  • looks pretty sick

  • no thnx i will pay 150$ more and go for a marshall class 5

  • @malmsteen80 $400 for a Marshall EL84 thing or $200 for our tweed Fendery 6L6 thing.... It is always the buyers choice.....We are just trying to create an opportunity for folks to get into TUBE TONE at a price they can afford! Its good to have choices!

  • @glprecycledsound dont get me wrong pls...ur amp is gr8 too but it doesnt sound like a plexi...i was just expecting a more plexish sound...but in any case (revenge)is a gr8 amp for the look and price

  • Is that comic sans on the name plate?

  • @complexprocess2 Yeah.. sorry... but we dug it at the time!

  • @glprecycledsound forgiven. ;-)

  • It's powered by a 6L6 and is 5 watts?? It should be roughly 10 watts in full Class A or, or about 30 in Class AB. Something is wrong.

  • @SonicProvocateur Ya know, it's all about voltage and current! Full Class A is typically done by biasing the output stage halfway between cutoff and saturation, with the plate load impedance to an appropriate value that gives maximum undistorted output power. Of course we weren't going for maximm undistorted power! As long as the manufacturer isn't rating the amplifier for its output power in a clipped state, the amplifier would normally be called class A, single-ended.

  • @SonicProvocateur The Fender Champion 600 has the same tubes and wattage.

  • Great, now I'm GASsing for another amp lol . Love the vintage look and the fact that it has a gain knob-

  • effects loop?

  • @Bflatest Sorry, no effects loop. Hard to put any more features on this at $200 bucks! Honestly we also think that a simple Clean Boost or Drive pedal in front of this amps makes it an absolute RIOT to play!! It's a ton of fun just plugging straight in!

  • @Bflatest Effects loop??? This is a grown man's amp head.

  • I Love the half power switch when 5 watts is just to loud.

  • This thing sounds like trash...Sorry mate!

  • @TheMadStrater No problem, the amp actually stands up for itself quite well. Obviously you are commenting on the PLAYER....as I have said many times, I am simply attempting to show its range from clean to NOT. YOU need to sort out my lack of ability and the video camera mic.. maybe even your PC speakers. But there is no way you can comment on the amp itself. Those who are actually astute enough to sort out a less than dazzling attempt at playing, can hear the amp is an ALL TUBE bargain .......

  • Nice! Ive been looking for the perfect bedroom setup for practice and i think this might be it... i just ordered mine on ebay (ordered the attenuator too)... You can definitely hear the tube tone and I could not find the same features or tone anywhere else for the money... Cant wait to try it out and post some videos!

  • Well, as a professional studio musician of forty years experience, I am impressed!

Even with the low-fi video mic, I can hear the classic sonic "signature" of a real class A valve amp.

The standby and XLR out are crucial pro features. The price is reasonable.

It looks cool and well-made too.

Is this all American made? If so, I definitely want one or two.

  • @OldSchoolSkill Well if you can hear the tube tone signature in that vid, you certainly ARE a professional. It really was a quick throw down of anything we could do to show it's range - primarily distortion. All not withstanding the built in vid cam mic.... very astute and Thank you very much for the kind comments.

It is USA designed - it is basically a Princeton 5F circuit . Sadly we cannot even buy the parts here at this price but we have excellent components and a good build!

  • take a look at the blackstar ht-5, in my opinion way better.

  • @dealerbinq and for $150 MORE, it probably SHOULD be! At $200 bucks the Revenge Lil Rock can't be beat!

  • @glprecycledsound got to admit that's damn true!

  • Hi ther u still havent reply me.

Will u ship tis amp to singapore?

    Wats d total cost ?

  • That's scary man!

I tried to sign up for the site but was unable after trying repeatedly (six times)

Also cleared my cache on the fourth, fifth and sixth tries :)

  • The Lil Rock and The Jet City don't really "compare"! One is a 5 watt head for $199 while the other is a 20 watt head from $299 to $499?? So it really depends on what your looking for power wise..... I will say the Revenge has more features than any amp in its price range... The Jet City isn't in its price range or power range. However, our 30 watt Revenge Hard Rock at $499 has MORE power AND Reverb and a tone more features, I think it beats the Jet City 20 hands down.

  • @glprecycledsound Jet City has a single ended 5 watt head for about the same price, cathode biased and just about any octal, including anything from an el34 to a KT88, will work in it, and it has all the same features, a much better sound, and the same basic topology as a THD Univalve. The JCA 20 is better than the 30 watter you guys are talking about too.

  • Revenge Vs Jet City Jca20h. Which one wins?

  • I think this is a great amp and a great deal but I'm curious:

    1) Why would you incorporate preamp tube gain on a low power tube amp? I think the attraction to these types of amps is output tube distortion at friendly volume.

    2) If I cut the gain is the preamp tube distortion out of the circuit or does the amp shut off?

I've been to your site and I love what you're doing. I'm not trying to annoy. I'd just like to hear your philosophy on this approach.

  • @pwalshj Nothing annoying about it (cept maybe my playing in the vid!) Anyway, I think you'd be amazed at how loud 5 watts can be (which is why we sell the best attenuator on the planet too). The gain knob gives a player more versatility. I can't say there are many going for a terrific CLEAN in a low watt amp.

Really I suppose you have to think of it as a Master Volume type circuit. Yes if you dial the Gain all the way down it is like turning the volume all the way off.

  • @glprecycledsound Thanks for the reply and best of luck with it. It is a great deal. And 'Tush' could never annoy me. ;) Cheers.

  • @glprecycledsound Thanks for the reply and best of luck with it. It is a great deal. And 'Tush' could never annoy me. ;) Cheers.

  • @pwalshj , 1 ) the idea is not to completely get rid of preamp tube gain, and you are quite mistaken about the idea behind of these types of amps being getting output tube distortion. The idea is only that it's EASIER to get output distortion, than trying that with a 50 watts tube amp. It's a long story....

  • Sounds impressive.

    Will you deliver to Singapore?

  • hello friend .... first thing I say, you are one of the few people know what they do. That's why I ask in all humility, if you could help build the project that appears in this video. Years of my life I've been looking for this project and I ran into someone Quelo could realize their work ... q would make me happy you make me flanged your project, I leave my e-mail to answer me: Greetings tincho_931@hotmail.com thanks ....

  • Really, Comic Sans for the nameplate? Man... why???

  • @TwoTones Well, we kind of "backed into it" as the font for our business - Recycled Sound.

    But it beats Times Roman!

    recycledsoundDOTnet

  • @glprecycledsound Comic Sans is widely regarded as the most unprofessional font in existence.

  • I just thought of something....it would be cool to record the demo sounds we do (clean, over driven, heavy, etc.), then press them to silk-screened CD's in a eco sleeve, for you guys to use for promotional purposes. No one is sending out demo disc of their amp tones for people to listen to in their own space, their own system. It makes sense being YT causes a considerable drop in sound quality on upload. I say this because we also do CD/DVD duplication. Food for thought

  • @AngryStudioEngineer well........your a noob

  • P.S. the "or not" ...didn't mean we wouldn't send the amp back...it was meant to say, or 'don't send us the amp'. Either way, we're not hurt. I just figured we could bump it up a few notches with high end studio gear and players and get you guys a really top shelf review, so you can start moving those things, to make up for my poor choice of wording on the initial post. Whatever you decide is fine with us. Message us if interested or to cuss us out lol ...Cheers

  • Sounds like shit

  • @AngryStudioEngineer Don't fault the amp for MY playing....I was just trying to show the range of the amp. IF as a self proclaimed studio engineer, you want to judge tone thru a video cam mic and a woefully inadequate player..... angry may not totally describe you?? .......and Happy Holidays to you too!

  • @glprecycledsound ...as someone who builds or sells amps, you should know the value of having the very best sound and player possible or the product itself could suffer. Don't fault me for telling the truth and pointing out, according to your own argument, you obviously rushed to do the video. Maybe you should have grabbed some better gear to make the video, borrowed it. The real truth is, I looked past the playing and listened to the amps tone, it's stingy and weak. That's just my opinion,

  • @AngryStudioEngineer NOW you're getting my attention! CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is very cool and highly desired on our end. We do have many very happy customers and appreciate them very much. We did not set out to sell a PRO quality head. Out intent was to get tube amp tone into the hands of those most likely to purchase solid state. Most of those guys are price shoppers. So we felt that a ton of features at a GREAT PRICE might do it. We hope to keep them as customers when it's time to upgrade.

  • The amp looks nice, in terms of its covering and design. The name and logo could lend a lil better to the marking of the product. If you look at and listen to the early amp & logo designs for Dr. Z, Bogner, etc. you will notice, these manufacturers products did not take off until they received constructive criticism, and improved upon the designs. I could take that same amp and redesign the logo and marketing and the sales would increase drastically, even though I feel the amp could improve.

  • @AngryStudioEngineer We got kind of stuck on our name. We have our CLASSIC series hand wired USA tube amps and our ROCK series imported for us tube amps. We happen to live in Arkansas and kind of fell for the Lil Rock thing. Our 30 watt head is called the Hard Rock 30. We've always been REVENGE (which in our case stands for Reverse Engineering - like Marshall was to Fender and Fender to Western Electric).

  • I took the time to re-listen to the entire video again, just to give you and the product the benefit of the doubt. You honestly cannot hear the stingy/muddy sound? What would you rather have, amateurs continually telling you how great it sounds, as pros run from it? Or pros critiquing the product and offering free & honest advice? Okay, what would cause a stingy/muddy sound? Tube quality (tube hum big-time), biasing, transformers, etc. ...Improve the sound, name & logo, it will sell better.

  • @AngryStudioEngineer You might notice I was standing right next to the head, with a Strat and the amp ends up "dimed". Kind of invites hum...and I can't say I have heard any amp that doesn't get muddy when FULLY cranked. We do offer JJ tube upgrades from our website, but that goes a bit beyond most of our customers. Our circuit is based on a 5F Tweed Princeton (hence the tweed cab)

but you might know - you get what you get with a tweed amp...... again we were trying to show the RANGE of tone.

  • P.S. I'm not taking about the 60 cycle hum coming from the rheostat/lighting/pickups. Anyway, got a busy day...cheers

  • @AngryStudioEngineer and CHEERS right back at ya! Thanks for your more considered comments. Tone is such a subjective thing.... I am confident even a Pro could dial in highly useable tones with our little 5 watt....and as we know.....most of it is in THEIR FINGERS! I have heard Pros play a silverface Champ with a cheap DuoSonic and make it sound like tone heaven..... anyway, PEACE!

  • @glprecycledsound ....Okay, I'll admit I was in the angry mood on that initial day(imagine that) If you like, send us one of those lil guys, we'll finger F it to death, write & video a review, you approve it, we'll put it up on a few of our sites, then send the amp on back or not. AllAmericanAmps. c o m .... AllBritishAmps. c o m ... TipsForMusicians. c o m .... BanginRecords. c o m and MasteringSecrets. c o m ...a few of 31 sites. BTW, anyone can get FREE STRINGS on the amp sites! ...Cheers

  • BTW, FREE GUITAR STRINGS ...No Strings Attached .... Only @ AllAmericanAmps. c o m ....AllBritishAmps. c o m ....offer good from now until Christmas!

  • looks like you guys have ripped off a local company here in Aus called Big White Monkey.....

  • @kearnage666 Our latest Revenge Lil Rock will accept 6L6 OR EL34 and we enhanced the circuit so it doesn't get unstable (SQUEAL) with all controls dimed. So maybe its more of a "chicken or the egg" thing? We also offer our hand wired Revenge Classic and our Hard Rock 30 watt. Niether of which are sold by BWM nor do they market products in the US as far as we know. BWM does NOT offer their amp at $199 usd, as we do. We think "ripped off" is a bit harsh! Buy theirs for $399...now thats a "RIP"!

  • Where are you guys located? Please tell me Arkansas

  • @b1gnasty69 You got it......... we are located in Conway, ARKANSAS, about 30 miles north of Little Rock.

  • Yes. . and Carvin seems to do a fairly good job going direct to the consumer.

What type of parts are on the inside? Sprague caps? Interleaved trannys? Type of tubes and resistors? 5F1 type Champ circuit? It sounds better and better the more I hear it, even via You Tube. .

  • The more I hear it, even on You Tube, it sounds better and better. (Carvin does a pretty good job selling direct). What kind of components are in it? Sprague caps? Type of transformer/s?. . hand wound interleaved? What tubes come with it? Is it similiar to a 5F1 circuit like a Champ? Fantastic sounding amp!

  • It is hard at times to really hear gear on You Tube. . depending on the recording device. This looks like a really cool amp to have and I bet it sounds fantastic. And who can beat the price? You might want to up the price a bit after sales take hold?

  • @74LesPaul What we are trying to do is hold the price DOWN! So more can enjoy a real TUBE AMP! That is why it is so difficult to find dealers. Most want to double their money on what is called an "A" mark in a retail setting. So to sell it you for $200, they have to buy it for $100! Which I guess means I'd have to get it $50??? I can't... so we spec'd the amp and sell DIRECT to keep it from being $300.00

  • @sixstringblues06 We bought an AC4 to test against. The AC4 gets pretty mushy when pushed hard...but then tube tone is a perception thing.. so who are we to say??

  • What mic is being used? Could be that the mic is not helping the amp?

  • @74LesPaul You are probably right, along with a "repair guy" playing, we are simply recording straight into the vid cam, with its built in mic.

  • Dont EVER play zztop again EVER . its cruel and unusual punishment to murder a good song that way .

  • @biscuits1337XD I am a bit surprised that I have had this vid posted for so long without a comment like yours. I promise to make a big effort to find a REAL guitar player for further demos. I was just excited to get this little thing out there so people knew it existed. A poor effort but an honest attempt to provide a clue to the Lil Rocks tone. Thanks for watching and thanks for the considered comment!

  • @biscuits1337XD it's an amp demo numbnuts not a Billy Gibbons lesson. don't be such a freakin' snob.

  • sounds awesome how well dose it take petals?

  • sounds awesome, are yall gonna sell a kit to build these for us DIY'ers?

  • @jighead81 I really don't think you could DIY for $200! We've been hand wiring 18 watts for about 10 years so we are aware that the trannies and the cab is worth more than whole amp if you DIY.

  • Looking at the exterior of a tube amp do not interest me one bit, open it up and show me whats inside that thing!

  • i like it but I'm disappointed at the lack of bass, mid and treble control.

  • Well it is basically a Tweed Vibrolux/Princeton Class A circuit. Putting a Tone Stack in this style of circuit would rally suck the power and Gain down unless another preamp tube was added. In a situation like yours, I really like EQ pedals to help fill it out and they are inexpensive and versatile.

  • i understand,an EQ was my solution. i play in a touring deathcore band and i need a smaller amp to play and record riffs with on the bus.but i want to be able to get something similar2 MY high gain tone which is why I'm not buying a piece of crap. I play through an Orange Thunderverb 50 with a Pro-tone RC sig. boost and high distortion pedal live. now, if i ran that same Pro-tone pedal and my rack 30 band eq through would you say i'd be able to get a true tube high gain metal tone out of this?

  • because i tried this with an epiphone valve junior and the little bastard lacked so i got rid of it. this amp is a bit similar so im hoping i wont be displeased again.

  • So what you get with this is a pretty good clean and somewhere from Blues, to Hard Rock in distortion. You'd need hot pickups or a pedal to go further.

  • With Hi output humbuckers, active EMGs or ?? it might get close. But as I said it is basically a tweed circuit. I don't know of anyone that base their Metal tone around around a classic tweed amp.

  • Remember the Fender Champ? the 50s (and best) version. No controls besides volume. Best amp I've ever played. Period.

  • @d3reilly This is basically a Tweed Princeton 5F2 circuit with a Gain pot inserted and a 6L6 power tube..

  • Like the sound and the features even more, but "Revenge" doesn't read as mean in Comic Sans hahaha!

  • thanx for the demo ^^ it does have a lot to offer for $200. can u pls do a demo with diff speaker cabs (and show/tell us what u are using) and a clean/lush tone ? thats what im really int in :P

  • cool amp, built well with a great sound. didn't take to my multi-fx pedal very well, but solid with other pedals and it's got a great clean tone of it's own.

  • We appreciate your comments and review. It is amazing how clean it can be for a low watt amp. You might try your multiFX pedal while being plugged in to the Lo input. Sometimes too much signal (especially transistor signal) can get pretty harsh. Thanks again and enjoy!

  • Don't let the 5 watts fool you! This is a very loud little box.

Swap out the tubes with some of quality and it will howl !

    Thanks again glprecycledsound

  • Great to hear and thanks very much for the kind comments! Now if we can spread the word.....

Revenge Amps has a Harmony-Central Review page if you care to be the first to start comments on the Lil Rock? Again, much appreciated!

  • Sweet little amp. Hope you sell a lot of these little babies.

  • I am trying to scam me a low watt tube amplifier for Christmas, this would be perfect. I can not believe how low the price is.
