This is disgusting, how can a self proclaimed atheist use the bible as her reason for not allowing gay marriage? marriage is about love, regardless of gender. people take their own lives because of people not accepting who they are and the prime minister of our country is condoning this and promoting discrimination. Gillard doesnt understand nature likely has homosexuality for population control, support of childern who lost primary parents, genetic variety, men/women friendship potential without sexual tension, etc. Love is the common that holds societies together and is the center piece of marriage, not archiac notions of Jane/Tarzan/child duty to rear, as though we are pigs with sucklings. To deny one access to marriage, denigrates their potential to live a more full life, above animal urges/instincts.

Labor is not progressive, and what she says is totally non-sense. If marriage is defined by Bible, then all non-Christian, at least atheists should be banned from getting married. The majority of Australian people support same sex marriage, by opposing it, Labor party is not on the side of the working class.
