i had to really listen to see if this was Godsmack when i heard it on the radio. its alot different than i stand alone and awake and all those songs but its one of my favorites now if not #1.
They use to play in the Worcester/Boston scene back in the mid-late 90's. For a few years they were an Alice in Chains coverband, but they started mixing their own tunes here and there until finally they were who we know them as. I actually was in a band that they played on the same bill. Some really nice guys. Wish I kept in touch with them like they told me to :(

Why does it matter if an artist/performer wears sunglasses. Have a look at the lights on the stage, theres a variety of reasons for wearing eyewear. Hell, imago/style could be as much of a reason as anything.
I know from my days working security at Nissan Pavilion, that light displays on stage pretty much never require sunglasses. Think about what you just said. They're not blasting supernovas up there; it's just stage lights. The only excuse he could have would be an eye condition.

There are some performers who kill it every single night and feed off the connection with their audience, and there are some who go through the same motions and do what they have to do. "Erna stated in a 1999 interview that 'I was making fun of somebody who had a cold sore on his lip and the next day I had one myself and somebody said, It looks like God just smacked you in the face for making fun. The name stuck and we went by Godsmack from then on. We were aware of the Alice in Chains song but didn't really think much about it. It's a cool song and the name had meaning for us".

godsmack is way fucking better than aic. i love both bands but godsmack realy clicks with meaning and gives a sence of comfert. they are way diffrent from aic in most songs and so what if some sound similar but if you knew something about them you would know that godsmack started as a tribute band for aic, and then became a beter band. and there still gettin better. not to mention there singer(sully) is way better and so is tony godsmacks guitarist, who has been recently compared to jimmy page.

They use to play in the Worcester/Boston scene back in the mid-late 90's. For a few years they were an Alice in Chains coverband, but they started mixing their own tunes here and there until finally they were who we know them as. I actually was in a band that they played on the same bill. Some really nice guys. Wish I kept in touch with them like they told me to :(
Gotta say out of alot of the bands at that time I'm glad they got the shot and took it.

Why does it matter if an artist/performer wears sunglasses. Have a look at the lights on the stage, theres a variety of reasons for wearing eyewear. Hell, imago/style could be as much of a reason as anything.

I know from my days working security at Nissan Pavilion, that light displays on stage pretty much never require sunglasses. Think about what you just said. They're not blasting supernovas up there; it's just stage lights. The only excuse he could have would be an eye condition.

If you want a proper answer, spelling and punctuation go a long way.
To answer your question with a question: have you ever been to a concert? There are some performers who kill it every single night and feed off the connection with their audience, and there are some who go through the same motions and do what they have to do. Sully Erna's wearing sunglasses gives off a "screw you" vibe and leads me to believe he is in the latter category.

Anyway, sunglasses could have easily been part of the act, kind of like Bono in U2. You think way too much of yourself if you expect an artist to connect to you. Personally, I go to concerts for the show, the music and the crowd. Not to see whether the singer looks at me.
