Hello, I got a question, ¿can you connect a USB generic keyboard to the Nook? You should use a USB OTG adapter cord (miniUSB to female host USB) or something like that. If you have the elements, can you try if it works? Thanks!
And, the thing about the battery, you mean "died" as if the device is bricked, or like the fuel run empty and you need to recharge?, because if it died, that's bad.
I doesn't test whole battery lasting time after rooted, but I am sure about the less time compared to original since a lot of more service will run background, which consume some battery.

@Lord5oth Significantly less, but overall, way better than any other Android device. If you do simple math, it should have 3-6x less battery life, because the default Nook reading application does a full e-ink screen refresh every 6 pages, versus an Android Launcher which will do a "refresh" every page/or screen update.
Rooted my nook last Tuesday and it finally died on me last night. (I pushed it die on purpose) That's with HEAVY usage and 24/7 WiFi. I'm not complaining. ;)
@Tyclo is there a way to use original Nook reading app in rooted Nook? I only need rooting to enable mail client, and I want to keep the battery life as close to unrooted Nook as possible.
@Korn1holio Do you mean the stock reading app? Yes, none of the functionality of the Nook in its original state is lost. But be forewarned, rooting the nook does decrease the battery life, but installing gapps (Google Apps) highly reduces the battery life on the NST.
I suggest doing some reading on xda-developers, Google: "xda android dev nook touch." There's TouchNooter and a detailed mod list under "MinimalTouch." Check those out.
@Tyclo thank you. I asked about the stock reading app since you said that it redraws the screen only every 6 pages thus saving the battery life. Hope it's the same with rooted Nook. However it seems I would have to install gapps to use gmail which means huge battery drain. Oh well. I will head to the xda-dev forum and try to find out more.
Very nice, though I have to ask, where was the setting to turn off the animated kindle page turns? I have my nook touch arriving in the country this week and kindle is one of the apps Ill need on there!
why no sound

Great video(Though I wish it would be more in focus!). How has this affected the battery life?

@EnigmaPenguin
I think there's no way since kindle for android has no options to change behaviour
