It's easier to push than to pull, Corvette's engine is front mounted. @fakeusa Actually he is right about the leaf springs. But not like the truck ones, these run horizontal and the Z06's are made of a composite. This does a number of things: eliminates weight (both in the weight of the springs and need for additional components), lowers center of gravity, eliminates need for other supension components such as the typical shock and strut setup so you can run wider tires amongst other things. Also doubles as an anti-roll bar and typically last much longer. GO GM!!
Don't even care, the Audi is so much more advanced, high tech, and far more exotic looking, not to mention build quality that puts Chevy to shame...I prefer the AWD Audi. Make that the 5.2, not 4.2...

On top of that vw has produced a TSI engine that's both supercharged and turbocharged. A 1.3 L engine produces 190 hp. the audi is faster in real life. driving in a straight line doesnt mean anything. awd better performance and the r8's 4.2L will last longer then the z06. plus audis magnetic ride suspension is more comfortable then the z06's leaf springs. hence the r8 is more comfortable and faster in real life.

@fakeusa Actually he is right about the leaf springs. But not like the truck ones, these run horizontal and the Z06's are made of a composite. This does a number of things: eliminates weight (both in the weight of the springs and need for additional components), lowers center of gravity, eliminates need for other supension components such as the typical shock and strut setup so you can run wider tires amongst other things. Also doubles as an anti-roll bar and typically last much longer. GO GM!!

@absolutinspire True story, i just watched the v10 vs z06..... pretty close race but the vette IS faster, even with a sloppy driver. Pretty sure the R8 will have the Z06 on take off from 0 mph of course, & probably a better 1/4 mile time because of it if, like many, THAT is all that matters... I personally prefer the overall speed. The Z06 is basically a race car on the street

@noshabibis Don't forget the corvette is lighter and has nearly 2 litres on the Audi V10. Be lucky to do 3.6 in a Z06 in a ZR1 would be more accurate however that's again 1 litre bigger plus a supercharger

@bighunt08 Beacause there are many qualities in an Audi that you will never see in an American car. These R8's have magnetic suspension AWD and are very well built. Not as fast as a z06 but a much better built car overall. Any Audi owner knows this and likely wont drive an American car after owning an Audi. Simple fact mate.
