAKEN UP A FULL PAGE, because you can't seem to comprehend the simplest shit and I have to keep coming back here to correct you.

Notice what I said after the line you quoted me on "you look at the list of synonyms and it helps put the word in context" HMM WHAT KIND OF BOOK DOES THAT I WONDER I'll give you a hint it's not a fucking dictionary retard. Would you like to argue for another page on what a thesaurus is or are we done here?

  • @c0mLAG And I WAS comparing the sound of Kid A and this demo, in the sense that they both sound radically different than most everything else, what the fuck made you think I was talking about their production value? I was using Kid A as a point of reference to show these fans' hypocrisy for criticizing a song just because it sounds different. That's the only fucking reason I even mentioned Kid A, I don't know how you're pulling all these moronic assumptions out of your ass.

  • @irvingcsaltzburg It would be the thick headed one to call everyone down because of the "simplest shit". What the fuck is a dictionary used for then, you dumb cunt? To find definitions to what words mean? And then I was right about Kid A being compared. You're wrong. And the production as in this is a demo and that Kid A is not mainstream garbage. The sound. A different wording. Oh god. As if you're in any place to talk down to anyone. And you continued this as well, so don't be so smug.

  • You people are all fucking crazy. I love this song but I actually prefer this demo to the album version, it feels so raw and emotional which makes the song so much more personal, to me anyway. Fucking pretentious Radiohead fans, I don't understand how you can be open-minded enough to accept something like Kid A but then treat the intended version of one of their best songs like it was a dirty neanderthal just because it wasn't yet overly produced to sound appeasing to the masses.

  • I'm feelin' it

  • I played this in my house the other day and my brother started dancing like Ian Curtis.

  • JOY DIVISION!

  • The Phil snareroll is deeply missed here.

  • IT REMINDS ME TO JOY DIVISION

  • Well I, for one, thought it was cute.

  • well...i think i love it just the same...even more...kill me or something

so soft the voices...prefer this version for the listening, the official for the concerts

  • @FatherFakkers Well, that's why b-sides exist, and usually fans look for them.

  • @inferneko word, I agree. I also enjoy different versions - but this was a really an expetion from other b-sides.

  • @FatherFakkers

ya man. i just see this as an alternate version. and personaly, i really like it! (nothing compares to the original of course

  • Krautrock FTW XD

  • Glad they fixed it for the studio version.

  • Glad they changed it, this version is obiously worse. Still good, but not as genius as the album version.

The singing is much less confident, which really is a downer:

The narrator is supposed to be comforting, to be helping the 'you' person in the song. Being as shitty sad and cowering like the singing, kinda ruins the beauty of the song.

  • @ewfq2 whatever dude...

  • Muse stole the drum beat from this but i cant remember the name of the song, it's identical.

  • @jirdimaster supermassive blackhole perhaps?

  • @MicahBuzan It was exo-politics i think

  • @jirdimaster You sure that's not Air Traffic you're thinking of? 'No More Running Away' is what comes to my mind.

  • i love it! so raw and abrasive

  • RADIOHEAD¡¡¡

  • "we are accidents waiting to happen. "

    radiohead aint no accident.

  • Thank you for posting it!

  • a link to download this one would be appreciated

  • The structure of the song is less padded, bonier, and probably better to learn if you want to play this song.

  • unfortunately, IT IS :(

although this song ain't THAT BAD

  • it is radiohead they even have video of this jam

  • your an idiot

  • i like this version, it feels like they are on a empty stage just the echoes makes you drawn to it even more.

  • Heaven sent you to me...love Ed's backing vocals, well clear...me likey this...

  • Actually, that's Phil.

  • The only thing I miss is the awesome guitar during all of the "We are accidents" part.

  • Me too, I love that part, good they imroved this demo version to make the actual album version ;)

  • @dandelionhero I miss the bassline

  • You almost can't hear Thom's voice in this version of the song.

  • True, but I think his voice is better in this version.

  • hahahaha yeah! sound like basketball!!

  • Thom sings like he doesn't want to wake up the neighbors .... thank you for the upload(s)

  • the drums at the start sound like basketballs

  • thoms voice doesnt sound as good hear but the guitar is better i think

  • i like the drums better in this. ferocious lo-fi goodness.

  • This song has the same ''I mighty be wrong'' vibe ... great Demo .. but I still preffer the album version

    Greetings!

  • Someone has probably had a bad day...

  • hmmmmm......us radiohead fans dont speak to echother that way....were kinda like a family yknow?...i guess you dont.......please take your violence to another place.thank you kindly.

  • il murder u also

  • so sad.....just so very sad......you choose your own path my friend.

  • Condescending makes you no better, buddy.

  • and it what way was i condenscending again?

  • Easily the biggest overreaction to someone's different opinion that I've ever seen.

  • wtf

  • thanks for posting this!!!

    love it!!!!

  • i must admit that this version is good, however i love the way that the album version just breaks down at the end

  • i didn't know phil beat boxed!!

  • There There is one of my all time favorite Radiohead song. Can't believe this version, while different, is just as good. Thanks!

  • it's much less fierce than the final recording. I like it

  • thoms voice here....wow, its amazing! So soft, its like having your ears wrapped up in silk...

  • fucking nice!

  • omg awesome awesome awesome

  • thanks for uploading this song.

  • ah the last bit of my comment didn't work

I mean to ask what that lyric that sounds to my ears like "don't be shy" (barely heard here, and heard live) is? cause that doesn't seem right to me. but I can't find it or make it out

    oh wait

    it's "don't reach out," isn't it?

  • yes its don't reach out

  • haha i thought it was 'Only child an only child'

    what a tool

  • I could listen to this all day!

don't be shy, don't be shy

  • i need this song, somebody know where can i get it

  • you can get a version off hail to the theif, their album. You could fish around limewire and such for this version, or have a pop at dowloading it strait from youtube and converting it to an MP3.

  • thanks dude let me tell you something,i like so much brithish music as radiohead,pj harvey, morrisey, beatles, travis, sorry for my bad english apreciate it

  • suena good +depresion!!!!!!!!!

  • this version sounds a bit joy division like!

  • im glad someone picked up on that...it really was worth saying.

  • @virusinsideus hell yes!

  • @virusinsideus Sad to imagine what Joy Division might have produced if they had more time. Still my favourite band of all time ahead of Radiohead.

  • it would be cool if they had the jam outro on httt

  • LOL at the dude who said it wasn't real. One glance at Wikipedia obviously confirms a "There There" demo was released as a B-side to "2+2=5."

Anywho, I prefer the final "Hail...Thief" version of this legendary song, but it's definitely interesting to hear this. Thom's vocals here are very nice.

  • wow, his voice is so soft in this. can you upload this?

  • i am a massive radiohead fan. masssssive. never ever heard this version there's so much on your channel i can feast my eyes on!! : )

  • I really dig this version, thanks for posting it :)

  • i particularly dig the drum sounds

  • I don't think theirs much radiohead can do wrong, both versions are equal in greatness I excepected this much they shit genius

  • wow just great

  • i got the same one on the 2+2=5 ep. its really good, especially disk 2

  • Not really, it IS straight out from a Radiohead single, but oh well, belibe what you want :]

  • the drums are very joy division

  • You mean like Atrocity Exhibition? I agree

  • Sounds more like someone else's vocals and a remixed sound

  • Yeah, it could be, but it's not, it's straight out from a Radiohead single ;3

  • @Riqtam you sound more like someones else's vocals and a remixed sound

  • Awesome tune from the Head

  • AMAZING

  • Atmospheric, inspiring and beautiful. Music from a different dimension.

    Thank You x
