I do it out of habit now but I used to do it when I first learned how to drive stick to make sure I was def out of gear so I wouldn't stall into traffic.. haha but I've never done it as much as in this video.. It looks like more of a nervous/anxious shake down. If I was in a car with someone who did that every time they stopped it'd drive me crazy... but you're right, there is no reason.. unless you're learning i'd say

  • Try to launch it softer. with the turbo you'll just keep breaking traction when it spools up

  • @WyattHD it was hitting the rev limiter because he was spinning, if he would have shifted it would bog. what he should have done is let off a bit or let it bounce of the rev limiter.

  • you need to learn to launch that car...you had more wheel spin and near sideways action then you could handle. that car will run much faster once you get a feel for it. learn to feather the throttle a little more on launch or you are just going to light up the tires each time. street tires or not you. a SC 350Z puts down about 400whp, that is not beyond the ability of street tires to handle.

    I agree. I have an 11 second camaro thats a five speed. You can't take your hand off the shifter, there's no time. All the people with 20 second hondas need to stop telling people with real cars how to drive. That guy did everything just fine. You don't put slicks on a street car, and while he may have left line a little too hard that has nothing to do with him slipping in third.

  • @wrxFTWdey ive had a vortech S/C maxima, and a TT sc300, in my oipinion, turbo is the better way to go, plus its cheaper. i say cheaper cuz you really cant/dont want to piece a S/C kit together, while you can do that with a turbo kit. turbo will produce more power if needs be with less effort like pulling the whole blower off just to put a smaller pulley for more boost (some S/C kits are this way)....in the end its what youre looking for, and how your money is looking.

  • from the video, some rear suspension components would have fixed the issues with the traction at the launch and second gear. With that taken care of, it would have been a completely different race all together. SPC and other companies make plenty of rear suspension parts. I had Kinetix rear camber/toe kit and eibach sways with GTSpec undercarriage frame supports on my G35coupe and it handled like a dream. I used it for daily use and drift. I had a bunch of boltons on the motor but no FI.

  • @350fury With a blower especially, he would have lost more time by letting off and getting right back in it. Even rolling into the gears, the blower would still be pushing the boost at the same speed, he would light them up at high rpms. The revs control the blower speed, so with him sandbagging himself by shifting early, that's really all he could have done. Lightweight and traction. It was definitely a traction issue, plain and simple. I thought he did an awesome job for what he had.

  • @348rider dude dont get the roots style. the reason is roots/screw styel superhcarger dose not flow enough air like a syntrifigual or turbo. you will have no top end at all. and the sound gets so god dam anoying after a month. supercharger, it lacks in hp and dont produce what they clame. also all their bearings go bad after 4 or 5 thousend miles. also their customer service sucks
