My boyfriend just smiles at me because he can't believe how fast I am progressing :-) I know I still need lots of work, but even some of my friends said "You must have been playing a long time." --lol-- Do u have any videos on diff fingerpick styles? I love fingerpickn'!! If u don't, make some PLZZZZ

  • Please PLAY the example piece first...before you talk about it...gives us a better chance to understand what you are talking about...and learn.

    THANKS for your lessons.

  • do you think you need to keep the struming the same all the way througth or can you vary it alot, staying in time of course? Thanks for vid, nice detail

  • sure, to move your playing forward you will want to try and vary the strum - playing different patterns and rhythms within the same song and even changing the strum from chord to chord - check out some of my other lessons here as I have some lessons on just that. rockon!

  • David, when recording your acoustic is it unplugged?

  • Hi - depends - when recording video lessons I usually plug it in to an amo and mic the amo so I can control the audio levels on video - but sometimes I mic the acoustic up close with no amp and at times I just have a room mic - all depends on the setup I want that day and the sounds I need to capture - If I remember right on this video I think I am going unplugged with just a room mic - but I am not totally sure as I film so much its tough to remember every session

    rock on!

  • @rockongoodpeople what tayor is this is beautiful

  • i need help, i play electric guitar, but im gettin into acoustic, i can play chord songs in electric, like hotel california, and thinga like that, but when i play in acoustig with the same chords, sounds kinds.... weird, like too strong, why?

  • @JerryAmoz its a babilon

  • thanks for the free lessons, I love the work you've done so far.

    saludos desde Mexico

  • nice lesson as always, Thanks for all that you do for us in the guitar world

  • rock on

  • The most profound thing my guitar tutor said to me was that as a musician I only have control over two things.

The note value, of which you are limited to the range between 0 to 12 and the note time which you are limited to the range of 0 to infinity. A bit philosophical I know but it has stuck in my head and is very true :)

  • beauty is in the ear of the beholder!

  • Ur Taylor Guitar sounds sweet, I have a Takamine, and its pretty good for the price

  • Nice job!

  • david. Love your videos. Very helpful. Thank you heaps.

  • Honey you can't hide your lyin' eyes.

  • i love that Taylor. . . Cedar top? correct?

  • Hi - the guitar I used in this lesson is a Taylor GS5 - it has a cedar top and tropical american mahogany back and sides - warm and rich sounding acoustic for sure

    rock on!

    -David T

  • that guitar sounds amazing

  • expensive guitar = you can find something better but cheaper.. but nice playing

  • @paulgnc24

    Not neccesarily true! :P

  • @rockindavid310 at least for me.. i've played a $1700 martin acoustic but it doesn't seem to sound any better than a takamine or a laguna acoustic.. but martin is a big name i guess you paying for the top of the line wood and top of the line manufacturing.. i'm comparing sound wise. but everyone has their own opinion. thnx:)

  • @paulgnc24 Takamines are amazing, eh?

  • @Dannicthemanic yes they are.. and affordable too!. haha but they have those really expensive ones. but i wish i'd have a taylor or a martin guitar LOL.. show off:)

  • @paulgnc24 I'll stick with my takamine for now, until I can afford a Martin....some day.

  • very easy but very nice and clean, cheers bro
