Well Carol Lynly and Red Buttons HATED each other on the set. IN the underwater sequence where Shelley Winters Saves Gene Hackman, well it was said that Shelley took her sweet ass time getting to Gene, he was running out of oxygen, though there was a crew memeber with a tank of air next to him. Ronald Neame was only the dirctor of all NON-ACTION sequences, Irwin was in complete charge of all the ACTION. Explosion and whatnots, as he did on The Towering Inferno
we have to be honest Shelley could be quite demanding at times . I heard that when she did that Diamonds movie in Israel she kept some of the real sotnes they used in the film until they upped her salary. and most of her scenes in poseidon were kind of add libbed which makes the part when Stella shouts "Will you shut up " all too real./
one the best movies ever made and then they killed it wrose then gene hackman killing him self to save the remaning 8 surviers. watch the 1974 verson. better then the 07 pice of crap.

I dont mind the new version but it is no way as good as the old one. Way more tension and Gene is outstanding.
