They might be giants...Im just saying...they could be...giants...it's possible that they lived in solitude from society and became much larger than humans...in which case we could assume that they may have become, through natural influences, GIANTS!
Wow what a fantastic cool voice - sounds black and indeed was the only white asked to particpate in the Tamla Motown tour of Britain. Brings back happy memories of him sing Lil'darling to me in person at a gig in London - long time ago !
Georgie is a good musician I loved him so but he doesn't come one time in a club in France does he?? (unlucky for me! ). There's a lot of jazz and blues festivals in my country. I wish he will play organ and piano and sings in one of these a next future !!!
Sorry to give it a thumbsdown, but this is so lame compared to the studio version. I know the audio quality prevents this from sounding like the original, but even taking that into consideration I just don't think Georgie did the song justice here. I hated the inflection he put on EVERY second "yeh". Once, or twice would've been ok, but EVERYTIME?!? Sorry, hated it.
@rb62470 Check out his 90s reggae version with Robben Ford on guitar. Super! Sorry you hated it - I think it's just .... fabtastic! ;-) In fact, I'll give it FIVE!
@rb62470 No, it's on an album made by Georgie on the Label Go Records (produced I believe by Ben Sidran) called "Cool Cat Blues". If memory seves Will Lee was on bass and Steve Gadd or Vinnie Colaiuta on drums. Boz Scaggs sang with Georgie on "It Should Have Been Me". Perhaps hard to find, but well worth the effort.
@twangbarfly thanks for the info - very detailed. I see your followup about Amazon as well. Interested in hearing it but not gonna make the purchase. If it was mp3 download, maybe. But I appreciate your help.
@rb62470 I see someone has posted Cat's Eyes from "Cool Cat Blues". Check it out - it's a gem played by absolutely top class musicians. Let me know what yout think... I have bought this album as a gift for friends in the past - can't buy it for you though :-)
@twangbarfly Definitely a smooth recording but not my thing. In general my affinity for Fame runs hot and cold. Yeh Yeh is incredible; I like Sitting In The Park, Sunny, Point Of No Return, and more basic covers like Last NIght and Green Onions. Getaway is ok - hate Bonnie&Clyde. I'd put Cat's Eyes somewhere in the middle of the bunch. Of course if I was relaxing in a recliner with headphones, I probably could appreciate it much more. But sitting in front of the pc, it doesn't do much for me.
Lyrics by Jon Hendricks --one of the great lyricists of all time --check out the Lambert, Hendricks & Ross version --it is as cool as this one this one is Very cool
SWEET GEORGIE... very good memory of this tube for me.. I was a teen agers and very fan of the G.F.voice in 1965 . ..Once more now I say YEH YEH to listen to Georgie's music (rythm and blues and jazz) VERY Good artist I always find about him!!!.
The bongo player was called "Speedy" and he always played with Georgie. He was a legend around the West End of London scene, where he used to appear with Georgie every Saturday night//early Sunday mornings at the Flamingo club.

@montecarlo0 - - I played trumpet , often with Georgie, and with Alan Price, Zoot Money & Freddy Mac. That's 'Speedy,' on congas. He was a South African Freedom Fighter, aka-ANC. So was I. Although I'm a Morescu.I think his last name is/was Ojukwu!
Very cool. Loved it then love it now. He has a big band version of this somewhere out there.
