@barsanco His work is free for performance. Go to his wikipedia page and you will find a link to the IMSLP/Petrucci database where you can find the complete score (Les sept paroles du Christ).
"... He is death-guilty. Take him! Take him! Let us crucify him! Be his blood on us and on our children!" is met with, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Oh, the grace of Christ! How amazing that he extended the same grace to me.
@SteveXS It seems so due to the lies told by the Nazis during the Holocaust, but what seems like a curse is actually a blessing. Those who accept Christ are covered by His blood, which is what allows us to be reconciled to God. Jesus was Jewish, as were the early Christians. Many of those who condemned Him later became His followers. God's love for Israel & the Jewish people is eternal & incorruptible. If one understands the context this passage of Scripture is not the least bit anti-Semitic.
I had the problem, that my church-choir (I am German!) did that piece of music some weeks ago. I had great difficulties to sing that text, because my first impression was as you said. But when I realized, that this kind of self-curse is a thing we all as human beings do ever and ever again, when I realized, that I can sing it as an example of what my anchestors did - not to Jesus, but to the Jews - I could sing it.
Let us hope that we can stop the hatred and do better.
wonderful!! i like all the soloists. they have a great voice. but, i think the choir is lack of expression only for this part. over all, i love it.. this masterpiece always makes me thank for Jesus for His mercy for me as a sinner..
Esta Obra la interpretaremos en nuestra Iglesia :D Domingo 8 de Abril, 18:30 Hrs!! :D

No matter how beautiful and effective some of the music, the text is a horrendous throwback to an earlier era of anti-Jewish prejudice.

Performed this twice today; beautiful! Only thing I don't like about this video is that the performance is in english; it's prettier in Latin.
